I think doing the following will help you. 1. Visit the Veterinarian. 2. Physical Exercise. An unmotivated dog needs attention. All healthy dogs benefit from a brisk, half-hour, daily walk on a leash. Go to the park, walk around the neighborhood or, if your dog is more than 18 months old, take him for jog. In a fenced area, play fetch, teach him to jump or have him swim with you. However, take into consideration your dog's age, size and breed. For example, an older Labradoodle is prone to arthritis and hip dysplasia, so a 10-minute walk might be sufficient. Short walks and smaller bouts of play are best for a bulldog or pug. His flat nose makes it difficult to breathe, especially in warm weather. 3.Mental Exercise Stimulate the laziness out of your dog with hide-and-seek and retrieval games. Long- lasting bones, rope toys with knots at the end and hard rubber chew toys with a treat inside keep dogs distracted, challenged and entertained. Another way to engage your dog is through obedience classes and training exercises. Consider instituting clicker training, using a sound to get your dog to do something, for 5 minutes a day. Obedience training, such as learning commands on cue, stimulates a dog's mind because it keeps him guessing which command he'll obey next. 4.Establish a Routine Dogs do best on a routine. It allows the dog control over his emotions and environment because he knows what to expect next. Feeding, potty trips, walks and crate time are all activities that should be done at roughly around the same time every day. When your dog's brain is stimulated, he'll look forward to his activities and desire your companionship, physical exercise and mental challenges. |

poverty, the prize and end-point of laziness. It comes upon you like a mighty flood. Just like hiv/aids, it is transmitted from one person to another though not sexually but mentally. It grows gradually into the comes and marrows like cancer and finally to abject poverty. when drowned/swallowed just like an iron thrown into an ocean, it takes mental liberation, visitation, transformation and most importantly spiritual and super-natural purification to be delivered from it's claws, bondage and captivity. A well known adage says 'a wise man learns from the mistakes and experience of others. Haven seen laziness render potential, gifted and talented men and women useless, fools still allow themselves to be made victims of the circumstance. When asked. What is the cause? We blame the cause of our predicament and disastrous outcome to our ancestors, parents, friends...etc. Maybe you take the likes of Charlie Chaplin, J.K Rowlins, Jim Carey, Frank O' Dea, Steve Jobs, Oprah Winfrey...etc. They were men and women born into the families of poor parents and backgrounds, but they had this decision: NEVER TO REMAIN VICTIMS OF THE CIRCUMSTANCE BUT VICTORS OVER THE CIRCUMSTANCE. Guess what happened? They SUCCEEDED. You want to know your problem? Then look into the mirror. Until we stop blaming our environment and start putting the blame on ourselves, then we will never get out of it(poverty). Some use the scripture which says 'the love of money is the root of all evil(1Tim 6:10). Forgetting the scriptures like (Prov 20:13) and (Prov 6:11). Even Christ himself was made poor so that we might become rich (2Cor 8:9). This is to say that; he doesn't want to see any of us wallowing in Poverty. finally, formula to success is God+Hardwork-Laziness/procastination=Success. For it is written, if any is not willing to work, let him not eat (2Thes 3:10) ........Logadims |

Today, i'll be talking about the common figures of speech. List of Figure of Speech and Examples. what does that really mean? A figure of speech is just that – figurative language. It might be words with a literal meaning, a certain arrangements of words, or a phrase with a meaning that is something entirely other than that of the words themselves. Figures of speech can be refreshing and fun, but for some – especially those who are not native English speakers – a figure of speech can be very confusing. Here are some of the most common figures of speech and what they mean. 1. Alliteration: This is a very common figure of speech that involves using words that begin with the same sound. For instance, “Sally sells sea shells by the seashore” is alliteration – and try saying it fast to see how difficult it is! It is often used in advertising slogans to create something catchy that more people will remember. 2. Anaphora: This figure of speech uses a specific clause at the beginning of each sentence or point to make a statement. For instance: “Good night and good luck” is an example of the beginning word being the same. The more it is used, the more of an emotional effect is can evoke among those who are listening. Another example is "Mad world! Mad kings! Mad composition!" from King John, II, I by William Shakespeare. 3. Assonance: Remember the phrase “I Like Ike”? It was a very common phase for those who supported Dwight Eisenhower during his presidential run. This is a figure of speech that focuses on the vowel sounds in a phrase, repeating them over and over to great effect. 3. Hyperbole: “It was as big as a mountain! It was faster than a cheetah! It was dumber than a rock!” This figure of speech makes things seem much bigger than they really were by using grandiose depictions of everyday things. Hyperbole is often seen as an exaggeration that adds a bit of humor to a story. 4. Irony: This figure of speech tries to use a word in a literal sense that debunks what has just been said. “Gentlemen, you can’t fight in here! This is the War Room!” from Dr. Strangelove is a great example. It is often used to poke fun at a situation that everyone else sees as a very serious matter. There are different types of irony and here are the details and examples. 5. Metaphor: The use of metaphor compares two things that are not alike and finds something about them to make them alike. “My heart is a lonely hunter that hunts on a lonely hill” from a book by William Sharp is a good example of metaphor. Some writers try to use this style to create something profound out of comparing two things that appear to have nothing at all in common. 6. Simile: In this figure of speech, two things are compared that are not really the same, but are used to make a point about each other. “Life is like a box of chocolates; you never know what you’re going to get” is a famous line from the movie Forrest Gump that illustrates the simile. This is often used to make an emotional point about something. The difference between simile and metaphor is that you can obviously see words "like" in the sentence. 7. Metonymy: In this figure of speech, one word that has a very similar meaning can be used for another. Using the word “crown” for “royalty” or “lab coats” for “scientists” are two examples. In some ways it can be seen as a nickname for something else; for instance, “The White House said” doesn’t actually mean the White House said it (a house can’t speak!) but that the President said it. However, we all understand the meaning, and so the words are interchangeable. 8. Onomatopoeia: This is the use of a word that actually sounds like what it means. Good examples include “hiss” or “ding-dong” or “fizz.” These words are meant to describe something that actually sounds very much like the word itself. This is a trick often used in advertising to help convey what something is really like. 9. Paradox: This figure of speech completely contradicts itself in the same sentence. Famous quotes that illustrate this from George Orwell’s “1984” include: “War is peace. Ignorance is strength. Freedom is slavery.” Though we know these things aren’t true, they present an interesting paradox that makes a person think seriously about what they have just read or heard. 10. Personification: This is a way of giving an inanimate object the qualities of a living thing. “The tree quaked with fear as the wind approached” is an example; “The sun smiled down on her” is another. This can sometimes be used to invoke an emotional response to something by making it more personable, friendly and relatable. |
