PoliticsRe: Over 4,000 Nigerian Students In Khartoum Sudan??? by LOLnigerians: 10:03am On Mar 07, 2015
1 . Nigeria has a lower IQ than Sudan which shows that education is better in Sudan than Nigeria.
2. What is the latest literacy rate in Nigeria? compare that to Sudan....
3. LMAO at the weather ,Sudan has multiple weather condition besides, the Gulf is even Hotter than Sudan in general
4. Khartoum is a developed city and pretty clean compared to Lagos or Abuja too

please, we got a huge nigerian migration in Sudan anyway even in our conflict regions of Darfur. They live there in peace, nothing happening to them. they just like any other person.

gsaint trinity: MAN u are very funny..... I pray make Sudan have 100% people living in Affluence and 100% Literacy level..
only one year record of graduates from Nigerian universities is more than the whole of Sudan's educated people.
hahahahah keep day dreaming dude, if that was true how come so many of your people are illiterate?

please tell me, of course you will have more graduates because you have a bigger population but still , sudanese are much more literate than nigerians! the number of illiterate people in nigeria make up more than twice our population wink

KidStranglehold: He/she is actually right...

1. People have been living in the horn since 18k years. Physical remains and rock art prove that. So they are not recent migrates to the area...
2. The majority of the population in Sudan is African not Arab. So I don't understand what you mean by real Kushites. All Sudanese people(well most) descent from them. Northern Sudanese people are Arabized people like those of North Africa and the Levant.
3. Um...Yeah...It doesn't matter of AA is a recent term since that language was spoken since the neolithic. The Nubian language was spoken since the old kingdom of Nubia and its not Afro-Asiatic but Nile Saharan and has always been.
True, and oh BTW am a ''HE'' wink
CultureRe: Was Cleopatra Black? No. by LOLnigerians: 4:30pm On Sep 03, 2013
KidStranglehold: IIRC Ethiopians meant Nubians. While the Hebrews called the people Kushites. Ethiopia recently got the name Ethiopia.
true, this has in both cases created much confusion
CultureRe: Was Cleopatra Black? No. by LOLnigerians: 4:21pm On Sep 03, 2013
KidStranglehold: Agreed the character thinks Kush=Cush...When the Kushites were Nile Saharans and NOT even Afro-Asiatic.
100% agreed. the funny thing is that after separation of south sudan, the only non afro asiatic group in northern sudan are some darfuri tribes and nubians of the north who are in fact nile saharans. very different to the afro asiatic in the rest of Sudan and eastern africa.

the similar names of Kush=Cush has created a lot of confusion even some people say they are modern day ethiopians, this mistake is thanks to the greeks who referred to the people south of egypt on that time ''ethiopians'' that is also wrong as there is a big difference between ancient ethiopians (kushites) and modern ethiopians (ethiopians of the horn)
CultureRe: Was Cleopatra Black? No. by LOLnigerians: 4:14pm On Sep 03, 2013
*Kails*:
This is not true.
You cannot use present day populations (as far as demographics and locations) when it comes to the past. Most horners are RECENT migrants to the area. They as well as those living in present day kenya migrated from that region. And the real kushites in sudan (not the arabs) still do resemble the horners and nilotes of southern soudan and kenya.

And last time I checked the term afro asiatic is also a NEW term...nobody was afro asiatic back in the beginning DUH.
that they are ''recent'' migrants to the horn doesn't mean they are kushites. look at the difference between the horners and northern Sudanese of today. there is no single documentary that once said ''Kushites after the fall of kush migrated to present day somalia and ethiopia'' in fact, during the days of cush those areas were already populated such as the kingdom of aksum.

yes there are cushitic people in those region but those aren't so called people of Kush which are the nubians of sudan. you never see somalis or ethios building pyramids as they are entirely different people. may be some kushites migrated to the horn and rest of africa , that definitely happen may be due to geographic , economic or trade reasons

but whats known worldwide and by archelogists the descendends of the kingdom of Kush are the northern sudanese of today, this doesn't include horners at all and even in North Sudan a number of tribes don't find their roots in the ancient Kingdom of kush, let alone the horners of east africa
CultureRe: Was Cleopatra Black? No. by LOLnigerians: 11:52am On Sep 03, 2013
somalia5: dude horners have always been called cush aka kush.......the only people in the horn of africa are somali/ethiopian/sudan/eritrean ..............the rest are arabs around us ......

dude their is genetic similiarity between all the people in sudan, somalia, ethiopia, somalia wasnt inhabited till somalis left and branched out from ethiopians.

nubians didnt come out of nowhere, all the people form southern egypt to southern somalia are related and look alike
there is a difference between us and you horners. there is a difference between Kush and Cush.

Cush is just of group of tribes who speak Cushitic languages which are mainly in the horn of Africa and also in eastern Sudan i.e. the beja people.

Kush on the other hand are the current day Northern Sudanese which are the descendens of the old kingdom of Kush. we aren't related to ethiopians , eritreans or somalis in anything other than religion and trade. we don't look alike either. may be some eritreans look similar to eastern sudanese but I can see the difference between a Sudanese and a somali/ethiopian

am Sudanese , my grandfathers and relatives are from that northern region but I was raised near the capital so I only know Arabic most of the time but I can still understand some parts of the song i.e.

Nubia our land , the land of our grandfathers (ancestors)

the greatness of the horizon inspiring us every day (something like that in english)

the structures of our grandfathers (pyramids) giving us pride

a land of pride nubia , the land of kindness and warm people (warm people i.e. hospitable people)

......

thats all I understood basically wink

Am Sudanese and I tell you all, no1 of youth is descended of the Kush empire except we North Sudanese ourselves. they were my ancestors and all their pyramids, temples and history is inside the modern day north sudanese territories. and somalis or West African's both didn't have anything to do with our ancient empire except trade.

so please, keep our sudanese history away from your internet wars
Nairaland GeneralRe: I Hate The Arrogance Of Nigerians!!! by LOLnigerians: 1:22pm On Aug 01, 2013
Obi1kenobi: I’ve observed Nigerians are incredibly arrogant and I’m often left wondering what makes this conceited posturing justifiable. I was reading a thread yesterday enquiring as to why South Africans and Ghanaians hate Nigerians and the predictable response from several delusional people was the usual rhetoric about how everyone envies us and what not. I think many of us have to start appreciating a few home truths:
1) Nigeria is one of the most impoverished nations on the planet and ranks extremely low on every single index measuring standard of living and development. We generally only out-perform war-torn or drought ravaged countries like Sudan, Somalia, Eritrea etc.
2) No foreigner who appreciates order and security would love to come to a country like Nigeria. Expatriates in this country are some of the highest paid in the world because of the adverse, hazardous working conditions.
3) Being an overpopulated, lumbering, befuddled giant doesn’t make us the “giant of Africa”. I don’t see why any sensible person should brag about our population as some kind of virtue – else we may as well claim to be greater than every country in Europe simply cos we pop out kids like rabbits putting greater strain on scarce resources. What makes this line of reasoning even worse is that we are a contrived product of our colonial masters who have left us with a big socio-political challenge to surmount. Our size is probably more an inhibitive hindrance than an advantage to thump our chests about.
4) We’re not smarter or richer or better looking than the countries we flood with all our vices. It’s hilarious, pretentious, delusional, wishful thinking. Little separates the average Southern Nigerian from the average Ghanaian or Cameroonian or Ivorian or the average Northern Nigerian from the average Nigerien or Senegalese or Sudanese etc. Any pretentions to the contrary is just subscribing to the delusion that makes us loathed outside these shores.
5) We’re a society as mediocre as they come and applaud mediocrity from the banal music of D’banj to our embarrassing movie industry to the mediocre politicians we love to cheer for the most mundane accomplishments.

Basically, there’s absolutely nothing spectacular about us and our insufferable arrogance is totally unjustified and contributes to why citizens of many other countries find us totally contemptible. When you think of France, you think of well aged Bordeaux wine, high fashion and couture, romance, beautiful cities etc; when you think of Italy, you’re thinking of great cuisine, beautiful ancient cities of Venice, Florence, Rome, great art, opera etc; when Nigeria is heard around the world, people think of scammers and frauds, drug pushers, venal, avaricious politicians, exported prostitutes etc.

That’s why we’re blacklisted from utilizing certain web services, that’s why we’re humiliated and rejected in every embassy. I never subscribe to stereotype and judge everyone on their merits as individuals but I’d like to see a little humility and acknowledgement of our failures as a nation rather than the rabid chest thumping. It’s the first step to making progress.

And for the record, I’m a full-blooded Anambrarian pointing out some plain facts rather than a foreigner on the attack. Personal/national pride is one thing (however misguided); unbridled arrogance and hubris is on a whole different scale.
loool , spare me the crap cool
Nairaland GeneralRe: I Hate The Arrogance Of Nigerians!!! by LOLnigerians: 1:21pm On Aug 01, 2013
LOL you Nigerians are funny

in what way does Nigeria over perform Sudan( North ) ?

Is it in terms of literacy , poverty , health or what? well am speaking directly to this dude who said that crap

in terms of Poverty , Sudan is in a waaaay better position even though there are rebels in Darfur . in nigeria , over 60% of people live in poverty. In sudan (latest figures before south sudan independence) poverty was 45% now that figure could go as low as %30 now since south sudan left with many of the poor. 60% is like 112 million nigerians in poverty that is like 3 times the entire population of former Sudan cheesy understood?

now moving to literacy, only 60% of Nigerians are literate, in Sudan its %70 after separation wink wow you guys are pretty smart lol LMAO

now about health, how many of your people have diseases specially aids? how many have access to healthcarehuh over 3.2 million nigerians had aids as of 2005 , imagine how many now as of 2013 since poverty has increased in your so called Nigeria cheesy

Sudan is a developing country, we lost over 70% of the oil therefor our economy is still recovering from the loss which continues until 2014 and Sudan continues to develop day after day

now I am not interested in bashing nigerians or anything but those likes who overestimate themselves should keep their shit together wink
