Slimmy05 I misunderstood your signal.. Wouldn't want you to tell me I'm pouring out my frustration again. |

slimmy05: This is rude and boisterous way of addressing someone you don't know. I find this very insulting. The Nigeria you're depending on will still dawn on you when you start swiping. My advice is for you to buy enough wigs, so when you start seeing the reality of American dream you won't sit you but 24hrs trying to weave your hair yourself.
If you actually filled that course and you had to take a career in banking which is to tell you how invaluable the course is to Nigeria despite thousands of churches and deep rooted culture. One of the best banks Now get this straight, anyone who comes for your dinner is doing you a favor as food in US no be anything. If we open our fridge for you, you'll salivate, but men, we usually end most of them in trash.
You had better be humble rather than being boisterous over nothing. Feel free to attack me o, I'm already used to it as it would never change my stands in quoting you or anyone anytime such comments are made on this thread. Hmmmmm... I comment my reserve. |

slimmy05: You need to focus on your admission and stop pouring your undue frustration out. You need some humor in your life. You need help more. I can see you have humour already but you don't know how, where and when to use it. |

slimmy05: In fact a lot of them.
1. Federal University of Port Harcourt, Arlington Way, Texas 2. Yaba College of Technology, New York I thought this forum was for people to ask questions and get real answers and not rude and sarcastic answers. He wouldn't have asked such questions if he already knew the answer. Posting such harsh answers won't make you look funny. The guy needs help, I guess that's why he asked. No one knows all, it could be your turn tomorrow. Keep quiet if you don't know the answer and let people that can help him answer. |

zeezahbee: Spot on, you are actually right. Although I am more of introvert and only my parents and siblings knew but anytime I tell my friends if they all like to further more, leave Nig and get that good live. they all say no, no and no. I was actually asking them so I can see if everyone think the same way I do.
I jejely started and they never knew until I travelled. You actually don't need anyone to tell you to move on and succeed.
Some people are actually so comfortable to be stagnant especially ladies. Few of my friends are either married or planning to. Some of them thinks marriage is just the top of it Exactly... I can't fit shout. When did you travel and which school are you in? |

boneruns: I must commend everyone on this thread. I have been a secret follower since over two years now.
Each time I read through this thread, that burning desire of postgraduate study in USA makes me feel I should begin the process urgently. But, the distractions in Nigeria are not allowing me to concentrate on this pursuit.
I work and earn averagely okay in Nigeria, but the dream of some young employee is to have a comfortable apartment, a nice car and other exuberance, which are my distractions. I had wanted to save up some amount and rely on GA or TA for this academic pursuit, which I believed would turn out to be successful.
Within me, I would not have academic fulfillment without PG study in US or other educationally advanced countries. I pray this turn out to be successful .
I just need motivation and courage, maybe something would turn out good next year. I realized that whenever I tell some people about this plan, even family members, they tend to discourage me.
I will keep peeping into this thread, as I have always done secretly
May God help me! Amen. This was my story few months back. Family and friends discouraged me hence they refused to sponsor me cuz I'm a woman who should be thinking about marriage and not education. I was determined to sponsor myself come what may with God on my side. I'm getting my i-20 soon from Murray State University and I've stopped discussing this topic with family and friends. I'll surprise them with my visa soon by God's grace. The earlier you stop telling people about it, the better. It is your personal dream and you alone can make it come through. Remember that no one actually cares about you until you make it. God bless you |
