JAMB says the names of impersonators in the past 10 years would soon be published to serve as deterrent to others who continue to impersonate in JAMB’s examinations. Many students may have been thinking of how jamb and schools fix cut off marks every year. Here is an epistle that will answer those questions. Before digging deep, lets see the difference. JAMB cut off mark is fixed (rigid) Departmental cut off mark is flexible and varies every year. Why does departmental cut off mark change every year? I will explain that to you later in the article. Also, JAMB cut off mark is the minimum score you must have in UTME before you can apply for Post UTME admission screening exercise. On the other hand, departmental cut off mark is the minimum aggregate score you must have before you can be admitted for any course you choose. In most schools, you will surely be given admission once you meet the departmental cut off mark but scoring above the JAMB cut off mark does not guarantee admission. Still confused? Let me shed more light on that using examples. JAMB cut off mark for UNN is 200. If you want to apply for ANY COURSE in the UNN, you MUST SCORE at least 200 in JAMB. However, scoring even 300 in JAMB does not guarantee your admission into UNN if you fail the Post UTME and your aggregate score is below the departmental cut off mark for your applied course. If you prepare for Post UTME the right way and use past questions, passing won’t be an issue. The wish and aim of every student reading for any exam is to read for long hours without loosing focus. But unfortunately, most times you start to feeling dizzy. Here are some reasons why you feel dizzy and the cure not to sleep once you open your books for reading. 1. Reading After Eating. After eating your food, it is good you relax for some minutes before going to study, give your body little rest before you start work. Eat small food at night, drink water while eating, avoid you that can cause dizziness such as alcohol, caffeine, etc. 2. Lack Of Rest. Get enough sleep when you are back from school, sleeping in the afternoon after lectures will help you read longer at night. Even when you don’t have the chance to take afternoon sleep, ensure you don’t sit on a comfortable chair while reading. 3. Too Conducive Environment. Its good to study in a cool environment but making it too comfort for yourSelf is the problem. Eg, Reading on top of your bed, sitting on a warm chair while reading, reading inside air condition. Here they are 1. Those with high Jamb score: Many persons who score high in Jamb have the belief that their admission is sure . However, this is not the case. You could score very high and still fail to gain admission. No matter how high your Jamb score may be, there are many other persons who got higher scores. Also, your Jamb score may not even be high enough for your course. E.g 265 Jamb score is not sufficient for Medicine (Unless you score extremely high in Post utme) In 2017 admission, many persons who scored very high in Jamb failed to secure admission because they performed poorly in Post Utme. Irrespectively of your Jamb score, you still need to work hard so as to meet other Jamb and school requirements. 2. Those Who Think Their Jamb Score Is Low: So many persons who scored below 200 in Jamb conclude that Jamb will not give them admission. You can actually gain admission with a Jamb score above 150. The only thing you need is the “how to factor”. With low Jamb 2019/2020 score, you could simply change your institution and course of choice to less competitive ones 3. Those With Low Jamb Score: Jamb 2019 Score of 100 may not be enough to secure admission into any top University or Polytechnic in Nigeria. Anyways, that’s not the end of life. You could quickly give IJMB Program a try. Another program that guarantees your admission directly into 200 level is the Jupeb program. It is expensive but worth it Source https://www.longevity.com.ng/2019/03/07/8-mistaken-jamb-candidates-that-may-not-gain-admission-in-jamb-2019-2020/ |
