When will they actually drive into a mosque and detonate
It has happened in in over 20 churches
Nonsense
This is just to deflect attention
They day they do what they did at Madalla in a mosque,Boko Haram will cease because they will hunt down and kill the supporters in their midst well known to them

My point exactly

Nairaland / General / Man With No Face And Woman With One Leg Give Birth To Healthy Baby Girl (photos) by lonipeter(m): 6:26pm On Dec 12, 2012
A father with no face who feared his unborn child would inherit his shocking condition is celebrating after his wife gave birth to a healthy baby girl.

Mohammad Latif Khatana, 32, and his wife Salima, 25, from Jammu and Kashmir in India, have been enjoying every moment with their newborn daughter. Ulfat, meaning love in Urdu, was born naturally at home, in Reasi district, on November 10, weighing a healthy 5lbs 5oz.As soon as Latif held his new daughter he quickly checked her over for any visible marks. But the new parents were overjoyed to find their little girl was healthy and unmarked.Latif said: "I was extremely worried about my baby's facial features. When I saw that she was pretty and fine, it was a great relief. She has a beautiful face, just like an angel."

Latif explained his new daughter has brought joy into his life after years of misery because of his own disfigurement. Latif suffers from a skin disorder, Neurofibromatosis, which means he has multiple flaps of skin covering his entire face, making him almost faceless. He said: "I want to forget about my past life. Being a father is a new chapter in a man's life and I am embracing every second of it. I will enjoy it and I'll now be a lot more worried about her than myself. I don't care so much about me anymore."

When his wife Salima found out she was expecting, the pair suffered many sleepless nights worried whether Latif would pass on his condition. Salima, who was born with just one foot, married Latif in August 2008. Latif struggled to find a wife for many years but when he met Salima, they bonded over their disabilities, and finally agreed to marry. Latif said: "We had always wanted children but we were always too scared. In the end we took a chance but I prayed throughout the pregnancy that we had a healthy child. I didn't care if it was a boy or girl as long as he or she didn't have to hide its face in shame.

"When I finally heard my daughter's cries, it was such a special moment, my heart was full of happiness. "Latif and Salima would like more children, but their financial problems might not allow it. "I thank god for blessing me with a beautiful daughter and we'd love more children. But I don't earn enough. No parent would want their child to suffer any health problems, but they do not want them to suffer financially either. "Latif has taken to begging to support his family as his sight problems mean he cannot get a job. He travels to Kashmir's capital city, Srinagar, every year for several months to make enough money to send home.

"I don't want to leave my daughter but I don't have much choice and I will have to leave in the Spring. I have to earn money to support my family and this is the only way I can," he added. Salima said Latif has been a wonderful husband and believes he will go on to make a great father. She said: "No matter what Latif looks like, I love being married to him. I don't regret one day as his wife. I like him just the way he is. His face is God's wish, we can't do much with it so we accept it and live our lives.

"But thankfully it was not the same wish for our daughter. Our prayers were answered and our baby is fine. We refuse to waste another minute worrying about it now. We will live our lives, happily." she said.

Crime / Man Burns Adulterous Lover To Death, Commits Suicide. by lonipeter(m): 5:09pm On Dec 12, 2012
A 46-year-old adulterous woman died recently after being sprinkled with petrol and set ablaze by a neighbour she had dumped for a younger lover. The lover went on to hang himself with a shirt in his cell at Sanyati police station.
Mary Dlamini of Lutuli Village reportedly informed Gesham Mapete (35) that she wanted out of the adulterous affair as she had found another potent and younger lover. This did not go down well with Mapete who suspected that he could have contracted a disease during the duration of the affair. Dlamini (46) died in the resultant inferno on Saturday night at around 8pm.

Mashonaland West police spokesperson Inspector Clemence confirmed the incident adding that Mapete who fled the scene soon after realising that Dlamini was on fire handed himself to the police the following morning. "We are investigating a matter in which a man set a woman on fire before going on the run for a few hours and later handing himself over to the police," he said. On the fateful night, Mapete who was holding a five-litre container of petrol went to Dlamini's house which is about 50 metres away and found her husband Jotham Choga (30) outside. He asked to see Dlamini and Choga who did not suspect anything told him she was in the kitchen. Mapete entered the kitchen and sprinkled petrol all over Dlamini before running out of the house fearing that she would catch fire while he was still inside. Dlamini also ran out of the house but upon realising that she had not caught fire, Mapete lit a matchstick and threw it at the woman setting her ablaze."She followed him outside and Mapete then lit a matchstick and set Dlamini on fire before fleeing to his house," said Insp Mabgweazara. He said Dlamini, who was now engulfed in flames, ran after Mapete but fell on the ground and died on reaching his bedroom.

The husband phoned the police in Sanyati who attended the scene and guarded the body before it was taken to Kadoma General Hospital for post-mortem. Insp Mabgweazara said after realising what he had done Mapete handed himself over to the police. "However, he hanged himself with a shirt in the cells on Monday night" he said. Inspector Mabgweazara warned people against taking the law into their own hands. He said the incident was unfortunate coming as it did as the nation was observing 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence.
Autos / Can Women Drive The Future Of The Car Industry? UPDATED: Dec 11, 2012 15:09 GMT by lonipeter(m): 7:44am On Dec 12, 2012
When Grace Lieblein started her career in a car assembly plant aged 18, she was a rare woman in a man's world. Today, 34 years on, she is president and managing director of General Motors, Brazil, and trying to persuade more young women to reach the top in the car industry. Lieblein says she has "gas in my veins." She studied engineering at what was then General Motors Institute, now Kettering University, in Flint, Michigan, and has worked for the company ever since.

Before moving to Brazil, she was chief engineer for vehicles such as the Buick Enclave and Chevy Traverse, and then president and managing director of General Motors in Mexico. "My feeling was always, I'm going to get in and I'm going to do the best job that I can and I will build my credibility from there" she said. "With that attitude I was able to win over some skeptics, and for those who maybe didn't change their mind, I figured that's their problem. That is not my problem."

Despite the progress, Lieblein is still working in a male-dominated environment. Women made up just under 21% of employees in car manufacturing in the United States, and 16% of executives and senior management, according to a 2010 Equal Opportunity Employment Commission report. Yet women buy 52% of all new cars in the United States, and influence more than 85% of sales, according to Forbes, so manufacturers should have a high incentive for reaching out to women.

Lieblein recognized this while working as chief engineer for the launch of the Buick Enclave in 2008. The car includes a dip in floor on the driver's side for women wearing high heels.

"The vehicle line executive was a woman, I was a chief engineer as a woman, my assistant chief engineer was a woman, a lot of my development engineers were women, our vehicle line director was a woman" said Lieblein. "I don't know if the vehicle would have turned out differently if we hadn't had been a part of it. "When we were launching the Buick Enclave or the Chevrolet Traverse, we did a lot of connection with mommy bloggers because we saw them as some of our key customers. It was a really great opportunity."

To encourage others to follow her into the boardroom, Lieblein has mentored young women, making sure they get the right assignments to make the most of their career. "I picked out five young women and I helped to move them where they needed to go," she said. "I was able to take (on) these women and I tried to make sure they got the right assignments. "When they look at senior leaders, they think that their life can only be work. So one thing that I really try and share with young people is that you can have a successful career but also a successful family life as well."

Also on Leading Women: How Scandinavia's 'CEO of ideas' puts creativity into action. While Lieblein and others have successfully risen through the ranks, the industry is struggling to attract and retain women in its senior positions. When Automotive News compiled its list of "100 Leading Women in the North American Automotive Industry" in 2010, it found fewer women in the most senior positions than on its previous list in 2005. There were just two women CEOs in 2010, down from five in 2005, and 51 women with executive officer titles, compared with 64 in 2005.

Deloitte carried out a survey of the 100 leading women to find out what was going wrong. Its report "Women at the Wheel" found 56% of the women said their companies did not have an active recruitment program targeting women, and none thought the school system encouraged girls to pursue careers in the industry. One senior woman told the report that engineering needed to improve its image in line with the "Hollywood-ization" of other careers such as medicine and law.

There are programs encouraging women in the industry. The Detroit-based Automotive Women's Alliance Foundation and the Women's Automotive Association International both offer scholarships to help women pursue careers in the industry. Also on Leading Women: Sarah Sillars, outgoing executive chair of the Institute of the Motor Industry, which represents car retailers, is about to take over as chief executive of the Sector Skills Council for Science, Engineering and Manufacturing Technologies.

"We have got an image problem, and I don't think the industry has done enough to educate teachers, parents and careers advisers about opportunities and what it's like to work in the motor trade," said Sillars. "There are lots of companies that go into schools in their localities, but we need to do that on a broader scale." She said getting more girls to consider a career in engineering would be one of her top three priorities in her new job at the Sector Skills Council.
Lieblein, too, believes the task starts in schools, persuading girls to consider engineering.

"What we can do is really try and reach out to girls in middle school and high school, talk to them about maths and science, make 'em know they're capable and how interesting it can be".

Foreign Affairs / North Korea Carries Out Controversial Launch. UPDATED: Dec 12, 2012 03:52 GMT by lonipeter(m): 6:56am On Dec 12, 2012
North Korea surprised and angered the international community Wednesday by launching a long-range rocket just days after suggesting it would be delayed. The secretive North Korean regime said the rocket had successfully blasted off from a space center on its west coast and claimed the satellite it was carrying had entered its intended orbit. The launch followed a botched attempt in April. Neighboring countries confirmed that the rocket had taken off Wednesday morning and flown south over the Japanese island of Okinawa, but they didn't say whether it had succeeded in putting a satellite in orbit. North Korea claimed in 2009 that a rocket that fell into the Pacific Ocean had successfully launched a satellite.
Read: why lunch the rocket now?

Many nations, such as the United States and South Korea, consider the launch to be a cover for testing ballistic missile technology. The nuclear-armed North has insisted its aim was to place a scientific satellite in space. Britain was quick to condemn Pyongyang's move on Wednesday, saying it breached U.N. Security Council resolutions. "This provocative act will increase tensions in the region". Foreign Secretary William Hague said in a statement. He said he deplored the fact that North Korea "has chosen to prioritize this launch over improving the livelihood of its people."

"This provocative act will increase tensions in the region,"

Britain will "urgently consult" with other members of the Security Council about the response to the launch, Hague said. The launch came as a surprise to the United States, which did not expect it to take place Wednesday, a senior U.S. official said.

The Japanese government said it believed one part of the rocket came down in the sea off the Korean Peninsula, a second part dropped into the East China Sea and a third fell into waters near the Philippines.

Read more: What does North Korea's planned rocket launch mean?
"It is extremely regrettable that North Korea forced the launch despite our protest," Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Osamu Fujimura said at a news conference in Tokyo. "It is not acceptable, and we strongly protest against it."
"The rocket appeared to follow the trajectory that would have been expected, a U.S. official said, cautioning that data were still being analyzed. South Korea's semi-official news agency Yonhap reported that President Lee Myung-bak has convened an emergency security meeting in Seoul. A launch had seemed unlikely to take place so soon after North Korea announced Monday that it was extending the launch window into late December, citing technical issues in an engine.

Previous launch attempts by the North in 2006 and 2009 failed to achieve their stated goal of putting a satellite into orbit and provoked international condemnation. Pyongyang had said this rocket launch would be "true to the behests" of Kim Jong Il, the late North Korean leader and father of Kim Jong Un, head of the ruling regime. Kim Jong Il died on December 17 last year, so the first anniversary of his death falls within the launch window that North Korea has announced.

Experts had also speculated that Pyongyang wanted this launch to happen before the end of 2012, the year that marks the centenary of the birth of Kim Il Sung, the founder of North Korea and grandfather of Kim Jong Un.

Politics / Jonathan Assures Nigerians Stable Power Supply From June 2013 by lonipeter(m): 8:12pm On Nov 25, 2012
Jonathan assures Nigerians stable power supply from June 2013. Saturday, 24 November 2012, Sweetcrude, Abuja -President

Goodluck Jonathan has assured Nigerians of stable supply of electricity in major cities by the end of second quarters of next year. Jonathan spoke in Islamabad, Pakistan at an interactive session with the Nigerian community in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

The event hosted by the Nigerian High Commissioner to Pakistan, Dauda Danladi was part of the activities on the sidelines of the Summit of Eight Developing Nations (D-cool being attended by the President.

Responding to questions raised by some of the guests, the President said his administration had overcome the challenges of power generation to a very large extent. He identified the major challenge to be that of evacuation of the generated electricity due to poor infrastructure.“Presently, we are generating more than whatour transmission capability can evacuate.

“We have over 1000 megawatts of power that we cannot evacuate because of the transmission infrastructure that have been weak over the years and it was very recently that government started the intervention.“But, we have projects that are going on, so before the end of the second quarter, almost middle of next year, most of these projects would have been inaugurated and we will be evacuating power generated. “At that time, quite a number of cities will begin to have 24 hour of light.“When we get to that point you will see that small scale enterprises will begin to make returns and that is the way we can create jobs,’’ he said.

The President told the gathering that his administration had also made improvements on other sectors like roads, aviation, Agriculture and other infrastructure.
TV/Movies / Ada Mbano- Igbo Version Of Jennifer? by lonipeter(m): 3:29pm On Nov 23, 2012
I walked into a restaurant in Aba one Monday night and met an Igbo movie playing. I wasn't interested in it cos I don't really understand the language, but it later caught my attention when I started hearing exclamations and mannerisms of the lead actress resembling that portrayed in Jennifer, and all through the time I was there I couldn't see anything in the movie that was a different idea. (the movie 'Jennifer' has been making waves in Nigeria, especially the southwest for more than two years). I later asked an attendant what the title of the movie is and she said 'ada mbano' or so. Is this movie the Igbo version (or forgery) of Jennifer?

Religion / Re: Suppose It Is True? by lonipeter(m): 4:13pm On Nov 22, 2012
You will be making a very big mistake if you're thinking of repenting on the sickbed, do you know the percentage of people who die on the sick bed? Very little, I guess, compared with those who die haven planned their meals for the next day. And who told you Christians are living miserably? Jesus is also interested in your success on earth as well as your eternity, check the list of the most successful Nigerians and see what percentage of them are Christians. Let me remind you that this is not about professing religion, it's about saving you from the wrath to come. Decide today, Tomorrow may just be too late!
Religion / Suppose It Is True? by lonipeter(m): 1:33pm On Nov 22, 2012
You may have been trying so hard to convince yourself that the Gospel is not true. But have you ever paused for a moment to ask yourself: 'Suppose it is true'?

You say it is not true, because it cannot be substantiated with facts and figures. You cannot accept it because you were not born into it, or because your close friends and allies do not believe it. But wait and ponder a while:

Suppose it is true, that God exists? "...for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." Hebrews 11:6.

Suppose it is true that, "Nor is there Salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." Acts 4:12.

Suppose it is true that, "And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this, the judgement." Hebrews 9:27.

Suppose you don't get to live as long as you may wish, to accept the message late in life, because you believe the gospel is to be accepted late in life- after 'enjoying life'. "...behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation." II Corinthians 6:2.

Suppose there is no other time like this to read this eternal message again? The Bible gives an account of people in Noah's generation, who never gave a thought to this same eternal question. They had their reasons for disbelieving Noah. The Ark that was built by Noah through God's counsel was to be the only escape route, but the people mocked at and rejected it. The flood eventually came as God said and only those in the Ark were saved. Suppose this is your own escape route? Suppose this is the only lifeline you have left?

Today, Jesus is the Ark, the only escape from the wrath to come. Do you believe this? Have you ever given it a thought? There was no room for those in Noah's time to change their minds after the door of the Ark had been closed. However, you still have a chance, as the door of our Ark is still open.

Beloved, it is true that God exists. It is true that there is Heaven and Hell. It is true that life on earth will end and it will end when you least expected. It is true that Jesus Christ is coming again. It is true that we will stand before the judgement seat of God. It is true that God is no respecter of persons. If you do not accept JESUS CHRIST as your LORD and PERSONAL SAVIOUR, you will definitely accept Him as your JUDGE.

I therefore urge you to accept the gift of God's Son today, confess your sins and forsake them. Hear what the Scripture says, "That whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved." (Acts 2:21). Remember, your choice today determines your destiny in eternity. Shalom!
Education / Make A Difference, However How Little by lonipeter(m): 11:08am On Nov 20, 2012
A young man was walking down a deserted Mexican beach at sunset. As he walked along, he began to see another man in the distance. As he grew nearer, he noticed that the local native kept leaning down, picking something up and throwing it out into the water. Time and again he kept hurling things out into the ocean. As the man approached even closer, he noticed that the native was picking up starfish that had washed up on the beach, and, one at a time, he was throwing them back into the water. The man was puzzled. He approached the native and said. "Good evening, friend. I was wondering what you are doing."
"I'm throwing these starfish back into the ocean. You see its low tide right now and all these starfish have been washed up onto the shore. If I dont throw them back into the sea, they'll die up here from lack of oxygen." "I understand," the man replied, "but there must be thousands of starfish on this beach. You can't possibly get to all of them. There are simply too many. And don't you realize this is probably happening on hundreds of beaches all up and down this coast. Can't you see that you can't possibly make a difference?" The local native smiled, bent down and picked up yet another starfish, and as he threw it back into the sea, he replied, "Made a difference to that one!"

Moral: Do your part, it makes a difference!
