Dating And Meet-up ZoneRe: How Do I Make Friends In A New Town by Lorayne(m): 1:29pm On Feb 25
I am 24 years and very happy most of the time. I will have days where I'll be happy and feel like I have the best life, and then there are days like today, when I feel so down and depressed and want to cry for no reason.

I born and bred in northern nigeria, though I'm a native of the south. I currently reside in port harcourt. I'm sad most of the times because I don't have friends around me.. Its difficult to blend in because the social lifestyle in port harcourt is a little extreme and most of the friends that try to get close are usually guys, and I'm cautious of things getting a little complicated.

I just rounding up my NYSC, and as a medical professional,.most of my female colleagues are quite older than I am, and mostly married and so its difficult to be close friends with them. Most of the time I come back from the clinic, straight home to my empty house, no friends, no family, and the cycle goes on and on. I wish I had a home to go to oranywhere at all, even if its with a family setting at least. I'm not home sick. Not at all. I've been in the boarding school since I was 8 and had an accommodation outside my family home in the university. Its just that I miss a close human communication.

I have people that I get along with, but I never had that closeness. I wonder if its because of me, but I don't know how to build a friend base.
Another thing is that the few friends I try to make always have hanging out ideas that are not decent for me..
I am not a saint but I'm decent and reserved and I believe in moderation.
I'm also attractive and so I have a good number of guys who request to hang out on a platonic level. But I feel guilty going out with a guy even on a casual date, because I have a boyfriend (the sweetest in the world),though he isn't always around. I just don't like the idea of having guys all around me to avoid insecurities and feelings of hurt in the process.

I really need to get past with this stage because it really hurts, and it has been on for a long time, and now that I'm almost done with my service, it will be worse because I won't even work at the clinic anymore.

Please how do I make a friend(s) in my situation. cry
hmm

You mentioned "attractive" . I believe you're referring to physical attraction.

When I started, I was slim af, broke as hell, and far from what you'd call attractive. Yet I STILL smashed loads of girls.

How? I focused on other attractive qualities women are drawn to.

You see, while physical attractiveness is helpful, women like other attractive qualities. When you display this, she FEELS it.

The only thing I'll say is that if you're physically unattractive, you have to seduce women differently from a good looking guy.
Can you elaborate on this, boss?

And if you can help with books or resources...
RomanceRe: Reality Every Guy Need To Know ( STRICTLY REDPILL) ... by Lorayne(m): 12:33pm On Dec 28, 2025
Rizzputin:
This is a great point. I've made this remark in the past many times.

The best way to learn about women is to copy/study/follow guys around you that are great women. Their mannerisms, vibes, words etc. Nothing will teach you faster than this.

When I started, while studying about pick up from my mentors... i went out with guys i knew that were doing well with women. Combined both what i studied with what they did and now I'm way better than all of them.

In fact, some of them are like "Bro teach me na. How did you just get good so fast" it was simple: I studied AND observed.

But there are TWO VERY IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE:

>>>>1) You have to know what you're looking out for.
A big reason guys will have friends that do great with women but still fail is because they have no clue about what works.

They dont what to copy OR why he's doing what he's doing. That's why after studying, YOU MUST practice. No amount of book reading will help you if you dont practice yourself

That way, you can compare what you're doing to what he's doing. For example, when he says a particular thing in a situation you've seen before ... your brain registers how and what he said. So when you see it again, you can test it

Seduction is A SKILL. If you dont treat it like one, you'll never get good

>>>>>>2) The women your friend is smashing have to be really good looking.

Each time I tell guys this they're quick to tell me: "Yes they're fine" BUT when I see the girls I'm always disappointed. No matter how much these guys promised me I wont be disappointed lol.

The reason for this is because you want to train your subconscious to enjoy beautiful women.

When I was really broke, the most common phrase my guys told me was "Guy you like going for things wey big pass you"

While they went for average women, I went for the hottest all the time.

You want to get used to beautiful women so you can see how NOT special they are
I think learning these skills will help greatly only If you attractive.

Doesn't apply to unattractive men

Declarations come to pass when you work toward them.

A few months ago, I lost my job at the bank. I didn’t panic because I still had my American job, but the loss definitely affected my living standards. I had been planning to move into a better apartment, but that dream had to wait. Still, I kept my composure and focused on maintaining myself.

At the time, I couldn’t really look for another job I was in the final stage of my master’s degree, and my thesis demanded every ounce of energy I had. Once I presented it, I finally had a bit of breathing room and started job hunting again.

A month later, I landed a role with a company in Canada. I kept searching, though, because I once told Gerrard59 that I would replace my two jobs with three and I meant it.

On Friday, I received another offer this time from a Chilean bank, even better than the one I used to work for. The salary is higher, the benefits are stronger, and the environment seems far more promising. Oh, and I almost forgot I also got an offer from Deloitte Chile, but it was an on-site position, and I had to turn it down.

All’s well that ends well. The university even invited me to pursue a doctorate, but I declined. Right now, I want to work and build wealth. I spent most of my 20s in Nigeria fighting to survive my 30s are for working with relentless focus to defeat poverty, brutally and completely.
Do you have to grind leetcode for all these jobs?
TravelRe: Between Japan And Austria For Masters — Which Is Better For Work Opportunities by Lorayne(m): 1:45pm On Oct 25, 2025

No, I am not in tech. However, I have two friends who work for a Japanese tech company and are well paid. The three of us graduated from Japanese universities. Recently, an acquaintance from Benin Republic got a job right after she graduated (a Japanese university). Her internship was also at one the big tech firms.

As I stated here:

I know nothing about C# other than it is much harder than Python. To know more about the job market and what it demands, use LinkedIn location search feature. Search for jobs and change the location to Japan or Tokyo.
Thank you for your response.

Guess it's time to start learning Japanese.

Good, but you have to be good to get a company to employ you while outside the country. To increase your chances, especially against applicants from Southeast Asia and India, a minimum of three years of work experience is vital. The language skills is also important as most companies will be Japanese centric. But being in the country and having the skills supercedes the language. That is, provided you reside in the country and have the skills, your chances of getting a job are higher than having the skills while being outside the country.
Nice.. thanks.
Seems you are in tech too?
Is C# .Net widely used?

Gerrard59:
What program do you want to study? How do you intend to fund your postgraduate degree?

I live in Japan, and it is great, but like everything in life, it is tied to the value you offer. The language is extremely crucial in getting a job, and do your best to get the job before you graduate, as most Japanese students do. Here, you get the job BEFORE you graduate, not AFTER. If you can, target the April admission session so you graduate in March 2028. Through this, you participate in the job hunting process like most Japanese. So, more job fairs and companies seeking to employ new grads. Part-time jobs aren't an issue. Scholarships are plentiful (check StudyInJapan).

Japan is incredibly safe. Stay within the laws, follow the rules and social norms, and there would be no problem. However, if you seek a higher currency vis-à-vis remittances, the Yen is not high.

PS. If your intended program isn't engineering or hardcore sciences, you are better off enrolling in a language school before you begin a master's program as jobs in non-STEM fields prioritise above intermediate or almost fluent Japanese. Your competitors are Chinese, Koreans, Vietnamese and increasingly Nepalese, all of whom study the language before coming here. The first two have a historical linguistic advantage over everyone else.

Gabrielshow24:
Diversify brother. You will thank me later. The competition is stiff out there. Become a polyglot😁. It might take you years but strive for it. Since you are familiar with Js, then learn: Svelte + sveltekit, Vue + nuxtjs and Solidjs among others. The above is enough to answer as a qualified full stack😁 but unfortunately in one language👀.

From the backend, you can learn something like Ruby(Rails), Rust(Axum, leptos, Rocket, Actix), php(Laravel, code igniter etc), Python(flask, Django or fast API), Go(Gin, gonic etc), Elixir(Phoenix), Node(Express + ejs or Nestjs). You can combine this with whatsoever database you like😁. Try and experiment with them🤤.

That's the difference. Also, be solid in your use of bash, Linux and Shell👀. You might want to add shellscript as an added advantage perhaps for scripting although you can achieve the same with python. If you don't want to be polyglot as in programming languages then you can be polyglot in frameworks by adding either desktop or mobile frameworks. React Native comes to mind since you are already familiar with React or you learn Dart or Kivy etc., as for Desktop, you can use Electron or Python Guis or .Net🤕.

With the above, you can diversify anywhere in tech. Systems, Backend, Data analysis, Gui, CGI, Blockchain(Rust, Js, Ts and Python), Desktop, Mobile etc... Cyber security will require a different stack but with your knowledge of python, and shell; you will just add to it: Selenium, Docker, C(not necessary though) along with the rest.

Best of luck😊.
Lol

Still curious... Has he gotten sense yet?
