Jose Peseiro. If he had been fired after the Zimbabwe game, no one would have shed a tear. He would have earned it too. The results were heartbreaking.

Then, #AFCON2023  started. We didn’t win our first game but no one could rightly knock the coach because the team created several chances. His job had been done even when the job wasn’t completely done on the pitch.

Then, 1-0 against Côte d’Ivoire, 1-0 against GNB, 2-0 against a neighbour we now love beating - Cameroon - and then 1-0 against Angola…a trend was apparent. Peseiro-ball was clear. Score by all means, never concede.

Then came South Africa, a team we’ve always found joy against. Peseiro-ball was facing its fiercest test yet. The first half was so messy I was beginning to see the Peseiro attacks on Twitter again. I couldn’t do that myself because I had already been converted by the man, so, I kept

The GKs with the most cleansheets at the tournament.

Our own, Stanley Nwabali

And

SA's Ronwen Williams.

And both play in the SA PSL.

One will concede. Another will not. One will come out with 5 cleansheets and head to the final. The other will stay on four cleansheets and head to Third place playoff.

It's The Super Eagles all the way.
Is the penalty not counted
Or is clean sheet for 90min alone?

Guys, as a footballer what do you have to take or train yourself to have osimehn energy. As a pundit, the way the guy hustle for every ball and presses has to be studied. He hustles like a fast animal this one na Kante of a striker

the same iwobi I made many here to understand that he is the most important player in our midfield. His level of intelligence and awareness can’t be compared to any currently in our team

Bobo na Arsenal groomed player which is evident in his style of play. The very reason wenger trusted him and brought him to the first team when he wasn’t even among the best in his set playing for Arsenal’s youth teams

Fellow Nairalanders,

I'm pleased to wish you a Happy New Year!!

2024 will be the year of Nairaland's resurgence. I will face Nairaland squarely like I used to before the discouraging Data Loss Incident of 2014. I will hire more hands to help us to improve Nairaland.

The problems of Nairaland that we should have solved years ago will be solved.

* We will defeat tribalists, trolls, & spammers.
* We will complete our advertising platform.
* We will improve the UI and UX.
* Home page topics will be educative & fresh.
* We will reverse the anti-women trends.

However, I must warn you that things will get worse before they get better. Please stand with us and fight for us as Nairaland faces the tough challenges of 2024, which have already started.

Happy New Year and thanks for using Nairaland!

Seun Osewa,
Nairaland's Founder.

How did you mean one is static and the other a roamer? If Osimhen is the static one, why not bench him for Awoniyi while Boniface roams, after all, the EPL is better than Serie A?

Or better yet, bench Boniface in order to play two static strikers with no one to roam. Oga you can not leave out your player that plays in the EPL just because you want a balance and a stable team. Don't tell me that please. 😡.

Now I understand.
When you quote someone don't remove this at the beginning

) if I did it will highlight it cus it html) this at the ending it will automatically highlight it. We learn everyday, I still don't know how to use all this

Chairman, you're one of the few people on here whose takes I respect deeply but I think most of you are grossly exaggerating this whole friendly match thing. It's almost as if we're stuck on the minor negatives and overlooking the significant positives. The Saudi game for example was a case of terrible goal keeping and us missing some easy chances, infact Saudi had more goal threatening attempts against Mali compared to us (good thing I watched the game to get some comparative perspective). I can't remember Uzoho making one single point blank save all 90 mins against Saudi save for that one speculative through pass he came out on time to save late in the first half, same against Mozambique. The Saudi approach against Mali was very different from ours and it can be argued Mancini showed us more respect cause he lined up Saudi to play a high line attacking formation against Mali, he clearly underestimated how very clinical and rapid the Malian team is on the break...two of the Mali goals came from long balls over the top to their pacey forwards who (unlike our forwards) took their chances with aplomb. Saudi played more compact against us yet we played through their defence couple of times with some good attacking combinations, save for very poor finishing/positioning by our fwds the scoreline should have looked less flattering to the Saudis. At the end friendly matches are meant to gauge loopholes in the team, it remains to be seen if the coaching team can fix those obvious loopholes by inviting better players and replacing the rubbish ones- both friendly matches clearly showed we will never struggle with creating an overload of goal scoring opportunities against any team, but we will be let down by our abysmal goal keeping situation and our never ending inability to defend easy set pieces..
Bro take this little advice.
Try giving space (like stanzas) when you write. A lot of people here will not read what you wrote no matter how interesting and educating it may be.
