mine here. my sweet ride.

Am so lucky. my gear was such a sensitive one. its A 13 PIN gear system. according to experts, its the most delicate gear when it comes to Toyota cars. I also has seen 3 persons who's gear box failed after work was done on their shaft, oil change, seal change etc. I have learned a valuable lesson through this ordeal. I will always make sure I assume a supervisory role any time I visit an auto workshop. The ignorant apprentice almost ruined my car. These set of precautions must be strictly followed when word is to be done on a vehicle drive train or power train: 1)TO AVOID MEMORY LOSS- battery heads are to be unplugged before working the drive shaft, axle, hube etc. 2)TEMPRATURE IS A RISK FACTOR- give about 24 hours before work is to done on the drive shaft, gear oil change, and oil seal change 3)AVOID DIRT BY ALL MEANS- clean the shaft sockets, bearing before reinstallation 4)IGNITION KEY- never ever leave ignition key on the ignition when doing any work on ur car. even if na ordinary air filter sensor. lol. (I go fear precaution na). JACKS- make sure jacks are properly place when working on ur car. Goodluck to prospective car repairers. |
Kashif:its all good. The gear box bottom plate was removed after draining all the oil , the valve body was the removed. it was hard locating which solenoid was SL1, so all the solenoid was removed n cleaned, tested with battery to determined if its clicking. after cleaning of the valve body n all the solenoids, and was about to be replaced, a gear specialist who came from Lagos that very day to fix another gear box came n inspected the gear oil filter. he found out that it was dented and could not pass oil as expected. so, he queried why it was dented and discovered that the bottom plate too was dented ( I knew it wasn't me cos av never hit anything I cn remember) too. After investigation, it was found that while the engine seatings were being removed and replaced, a jack was placed under the gear bottom-plate by a careless apprentice. the jack was what depressed the bottom-plate which in turn depressed the filter which may have also lead to an SL1 stuck off. So we bought a new filter too but by the time we coupled everything together, it was already late. fast-forward today; we put everything in place and toped the oil to gauge and test drove the car. we kept driving this car from time to time till 4pm and nothing negative happened. so, that's how I paid off everyone and left with my car. though the car is still on the watch list in-case the issue resurfaces(I believe it wont). it was nice listening to all your input on thinks. |
disloman:I was there all tru |
mayor2013:Toyota oil T4 |
Kashif:Thanks dear. am in port-hacourt. Eleme to be precise. the oil has just been drained in order to inspect the shift solenoid SL1 on the valve body. |
Kashif: |
Kashif:This is the process/order of repair 1) vehicle arrive in the workshop on Saturday. shocks, camber, pads n ball joint disassembled. 2)skip sunday- then on Monday hub n shaft was disassembled. its was discovered that the inner bearing and cup had no grease, was so rusted and slightly disintegrated due to exposure to mucky water. hence the need for replacement. 3) on Tuesday, the right leg shaft was also removed to inspect in order to inspect n replace the oil seal. Prior to this, the oil seal leaked oil in drops. so, during this process, 30% of the gear oil leaked out. 4) on Wednesday, all dis assembled parts were refitted back with new ones. the right and left shaft also replace after the oil seal was put in place. the transmission oil too was toped. then the car was started n test driven for a while without any issue coming up. but by the time I drove the car to a distance of about 3mile, the car began to stall n wont respond to throttle and would engage n disengage at will. so that's how I got to this P0746 error code. |
MPVGoddess:i say what went wrong. I took the car there on a Saturday, and on a Monday it was pulled out. the had more than 30hours to cool down... |
GAZZUZZ:yes. I took the car there on Saturday, and on Monday it was pulled out. the had more than 30hours to cool down.. |
Dear auto gurus of nairaland, I need urgent possible explanation and solution to a transmission problem with my 2005 rx330. I took the car to an auto mechanic to replace the drive shaft( the inner cup and bearing to be precise), driver side shaft oil seal and also to replace all the brake pads, shocks, ball joint, linkages, camber, engine seatings etc. Car drove well after all the repair but suddenly developed fault after about 3 miles distance drive. the gear will disengage at will and wont accelerate even when it manages to engage. so I had to manage and take the car back to the auto workshop where it was diagnosed and a P0746 code(- Pressure Control Solenoid A Performance or Stuck Off) was discovered as the reason the car had the problem. my question now I; 1- what could possible cause this sudden problem to the gear box? 2- could it be that the shaft replacement could trigger a damage to the gear box( - Pressure Control Solenoid A Performance or Stuck Off)? 3- what ways can this issue be resolved? am not happy about this cos a lot have been spent already. pls, I need your advice. |

GAZZUZZ:Lol. Funny guy. There tires are wide enough to create more balance as it gained height . |
Bossforeva:. U are right. It's same car. |
@gamebuss007, this is what I got as per the Bluetooth version . But I dnt really need the Bluetooth version. I use an iPhone, and I gues the Bluetooth version of OBD will not be compatible with IPhone . I need the wifi version ,which unfortunately is not available on konga. Don't know if u have an idea where I can get it.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has revealed why the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate Dakuku Peterside was not qualified to run for the April governorship election. Wike who made this claim through his Counsel, Emmanuel Ukala, SAN, at the Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja, said the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, rules governing nomination of candidates was not observed by the APC candidate. “The APC did not observe the 21 days Electoral Act declaration under which it is to notify INEC of its candidate before its primary elections. “So, the document presented by APC on Nov. 18, 2014 notifying INEC of its candidate does not in any way go with the provisions of the electoral law. “Time is needed to be given to INEC within 21 days of notice under Section 85(1) of the electoral act to produce a candidate to be held, failing which the convention is deemed to be unlawful and a nullity,’’ he argued Ukala therefore prayed the court to strike out some paragraphs in the petition against Wike because convention/primary elections held on Dec. 4 that produced the APC candidate to run for the 2015 general election was null and void. In addition, Ulaka stated that President of the Court of Appeal did not consult anyone in the State before constituting members of the panel, adding that the tribunal had no territorial jurisdiction to sit in Abuja. He also urged the tribunal to discountenance a document produced at the tribunal notifying INEC of the time the APC would conduct its convention and primary elections. “My argument is on admissibility of this document, a certified true copy of a document can under any circumstances be admitted from the bar but that is not a gateway for breaching all rules of procedure and letting in all manners of document. “The law governing proceedings in election petition does not contemplate the admissibility of document, the document in question is supposed to be the property of the 2nd petitioner; that is the APC. “The petitioner has been in the possession of the document, why didn’t he present it before now; based on the fact presented by him, the document is not relevant,’’ Ukala stressed. Both counsels to INEC, Onyechi Ipeazu and counsels to the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Ifedayo Adedipe and Wole Olanipekun, SANs all agreed with Ukala’s submission. Meanwhile, Counsel to Peterside, Akin Olujimi, argued that his client was duly nominated in accordance with the law of the electoral act. Olujimi stated that the issue of proper nomination should only be resolved at a trial and not on preliminary objection, adding that the issue as raised by Wike could only come on cross petition. He therefore urged the court to dismiss the application on grounds that it had no validity and that Section 138 of the Electoral Act backed up his argument. According to Olujimi, the whole argument on territorial jurisdiction by all the respondents is base on misconception and misconstruction of Section 285(2) of the Constitution “The error of the application is that they took the language of constitution wrongly and misinterpreted it. “Once a tribunal is established, it is recognised up to the Appeal Court level, so the section of the Constitution quoted by my learned counsels is perfectly illustrated. Wike’s victory at Rivers Tribunal: Why Peterside was ineligible to run for governor April 11 election was challenged by the APC claiming the election was rigged and marred with violence of various degrees. The tribunal therefore adjourned sitting to rule on eligibility of the APC candidate and the issue of territorial jurisdiction to July 29 and July 31. It also adjourned sitting till July 23 to hear some other motions before it.

Thanks guys. I will make my decision after due costly action and research on all y'all suggestions . |
Siena:Oga Siena, thanks for this info. I am suspecting that the car is consuming a lot of fuel. It's best for me to do diagnosis first before I take the car to an auto tech. |
Does anyone use any of the OBD diagnostic scan tools available to read engine/ecu fault codes? I am looking at buying one for my RX330 and would like some peoples opinions on which scan tools they have used and which type they used. Which is best... either the stand alone units that plug straight in or laptop based software connected via usb cable to scan plug. Thanks.

I will upload evidence that the university has alot of mordern structures and has trained students to 400 level already. More than 300 staff was employed in this very otuoke university. PROPAGANDA can never help apc. |
