RaptorX: Despite all his repeated attempts at becoming president even to the extent of crying about his inability to save Nigeria, you would think he had something in his empty skull to offer only to drag the country back 30 years. I still believe GEJ shouldn't have placed that congratulatory call and refuse to handover, let him soak all his baboons and monkeys in blood all he wants. |

Politics › Bukola Saraki For President 2027, Obi VP: The Turbulent Arena Of Nigerian Politi by LordviccoDaGuru(op): 2:21pm On Aug 17, 2024 |
In the turbulent arena of Nigerian politics, we find ourselves yet again in the throes of a grand spectacle. The political landscape has always been a battleground, and as we march towards 2027, the wheels of destiny seem to be churning out a most intriguing combination: Bukola Saraki for President, with Peter Obi as his Vice President.

But let us not be distracted by the superficial allure of this potential pairing. We must cast our minds back to the tumultuous 2023 presidential elections, a time when the air was thick with animosity and ethnocentric fervor. The Igbo people, in their vociferous opposition to President Buhari, painted him as the ultimate villain—a scourge upon the nation. Yet, the irony is as rich as it is perplexing, for the same Buhari has now been canonized as the messiah of modern Nigeria, an enigma whose legacy will be debated for generations to come.
And what of Peter Obi, this political chameleon who has transformed from a venerated figure into what can only be described as a mercurial harlot, flitting from one political party to another with the capriciousness of a summer breeze? His once steadfast loyalty to the Labour Party—a loyalty that was sworn upon the very fabric of his being—has now evaporated like the morning dew, as he boldly strides into the arms of the People's Democratic Party (PDP).
This is the same Obi who, with an almost messianic zeal, vowed that he would rather perish than abandon the Labour Party. Yet, here we stand, bearing witness to the ultimate act of political apostasy. His social media sycophants, once loud in their adulation, now find themselves at a loss, scrambling to justify the inexplicable.
Indeed, the political harlotry of Peter Obi is but a microcosm of the broader instability that plagues our political discourse. It is a reminder that in the game of thrones that is Nigerian politics, there are no permanent friends or enemies—only permanent interests. The 2023 elections were a battlefield, where the hatred for President Buhari was palpable, a searing heat that could melt even the most resolute of hearts. Yet, as time has passed, we see a reconfiguration of narratives, with Buhari now being extolled as the savior who brought us from the brink of the abyss.
In this context, the prospect of a Bukola Saraki-Peter Obi ticket for 2027 presents itself as both a paradox and a promise. It is a union that encapsulates the contradictions of our political journey—a journey marked by betrayal, reinvention, and the relentless pursuit of power.
So, as we approach this new chapter, let us reflect on the lessons of the past. Let us remember that in politics, as in life, the only constant is change. And let us brace ourselves for the coming storm, knowing full well that in the end, history will judge us not by our intentions, but by our actions.
