Gratefulme:

InvestmentRe: Equity Investment. by LoriHamo:
I do not understand why even some bank staff discourage people from even MMF.... talking about insurance bla bla bla..

I had that same fear.... infact....I started with fixed deposit @7% ....then migrated to Tbills......MMF.....Equity

I first read about MMF from Facebook but didn't bother...I later decided to search for info on Google and landed in Nairaland from there.....

But this thread ultimately led me into investing in equity....

Iamblessed8888:
Lol you are right. They should have official reps here.
I used to think equity is where you put money and wake up and it vanishes. Come to find out there’s even a +|_ 10% daily shield on upside and losses.
InvestmentRe: Equity Investment. by LoriHamo: 7:21pm On Mar 06
Yes....I noticed...

I tasted the waters with small 10k in both of them....

I will be throwing in small change there going forward as well..

EquityM:
Yes, but Paramount and Zedcrest did well this week, and Zrosk as well. Nevertheless, we hope for better gains, and once Dangote launches his refinery shares to NGX, the market will go nuts. Lastly, the key to equity is timing; head out to the market earlier to see gains before the sluggish season starts.
InvestmentRe: Equity Investment. by LoriHamo: 4:03pm On Mar 06
This week was very very slow....even days the ASI were nominally "green"...

Some portfolios returned RED....but the only take away from this is that it was minimal.....in some instances almost negligent....

Happy weekend my people....

EquityM:
I began at the end of January. Enormous profits from Zrosk. Additionally, the market was a little slow this week, but it will soon pick up steam.
InvestmentRe: Equity Investment. by LoriHamo: 8:06pm On Mar 04
Easy bros.....they showed me shege and the mail I tried to send bounced back....

I forgot about the money and only remember to check one morning while I was discussing investments with a friend and boom...I saw it had reflected less the whole amount shaaaa.....

I would never "top up " .....not interested in the same wahala abeg

dammiecool:
I go soon comot my money from there.
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by LoriHamo: 8:02pm On Mar 04
Hahahaha.... are you not going to FUND the portfolio?

Meanwhile.....be explicit so you can get help....

Which account did you open
Which app
Which account were you asked to pay to?( Usually, the custodian is always different from the initiating "bank" Incase of Stanbic(UBA) I think Gtbank is Citi Bank or so

Thanos1000:
Thanks boss
Really appreciate. I opened the app already and locate the MMF. Went through all the process but it says I'll transfer the money to another account.. Had to hold on right there. Thought I won't be transferring any amount and it'll just to be to register and that's it... Pls is it how it use to be
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by LoriHamo: 11:59am On Mar 04
You can actually get info in Stanbic IBTC and GTBank customer service IN THE BANK.... about their MMF...

Thanos1000:
There were some people that asked about how to start and they were directed to go to their banks. That was why i did the same thing
InvestmentRe: Equity Investment. by LoriHamo:
I use INVESTNAIJA app

Iamblessed8888:
How do you invest in equity MMF using paramount app? When i click invest, the only thing i see is individual stocks
InvestmentRe: Equity Investment. by LoriHamo: 9:02am On Mar 04
It was green yesterday....

Good morning boss

EquityM:
Do not enter, run, flee, and never look back. How is your Paramount? It did well yesterday.
InvestmentRe: Equity Investment. by LoriHamo: 8:12am On Mar 04
Looks like the Alpha funds is taking a "bungee jump" abi na nose-diving....

EquityM:
CSOF at 55% YTD. It might do 100+ YTD by the end of the year.
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by LoriHamo: 11:57pm On Mar 03
Lol

Are you joking or something?

doggedfighter:
Wow, project just from earnings.

You must have up to a billion there .

Wow !
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by LoriHamo: 4:06pm On Mar 03
I actually entered before the "merging"

Preator:
How are you enjoying the NGX? Are you doing the ARM/Meristem/Afriinvest/Ucap mix or you entered before cowrywise did their amalgamation of funds?
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by LoriHamo: 2:45pm On Mar 03
I follow complain that thing o

In fact I am waiting for 90 days to vamooose from there.....

I no do again mbok

Iamblessed8888:
Infact even if some fund managers are doing 100%, i no do 😂😂. Fund administration is more important for me than fund performance.

Someone was complaining on the other group that you see different amount when you click different places on one app like that 😂😂
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by LoriHamo: 2:07pm On Mar 03
Make @Iamblessee8888 no see this your message....na another round of bashing for "mushroom" fund managers be that o

Hahahhahaha

😎😎😎😎

bassdow:
So a particular Fund manager after almost 5 days, choose to drop 1-day worth of interest. What about the rest ?

e be like say I go just siddon with those who update daily as I hate not knowing what's happening. Difficult telling what rate was used.
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by LoriHamo: 2:05pm On Mar 03
Na wao....

Not updating daily is a recipe for "scam" abeg....

Infact....it should be updated at the close of work sef...

Cowrywise update my Equity as e dey hot for NGX "market "

Gtbank update before 5:pm

Cardinal update before 8:pm

Stanbic update @12:am

Anyone that can't show me my funds performance soonest is not for me

bassdow:

Thank God I experimented with just 10k in both Zedcrest and Paramount

In zedcrest....any where I click na different figures I dey see....me no come understand again o o

Once it complete their holding period....any amount wey dey remain for me...I go commot am sharperly and DELETE the app

Same goes to Paramount....

Meanwhile I will refund my Cardinal equity and forget the money there ... that app is so user friendly.....

I won't do follow follow and download any yeye app again........

Tueh

Salarys:
Welcome to the club grin
InvestmentRe: Equity Investment. by LoriHamo: 8:10am On Mar 03
Hmmmmm

No wahala

But my own updates SAME DAY

good morning o o

Youtodo:
I have said this previously, GT equity doesn't update same day. Yesterday's return will reflect today.

Happy Investing
InvestmentRe: Equity Investment. by LoriHamo: 10:39pm On Mar 02
Gtbank equity retuned RED...

Just wanted to clarify that

EquityM:
This week has started well, and we expect to see greens across all equity fund managers as a result of the momentum from MTN, Dangcem, and Aradel. Let us hope that no profit-taking occurs tomorrow. Finally, I do not recommend investing in the Zenith ESG unless you are comfortable with volatility.
InvestmentRe: Equity Investment. by LoriHamo: 6:45pm On Mar 02
I decided to throw in 100K....I won't top it at all again

I have lost internet abeg

Mtchewww

dammiecool:
They don't appear serious to me.
I've stopped further investment with them.
InvestmentRe: Equity Investment. by LoriHamo: 5:05pm On Mar 02
Boss.... good afternoon

The money I transferred to Quantum zenith on Thursday, which was acknowledged in an email and I was also told that the investment will take effect the next business day... being Friday the 27th.....up till now....it has not even reflected on my app...no to talk of "working" for me...

These guys ...take our money, trade with it and won't even let it reflect on one's portfolio....

I do not believe my money is "hanging" somewhere......this is the second business day they have "traded" with my money for their own gain.....

Hmmmmm

EquityM:
Most do 1%, 1.5%, and 2%.
InvestmentRe: Equity Investment. by LoriHamo: 11:29am On Feb 28
The NIDF from Chapel Hill?

EquityM:
Haha, if you want a good fixed income with a higher yield, try the DMO from the federal government; it starts with 50M, and once you are in, the rate stays there automatically for 10 years. Another alternative is NIDF; it pays around 24YTD per annum, but it's like a share—you have to buy it from the stockbrokers.
InvestmentRe: Equity Investment. by LoriHamo: 11:05am On Feb 28
Don't give all your money for equity to ONE fund manager...

Seems you like "banks"

Stanbic, Gtbank is there.... zenith does not do PURE equity....

Mixology:
Thanks for your advice bro. I just checked, Stanbic equity has been consistently doing well in the last 3 years, and actually did 65 percent last year, maybe I’ll put 10m there and leave 11m in mmf.
Hopefully it will do at least 35 percent for me this year
InvestmentRe: Equity Investment. by LoriHamo: 10:53am On Feb 28
Hahahaha

So no be only me RAN away....like you said earlier....they concentrate on their CSOF and leave others to awilo..

I bolted on Thursday night abeg...

I first ran away from their fixed income.......then wanted to bolt from their balanced fund and kuku took out my equity too...

EquityM:
You're on point, bro. It falls heavily like a dry leaf in the winter season. The red is more aggressive and unending in recovery, unlike equity, as you mentioned. Bless God, I ran away from its unending drama. It was 6.30+ YTD as of Friday.
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by LoriHamo: 10:45am On Feb 28
I actually believe some of them operate from their sitting rooms with few staff.....

Hahahahaha....

I still have bulk of my investments in Gtbank, Stanbic and now Zenith bank....at least when anything sup...I will invade their banking hall and "off" clothes till someone listens to me

Hahahahaha

Abeg o o o

I use cowrywise ,cardinal stone, zedcrest, paramount (chapel hill) and UCAP shaaa.....

😎😎😎😎😎😎
Iamblessed8888:
Very correct. These sportybet converts turned Genz investors have never witnessed market turbulence, so their risk antenna is set up differently. They believe SEC is their Lord and saviour but wasn’t SEC around during the BGL days and even cash craft like you said.

A firm’s internal self regulating mechanism is likely to protect you better than SEC can. The logic is simple really, the bigger the firm, the bigger the head count, and the more robust the internal control would be.

All these 20% fund managers being promoted here, some have only 5 to 10 staff. Who will do risk management, marketing, control, etc?

People like to say a bank has no bearing with it’s asset management division but that’s a big lie. If you know, you know. How come network issue with stanbic ibtc bank is now affecting stanbic asset management? 😁

I’d rather put my money with GTB Fund managers than a standalone small fund manager offering me 20% with a flat in a street in VI as it’s head office.

When the network issue persisted, my millions was actually hanging but i was at peace knowing its stanbic. I may have felt more unease if it were a smaller firm
InvestmentRe: Equity Investment. by LoriHamo: 11:54pm On Feb 27
I will start weekly henceforth....

Thanks everyone o o

I pray next week treats us all better

Ensol:
That’s why I do weekly
Feb 20th GT EQUITY ₦11,957,259.04
Feb 27th GT EQUITY ₦12,151,549.04
Even though I believe there were reds this week, I didn’t notice because I check weekly
InvestmentRe: Equity Investment. by LoriHamo: 8:35pm On Feb 27
Wow....

Hahahaha....

Na vex o

I only wanted to push the funds in their balanced fund to Zenith balanced fund

I will still re-fund their equity in future shaaa

Choiiiiii

princezzz:
@ LoriHamo....And funny enough, yesterday was the worst hit for CS this week, everywhere reddest, both balanced o,both equity,i mean the deepest shade of red, like thick red, blood moon red, deepest shade of lipstick red.
Today was all green everywhere, so you see "today seems not to be the worst".
Fear fear,you for wait small.
InvestmentRe: Equity Investment. by LoriHamo: 7:08pm On Feb 27
Thanks boss

Happy weekend and a better next week o o

Beeron:
You write with so much joyful humor even when the situation is dire.

One will always read your words and just crack a smile.

Unhappy Red days and I wish you happy Green days next week.
InvestmentRe: Equity Investment. by LoriHamo: 7:06pm On Feb 27
I was actually planning taking my funds off Cardinal stone already....there were REDs on my other portfolios...but I am determined to stick around....

Following your advice....I will start checking weekly....just to stay updated BUT not to "run"....

Thanks boss....

Bluearrow:
But I don't think daily monitoring of equity fund is a good approach. Equity is just like cryptto, it can mess with your mental health. Best is to check in weekly or monthly. If possible sef quarterly. I don't bother checking my equity, I only get update when I visit this thread or login whenever I want to top up. Often times people who sell in loss are those who login daily to see consistent red.
InvestmentRe: Equity Investment. by LoriHamo: 5:06pm On Feb 27
The REDs are tripping-in

Afrinvest
Gtbank(equity/bal)...equity was hit really BAD

I didn't trade today in CD as the last night withdrawal has shown PAID in their app... otherwise it would have been the worst hit..I for no see anything withdraw sef, if I didn't act last night...I wanted to de-fund their balanced fund...as I see the RED in their equity,I use vex click REDEEM as well. hahahaha...

arms crossed waiting for Stanbic @12:00am.... though I have no hope and only hoping the LOSS will not be too large...

Today seems to be the worst... even after noticeable re-bounce in some stocks in NGX.... trading later in the afternoon....

Maybe it would have been "WORSTer"

Abasi mî mbok....

Una Happy weekend o o

And please prepare your minds
InvestmentRe: Equity Investment. by LoriHamo: 11:46am On Feb 27
Nne ..he did balanced fund sef ...

I did that with Cardinal stone and realized it is better going head-on into equity...

All of them dey experience RED jareee.....but equity is still the "growth" engine

princezzz:
@Beeron, aggressive can be subjective ooo😁. If i have like 200m even 100m, 15m no go be aggressive for equity, it will be considered light investment. Same way you dey tell person wey get 1m as total investment to just test equity with 100k.
I just dey imagine if the market just stays green all through for like weeks on a stretch, you come dey see 7k even 5k sef for every 1m investment everyday, people will port to equity like mad, 1 red day and everybody will turn back to " eh shebi them talk am say equity dey chop person money"🫣🫣
