We where planing on using category A.

My wife’s annual salary is 30 k but because she was sick it’s dropped one of her pay checks to below 1550 but it says on the payslip that it was statutory sick pay. As a result we are worried that they will count the lower pay check as the one that the home Office will use to calculate the financial requirement is this correct. In the guidance notes for financial requirements I saw something about a period of sick leave not counting towards the income requirement because I don’t understand the implications of this.

If that’s the case, I think you have to provide 12 months pay slip and explain in your covering letter(s) what happened.
Others can help with an answer as well. Do a good research as well. Wish you the best.

I guess one can fire serious prayer to follow d application because different ppl look at d application ...because i cant imagine going to pay Naric again after having 2 masters degrees from d UK...for me i put in those and explained properly in my application form why i am exempted.

Including it in ones cover letter and laying emphasis on it will be the best bet.

My advise is not based on what i read from this thread alone. I belong to some other groups that involves UK spouse visa. There is really no harm in trying one's luck or gambling. At the end of it, it is either head or tail. I Just felt the cost of application is too much to gamble with considering the cost that would be needed to be safer in this instance (e.g cost of NARIC cert). She can as well go with the UK Certificate as you did. Most of us came up with our ideas and advises about what is right or wrong based on our experiences and other people's...

I totally agree with you, I joined other groups as well. I’ve seen at least 3 people that were refused based on that. All you can do in that situation is to blame the HO for putting JJCs in charge of something like that. After everything you still have to reapply or appeal. If you can afford it pls try n be on the safer side, good luck.

Nooo. The ielts test I submitted was general training test which wasn't acceptable. It wasn't general training for UKVI.
This time around I just submitted only my UK master's degree certificate. Is yours a degree from the Uk

Actually you do not need to submit your educational qualification/s. IELTS General Training result is all you need.

Where some people have falling foul is in assuming that because they have a bachelors, masters or even PHD from a Nigerian University then they should be exempt. Or as in the case of ibkbossun, she had the IELTS but did not attach (as i understand) and somehow did not even attach the certificate from her UK Masters degree... Kinda confusing to be honest...

Some have done some penny pinching by not spending on IELTS test but gone the NARIC route and some have just attached letters from their NJA university - the latter not clever at all. Another #70,000 out of more than 1 million naira spent is just what it is...

I’m still awaiting an approval and I’ll update as it goes, but my cousin said hers took two weeks and it’s her connect I’m using, I’m hopeful that even if it will exceed two weeks it shouldn’t be more than three weeks

You are referring to China post registered airmail and not China post small packet plus that is untrackable. Singapore post seems faster these days though, takes on average of 10-14days.

True for China post small packet...I ordered for something that the best option I had was the Singapore post it’s about a month now, I’m yet to receive it.

I’ve been using AliExpress for years. Personally when I see anything shipping from Singapore I’ll run n look for China post. For me, any order from China gets here with 10 days- 3 weeks. Singapore takes about a month or maybe a little over a month.

One thing I won’t advise anyone to buy from AliExpress will be phone parts. My brother got a Samsung screen from there and it didn’t work.

Generally that’s where I buy most things from.

I have just my bank account and GP in his name. But on the application form when you’re asked about any other name you bear, you can type in your new surname and the date you either got married or date you made a newspaper advert (send in this news paper advert with your name section highlighted with a marker if you pick this option).
