huh

So, you didn't feel that the movie was bloated? You are in the ignorant minority, then.

And also, when it comes to series, plots are developed over a season. People complain about length when a movie or series is bloated and the plot is not moving or adding anything new.
You have to get off that chicks trails man, in your rush to criticize her post you failed to grasp the subject that was being discussed. The movie in question wasn't IT chapter two, it was Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. How could you miss that huh

By the way I haven't even seen IT Chapter two, saw some clips and read some articles and was put off.

A very funny and inspiring picture indeed with a good story and good delivery from Eddie Murphy.

Nope. 2.5 hours was even too short, IMO. I found the movie that arresting. I didn't want it to end.
Same feeling here. When a movie is good, the length doesn't matter!!! People whine about length of movies but can nonchalantly binge entire seasons of movies angry

Once upon a time in Hollywood 8.5/10

Quentin Tarantino knows how to craft and tell a good story.

At first the picture was looking kinda convoluted, but after the first third it starts to feel nuanced and really captured my attention, and towards the ending it all falls into place.

Every scene had either a purpose or a specific story it tells and nothing felt irrelevant, so I don't get all the it could have taken 1 hour to blah blah blah undecided

There are plenty of things to like in this picture, from the portrayal of the characters to the cinematography and the designs, Brad Pitt did steal the show but I'm of the opinion that Leonardo DiCaprio was by far the best actor on the film! His character drew real emotions from me.

XxSabrinaxX:
The lie in your first post here was exposed in the first line of your little, creative, story time, narrative:
"Atheist: Nothing created something that created everything."

I have yet to meet an atheist that says that. And even if I did, that is their opinion and has nothing to do with the fact the person is or is not an atheist.

This atheist, (me) I leave it at: "I do not know."

I am also a skeptic, I do not believe anything that is unevidenced because: "faith."

So nothing worthwhile then from the blubber brain blabbermouth. What a killjoy, NOT! cheesy

LOL. OK junior. Keep it moving grin. Don't let sense and reason molest you on your way out

I've got plenty of time on my hand now so let's deal with the "atheists believe something out of nothing" canard once and for all, shall we?

Item one. Atheists dispense with belief altogether. Instead, if they're contemplating a postulate properly, they ask "what evidence exists in support of this postulate?", and look to whichever discipline is supplying the evidence.

Item two. The people who REALLY think the universe came from "nothing", are those supernaturalists who think their imaginary magic man from their favourite mythology, waved his magic todger and poofed the universe into existence from nothing. So even before I move on to the next items, this alone stuffs the "atheists think the universe came from nothing" excrement down the toilet and pulls the flush hard.

Item three. The question of the origin of the universe has nothing to do with atheism. This question is the remit of cosmological physics. And, once again, those of us who paid attention in class, turn to that discipline, and ask what postulates arise therefrom, and what evidence is supplied in support thereof.

Item four. No cosmological physicist presents the fatuous notion that the universe "came from nothing". Instead, cosmological physicists postulate that testable natural processes, involving well-defined interactions acting upon well-defined entities, were responsible for the origin of the observable universe in its current form.

Item five. The question of the origin of the universe is an active research topic, and as a corollary, a number of hypotheses are extant in the field, with respect to the origin of the observable universe. Indeed, it's a measure of how far cosmological physics has progressed, that researchers in the field are able to postulate a number of pre-Big-Bang cosmologies, and then work out how to test those cosmologies and the hypotheses underpinning them.

Item six. As an example of the ideas extant in the literature, I'm aware of two papers by Steinhardt & Turok, in which they propose a pre-Big-Bang cosmology centred upon braneworld collisions, and which possesses three elegant features. Namely:

1> It provides a mechanism for the donation of energy to the newly instantiated universe, facilitating subsequent matter synthesis;

2> It eliminates the singularity problem from standard Big Bang cosmology;

3> It provides a testable prediction, namely that the power spectrum of primordial gravitational waves will take a specific form, with the graph skewed towards short wavelengths.

Indeed, <3> above is one of the reasons scientists have been labouring diligently, to produce operational gravitational wave detectors, precisely so that they can test this prediction, once they've learned how to distinguish between primordial gravitational waves and gravitational waves of more recent origin. The moment they learn to do this, the requisite tests will be conducted. Furthermore, if those tests reveal a power spectrum that matches the Steinhardt-Turok prediction, then Steinhardt & Turok walk away with the Nobel Prize for Physics.

Message to all you supernaturalists out who may be viewing this thread: read the above, and learn from it. The next time you peddle the "atheists think the universe came from nothing" bullshit, you'll know from the above why we regard you with scorn and derision for posting this bullshit.

JOKER
6/10

I know. I know grin grin. The likes of TheKingIsHere would be flushed with my rating, but,... I just,... It's just... Weird undecided.

I mean, i LOVE the Joker character. The movie was great within the catalogue of other superhero/comics movies, but if this wasn't tied to comics in any way, it would be a bit more average. The acting, visuals, and the "feel" of the city were highlights but the movie only ever felt skin deep. It was trying too hard, reaching for something, but didn't get there IMO. The commentary lacked nuance and it couldn't resist holding the audience's hand at times. It's worth seeing but doesn't justify the hype about it being the first "Oscar-worthy" CBM. I left the cinemas feeling awkward..... Real awkward.

In its defence though, I erupted in laughter at many scenes throughout the movie. Some were unintentional (a la the dancing scenes grin grin grin).

I still prefer Endgame. Call it my Marvel bias but i'm just a sucker for big event films.

TL;DR
It was great. Still seems overhyped IMO.

my friend go and sit down. what made him feel betrayed it not that he read the document he stole from the hospital. Like you really think Joker is stupid? Like he doesn't know when he's being lied to and when he's been told the truth?

Clearly his mum was delusional and the document points to that very direction. (I'm not saying Wayne couldnt have falsified it but base on whats on ground)

If you who have watched it more than once don't remember the scene where he was bathing his mum and his mum told him if Thomas Wayne reads her letter and discover they're living in squalor he'd help them? Like Thomas Wayne help Penny Fleck out of poverty? LMAO.

The same woman who praised Wayne as the saviour Gotham City needs. Like why would you even praise and believe someone who caused you untold misery will help you out of poverty if you're not deluded.

Mr KoiceReloaded, I'm starting to believe you're just as crazy as Joker and please stop switching the narrative and choke on your L. Mr I'm always right.

You really raised an interesting point here, but the matter is still open to different interpretations. Good point all the same.
