There have been speculations that some celebrities have been to see OJB and made some donations. While it's true that the likes of Don Jazzy, P-Square, Ruggedman, Mercy Johnson, Iyanya, Julius Agwu have contributed, the other names on the list that circulated today are false. For instance, D'banj (unlike my earlier post yesterday),didn't give N7m, Wizkid didn't give N3m and 2face didn't give N1.5m. Head of fund raising committee for #SaveOJB, singer Nomoreloss, says the hype and misinformation is affecting efforts to raise the complete money OJB needs for his treatment. President Barack Obama has spent the afternoon touring a Senegalese island where Africans were shipped across the Atlantic into slavery and he called the visit a 'very powerful moment.' Obama says visiting Goree Island Thursday with his family helps them fully appreciate the magnitude of the slave trade. They toured the museum at the Maison des Esclaves where slaves were gathered before going through the 'Door of No Return' and being forced onto ships bound for North America. Obama also said that, as an African American and an African-American president, the trip gaves him even greater motivation to stand up for human rights around the world, and the visit came just hours after he clashed with his Senegalese hosts over gay rights. He said the island is a reminder of what happens when civil rights are not protected. How touching! I hope to visit this place with my family as well! Like they say all work and no play makes jack a dull boy. Amidst the stress and hectic work in modeling, time has to be created for a little fun. Applehouse modeling school saw the need for this little break and therefore held a superb ‘picnic at the beach’. It wasn’t just all about fun, it was an experience that taught the models a whole lot in an exciting manner. There was catwalk competition, dancing competition, lots of fun games and a beach photo-shoot. This took place at Elegushi beach and was graced with the presence of models like Seun Bolaji (super model), Ill Rhymes (presenter of Nigerian idol, model and rapper) whom are all products of Applehouse modeling school. Indeed it was fun for all the models. Applehouse modeling school is the place to be. The classes are every 2nd and 4th sundays of the month by 2pm at 9,Seidu Ajibowu street, opposite 1st Baptist church, off Toyin street, ikeja. The school is been powered by three top modeling agencies (Applehouse modeling agency, Ability models and 2eyes models) For inquiry: ability.concept@yahoo.co.uk 08023474447,08023500262,08056030824. Brad Pitt is unblamable for not keeping tabs on every fan, publicist, journalist, and fellow celebrity he's ever met. But in an interview with the June/July issue of Esquire, Pitt claims that he may have an actual medical condition that prevents him from recognizing faces. The "World War Z" actor, 49, suspects that he has prosopagnosia, or face blindness, which makes it difficult to match names to faces even after he's had a "real conversation" with someone. Poor him, that's not a good thing for him or anybody at all. SOURCE: http://louisdike..co.uk/2013/05/brad-pitt-suspects-he-suffers-from-face.html?m=1

Blackberry yesterday launched the BlackBerry Q5, its third smartphone launch this year, with all three running on the new BlackBerry 10 platform. In addition, President and CEO Thorsten Heins has just announced that BBM would become a multi-platform messaging service, which means that the patented service will now be available on more than just BlackBerry. The BBM messaging service will land on the iPhone, as well as Android smartphones this summer with the messaging and groups features. BBM Voice, screen sharing, video and channels will be rolled out later, he said. It is no secret that the BlackBerry team had been working on widening the scope of the BBM service, but this is a good surprise nevertheless. In a media statement, Andrew Bocking, Executive Vice-President, Software Product Management and Ecosystem, at BlackBerry said: “For BlackBerry, messaging and collaboration are inseparable from the mobile experience, and the time is definitely right for BBM to become a multi-platform mobile service. BBM has always been one of the most engaging services for BlackBerry customers, enabling them to easily connect while maintaining a valued level of personal privacy. We’re excited to offer iOS and Android users the possibility to join the BBM community.” Which in effect means that we will no longer have to have a BlackBerry smartphone to enjoy the BBM service. Our iPhones, as well as Galaxys and other smartphones running on Android will do the trick too. More stories @:www.louisdike..com

News has been speculating that Manchester United player, Wayne Rooney was leaving his club, because he deleted it from his bio on his official verified twitter account. However he released a statement in this regard. Read below: Statement from Wayne Rooney "There's a load of rubbish being written about me changing twitter bio saying I have deleted Manchester United from it. I have never deleted Manchester United from the bio whatever the papers are saying because it was never on there. All that happened was that I was asked by Nike to add @nikeuk to it – the same as many other sportspeople they sponsor. Funny, no-one's written about that though! That change was made THREE weeks ago and yet people are talking about it as if its something that was put up yesterday.." Statement from Nike :http:///1G08ZWNGZ

Few days after Lil Wayne refused to properly apologize to the family of civil rights icon, Emmett Till (Google who ET was) for using his name to describe rough sex in a rap lyric, Mountain Dew has dropped him as one of their spokesperson. The family of Emmett Till asked Lil Wayne for a public apology back in February after the remix for Future's Karate Chop leaked online containing the lyric, "I'mma beat the p***y up like Emmett Till" Lil Wayne ignored Till's family until earlier this week when they threatened to put pressure on Mountain Dew and Weezy's other sponsors to drop him. Lil Wayne wrote an open letter to the family but it obviously wasn't enough as Mountain Dew's parent company PepsiCo just released a statement saying; "We do not plan any additional work with Lil Wayne moving forward. His offensive reference to a revered civil rights icon does not reflect the values of our brand" and cut all ties with the rapper. Till family's letter and Lil Wayne's non-apology letter below. In and open letter sent to Vibe Magazine, the Estate of Emmett Till writes, "How would you feel is your child was beaten beyond recognition, body mutilated and disfigured, torchered for hours, unnecessarily shot after being BEATEN TO DEATH, lynched in barbed wire weighted down by a 70 pound cotton gin fan and tossed in a river with intent to never be found again? " Emmett Till was just a child! Emotional consumption of devastation, sadness grief and anger would impel you to your soul, similar to the response your lyrics evoked from our family. The impact of your words left us in awe with our hearts and our mouths wide open. Your lyrics reopened Emmett Till's casket and reminded the world but most importantly my family including surviors of the tragedy, of the gruesomness of hatred and served as a reminder of the loss owe suffered. Although its been over 57 years it feels like yesterday." Lil Wayne's letter to the Till family Click the link below to view: http:///2eGA8ueQhU |
From Mr President. Dear Compatriots, I greet and felicitate with you all as we celebrate Easter which commemorates the resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ after his redemptive self-sacrifice for the eternal salvation of mankind. Irrespective of our religion or faith, all holidays provide us with a fresh opportunity to establish stronger bonds with our family, friends and all those around us for more enduring, harmonious and beneficial relationship. As we celebrate this year’s Easter therefore, I urge all Nigerians to rededicate themselves to living in peace and oneness with all members of their communities no matter their ethnicity, religious beliefs or places of origin. By now, it ought to be an accepted fact amongst us that our immense potential for greatness in the comity of nations derives in the main from our collective strength as a country of close to 170 million people and the acclaimed richness of our diverse human resources and natural endowments. It follows, therefore, that to successfully achieve our vision of becoming one of the most dominant nations on the global stage in the shortest possible time, we must stay together as a people and continue to effectively resist by all possible means, the evil machinations of global terrorists and their misguided domestic accomplices who seek to provoke turmoil, hatred and harmful divisions among us. I assure all Nigerians that our security agencies, armed forces and I will continue to fully discharge our constitutional responsibilities for protecting the unity and territorial integrity of this country with all the powers and forces at our disposal. We must have peace, security and stability to effectively implement our agenda for national transformation in all parts of the country and we shall continue to work ceaselessly to re-establish the prerequisite conditions for nationwide progress and development. For your part, dear countrymen and women, I urge you to continue to exhibit restraint and understanding in the face of seeming provocations. Those who mindlessly and indiscriminately attack churches, schools, health workers, motor-parks, banks and ordinary road users must be seen as they truly are: the brainwashed pawns of international terrorism. They do not represent any true religion or section of the country and we must never play into their hands by succumbing to their nefarious ploys to incite religious, ethnic hatred and division among us. It is my hope and prayer that as we celebrate the glorious resurrection of our Saviour, Jesus Christ, his lessons of self-sacrifice, brotherly love, placing others before self, tolerance, obedience, respect for lawful authorities, dutifulness, diligence, honesty, justice and fairness to all will take firmer root in our beloved country and help us to overcome present challenges and build the more peaceful, secure, united, progressive and prosperous nation of our dreams. I wish you all happy Easter celebrations. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR President, Federal Republic of Nigeria www.louisdike..com
