Politics / Why Does Buhari Want Kalu And Dasuki Tried Secretly? - Fayose by loveablequeen(f): 6:03am On Feb 22, 2016

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has described attempt by the Federal Government to secretly to try the
leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB)
Nnamdi Kanu, by using mask-wearing prosecution
witnesses as mockery of democracy, saying Nigerians
must force President Mohammadu Buhari to purge
himself of the blood and water of dictatorship flowing
in his veins.

In a release issued on Saturday by his Special Assistant
on Public Communications and New Media, Lere
Olayinka, Governor Fayose said “it is shameful that the
Federal Government could approach the court for
witnesses in a criminal matter it is prosecuting to wear
mask and be seen through screen.”

He said even the prosecuting counsel, who filed the
application should be ashamed of themselves for
making themselves available to be used as tools to
subvert democracy.

“They want Kanu tried secretly. They also want the
former National Security Adviser (NSA), Col Sambo
Dasuki (rtd) tried secretly. What are they afraid of? .

How can the Federal Government ask the court to allow
‘ojuju calabar’ (masquerade) as prosecution witnesses
when we are not under military rule?

“How would such witnesses be cross-examined by
defence lawyers and can their real identity be
ascertained?

“Should anyone make allegations that he cannot be bold
enough to defend in the law court? Why are the
witnesses afraid to testify in an open court if truly they
are witnesses of truth?

“Clearly, this is mockery of democracy and the rule of
law and Nigerians should know that it is their duty to
purge President Buhari of dictatorship,” Governor
Fayose said.

While hailing the judiciary for once again rising in the
defence of democracy by saying no to the anti-
democratic plot of using masquerade as witnesses,
Governor Fayose said; “As it is now, only the judiciary
can save Nigeria from the full-blown dictatorship that
this Buhari-led APC government has become.

“Interestingly, they are not even sparing the bench from
their regime of blackmail and dictatorship, and it has
become necessary for our men of the bench to continue
to stand firm against enemies of democracy and rule of
law.”

Politics / Read What Buhari Said About The Death Of 95-year-old Woman Who Gave N1million by loveablequeen(f): 9:20am On Feb 15, 2016
The Presidency has reacted to the death of Hajiya Fati
Koko, popularly called Maitalla Tara, the 95 year old
woman who donated her N1 million savings to the
Buhari presidential campaign organization last year.

See statement by Presidency below:

President Muhammadu Buhari has extolled the virtues of Hajiya Fati Koko, popularly called Maitalla Tara,
who has passed away, aged 95. Mourning Hajiya Koko,
who had waited nine hours in Kebbi early last year, to
donate the sum of N1 million (One million Naira) to
him as the then presidential candidate of the All
Progressives Congress (APC), President Buhari
described her as "a woman with a good heart, who
stood by her convictions, and gave sacrificially."

Hajiya Koko had offered virtually her life's savings to
candidate Buhari then, saying she admired his honesty,
discipline, and stand for truth. Receiving the news of
her passage, President Buhari commended Hayiya
Koko's conviction and sacrificial giving, urging
Nigerians to learn vital lessons from her life.

"She gave practically all she had towards our campaign.

Though well advanced in age, she still believed a new
Nigeria was possible, and followed her conviction with
action. What generosity of spirit and what tenacious
faith in her motherland. Nigerians, old and young, have
a lot to learn from her," the President said.

President
Buhari condoled with the family and relations of the
departed, urging them to take solace in the fact that
their matriarch lived to a ripe old age, "and she saw the
beginning of the change she had long yearned for.

The onus is now on all of us to ensure that the change
gets entrenched and solidified for even generations yet
unborn to benefit from." The President also
sympathized with the governor and people of Kebbi
State, whom he said will all miss the sterling qualities
of Hajiya Koko, but added that the life of the departed
will serve as a standard to emulate "in the service of
God, humanity and country." "May Allah grant her soul
repose in Al-jannah," the President prayed.

Politics / Nigerians Deserve To Know The Truth About Buhari’s Sudden Vacation - Fayose by loveablequeen(f): 3:35am On Feb 08, 2016
Read the press statement below..

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has
said that the statement issued by the
Presidency on President Mohammadu
Buhari’s sudden vacation was vague, saying;

“Nigerians deserve to know the truth about
their President because the President is an
open book that every Nigerians should be
free to read.”

The governor, who said he was aware of the high- wire plot to use the Supreme Court to upturn his
electoral victory, insisted that nothing will stop
him from speaking the truth concerning issues in
the country.

He said it was suspicious that a president, who
told Nigerians that he was embarking on official
visit to France and Britain, last Tuesday, would
suddenly commence a five-day vacation while still
in the United Kingdom.

According to a statement issued by his Special
Assistant on Public Communications and New
Media, Lere Olayinka, the governor, who prayed
for safe return of the President, said “Nigerians
deserve to know where exactly their president is
spending his vacation.”

He however commended the President for
handing over to the Vice President as stipulated
by the Constitution of the country.

He said; “We were told last Tuesday, that Mr
President was travelling to France and from there
to London to attend the Syria Donor Conference,
and that he would return to Nigeria this weekend.

“All of a sudden, we were told that the President
was embarking on a five-day vacation. Where and
why? We were not told.

“Curiously, it was at this same period, last year
that President Buhari, who was at that time the All
Progressives Congress (APC) presidential
candidate, disappeared from public, with lies told
about him granting interviews in London.

“It is therefore important that in future, the
presidency should be more explicit in
communicating with Nigerians on issues regarding
the President because a nation’s president is an
open book that can be read by anyone.”
