You cannot compare. However, the builders and users of gaming laptops or laptops generally discovered that indeed there was/is a need for it.

A laptop is a mobile device, you can take it everywhere you go. I cannot carry my desktop to run some simulations at a client's site.

Laptops are not really efficient as the desktops, most times their cpu or gpu end up frying after extensive usage, particularly when not properly cooled.

All have their respective demand/usage/relativity.

I bet laptop will fried before a PC that was well built.. most of these gaming laptop always have one problem or the other in a very time of usage.. starting from overheating

It's like saying portable console like Nintendo switch is pointless as it can never perform like a real console like PlayStation or xbox, yet it has sold over 53 million units, more than the Xbox one.

Campus? Lol why gaming on campus Nowadays people have that powerful PC at home and use a average powerful laptop to run day to day activities.. the benefits dont justify the over hype prices
