Following the walkout by the Organised Labour comprising of the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress during the last meeting with the Tripartite Committee on Minimum Wage after the proposed N48,000 as minimum wage by the Federal Government, our correspondent learned that the government has now upped it to N54,000. A highly reliable source within the meeting, which is currently ongoing, disclosed this to our correspondent in Abuja. “The Federal Government has now proposed the sum of N54,000,” the reliable source said. Though it is not clear whether Labour would accept this offer, The PUNCH reports that the FG’s proposal is a far cry from the N615,000 proposed by the organized Labour. https://punchng.com/exclusive-fg-proposes-n54000-as-new-minimum-wage/ |

EXCLUSIVE: Buhari Calls For Keyamo’s Removal As APC Presidential Campaign Spokesperson Over ‘Constant Demarketing Of Administration’ For instance, on Sunday, during an interview on Channels Television, Keyamo said Nigerians are hungry and can’t wait to have a new leader who would satisfy their hunger. President Muhammadu Buhari and members of the Aso Rock cabal have called for the removal of Festus Keyamo as the spokesperson for the All Progressives Congress (APC)/Bola Ahmed Tinubu Presidential Campaign Council. According to a presidential source, Buhari and members of the cabal accused Keyamo of always de-marketing the current administration despite being a serving minister. Buhari has asked for the removal of Festus Keyamo as the party’s campaign spokesperson. The President accused him of always de-marketing his regime, describing the government in which he is a minister as a failed regime. He has been described as a loose cannon who is daily demarketing his regime as a failed regime. The cabal members are not happy,” the source said. For instance, on Sunday, during an interview on Channels Television, Keyamo said Nigerians are hungry and can’t wait to have a new leader who would satisfy their hunger. When asked to discuss the APC’s campaign issues for the 2023 elections, Keyamo said, “Nigerians are hungry, they want to see how that hunger will be addressed, not how their Christian faith or Muslim faith will be addressed. They want to see our policies on agriculture and what Asiwaju has done before as governor of Lagos state, how he improved Lagos and how he will bring that kind of dexterity to Nigeria as a whole. “That is what they want to see. How do we want to run the country? What do we want to tell Nigerians?” Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha was also said to have insisted on his removal following the latest interview on Channels Television. “The SSG had to insist on Keyamo’s removal after his reckless outburst on Channels TV yesterday (Sunday). They have already informed the party leadership about this,” the presidential source added. The way the stuff is going the APC slot is between Ameachi, Osibanjo and Fayemi, these are the strong contenders, but they aren't going to declare intention until the electoral act palava is resolved. But how can you restrict political appointees from voting and be voted for and Sai Baba with his cabal signed this into law and expect the legislature to remove that after you have signed off... Haba... But the way the stuff is going if BAT emerges APC candidate for 2023 just know that the north has succeeded in bringing Atiku for the president. |

Breaking: Obaseki escapes APC trap, wins certificate forgery case Obaseki: wins case By Wando Sombo The Federal High Court Abuja has dismissed the alleged certificate forgery suit filed by the APC against Gov. Godwin Obaseki of Edo. Justice Ahmed Mohammed while delivering judgment in the alleged certificate forgery suit filed by the APC against the governor said that the APC failed to prove the forgery allegation beyond reasonable doubt. The judgment was set for 12noon, but the judge began reading the verdict at about 1.20pm, by first reviewing the testimonies for the two parties. The All Progressives Congress and a member had dragged Obaseki to court, accusing him of tendering a fake UI certificate to be eligible for the September governorship election. Lawyers to all the parties adopted their final addresses on 7 January, making Justice Ahmed Mohammed slate verdict for today. The parties are the APC, Mr William Edobor, Obaseki, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). When the matter was called on Thursday, Obaseki’s counsel, Mr Ken Mozia (SAN) told the court that the business for the day was for parties to adopt their final written addresses. Mozia said that he had received the plaintiffs’ 39-page final written address. He said that on his part, he had filed his final address as well as a reply on points of law to the plaintiffs’ final written address. “We adopt both written addresses, and premised on the arguments set out therein, we urge the court to make a firm determination that the plaintiffs woefully failed to prove their case,” he said. For his part, Mr M.A Bawa, counsel to INEC prayed the court to use the arguments filed by counsel to give judgment in the matter. “For our part, we didn’t file any process in this suit and we have consistently remained neutral. “In the circumstance, we will be urging the court to decide the matter one way or another based on the arguments before it,” he said. Counsel to the APC, Mr Akin Olujimi (SAN) also adopted his written address as his final argument in the matter and urged the court to grant the claims sought by his client. The APC and one of its chieftains, Mr Williams Edobor, dragged Obaseki to court for allegedly forging the University of Ibadan degree certificate, which he submitted to INEC to aid his qualification for the Sept. 19, 2020 governorship election in Edo. The plaintiffs want the court to disqualify Obaseki and his party, the PDP, from the poll, in the event that Obaseki was found to have forged his university certificate, obtained in 1979.
