Atiku Will Defeat Buhari In 25 States — Prophet Olagunju Reveals Again
February 10, 2019 Starnews NG 0 Comments Atiku, Buhari, prophet wale Olagunju
Ahead of the Saturday general elections in Nigeria, the Presiding Bishop, Divine Seed of God Chapel Ministries, Ibadan, Prophet Wale Olagunju, who is renowned among Nigerian Pastors for his accurate prophecies, has said that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) will not only win the Saturday presidential election, but that he will defeat president Muhammadu Buhari in 25 states.

Starnews reports that Prophet Olagunju hinted Nigerians on his official verified Facebook page on Sunday.

He said that God had told him since 2017 that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar would win the election of Saturday this week.

“The Most High God has revealed to me that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar would win the election. He is to win 15 states out of the 17 states in the south while Buhari would partly win in Ekiti and Oyo state, Atiku would win no fewer than 10 states in the North.

“The emergence of Atiku is an urgent national assignment ordained by God. I want to state it categorically clear that several Northern Emirs are voting for Atiku, and this will also increase his support base.

“But my sincere advice to the Electoral Commission (INEC), to conduct a free and fair election to avoid crisis in Nigeria.

“Even Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and other leaders know that Buhari would lose the election come February 16, 2019,” the Cleric added.

Recall that Prophet Olagunju had accurately prophesied the emergence of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as the PDP presidential candidate even before the party regained his strength.

He, as well prophesied the reconciliation of Atiku with former President Olusegun Obasanjo even when Obasanjo said he will never forgive Atiku.

Starnews learnt that the cleric had also revealed in 2017 that groups and individuals would be rooting for Atiku to win the election -a prophecy that came to pass recently based on the avalanche of adoption of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar by different groups and individuals across the country.

Workers, JAMB bicker over welfare, working conditions, others

ON JANUARY 3, 201911:03 AMIN LABOUR1 COMMENT

By Victor Ahiuma-Young & Joseph Erunke

All that glitters is not gold, according to the old aphorism. That appears to be what aggrieved workers of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, are telling the public.

FILE: CANDIDATES WRITING UTME IN ABUJA
According to the workers, despite the examination body remitting billions of Naira to the Federation Account in the last two years, their working and living conditions in the last three years are only comparable to modern day slavery.

But JAMB’s management has dismissed the workers’ allegations, describing them as unfounded and mere fabrications.

While the petitioners presented documents and correspondences between the management and unions from 2016 to 2018, to substantiate their claims, the management on the other hand, provided documents to back up its position.

However, in an open petition to President Muhammadu Buhari, on the aegis of “Concerned JAMB Workers”, the aggrieved staff accused the management of among others, instituting a repressive working environment and anti-workers’ policies that have worsened the living conditions of workers and made working in JAMB a living bondage.

They called on the National Assembly to set up an independent panel to investigate alleged management insensitivity to workers welfare, impunity, hypocrisy, corruption among others.

The workers also claimed that over 500 staff nationwide were excluded from the Christmas/end of year largesse dolled out to staff ahead of the Christmas celebration.

Giving details of their grievances, they claimed that workers’ “promotion examinations and processes are now conducted under questionable circumstances and mired by controversies. For three years running; 2017, 2018, and 2019 respectively, our promotion exercises were conducted without the release of the official results or processed under any requisite transparent parameters. Nobody till date knows who passed or failed the examinations in question since promotion letters were secretly distributed. Even people who did not participate in the processes were also favoured and promoted. The exercises were manipulated and used as an instrument of torture, blackmail, victimization and humiliation of staff.

“In order to conveniently actualize this corrupt agenda, the management every year, curiously conducts such promotion examinations six months before the promotion year in question against civil service practices so that it will have time to manipulate the system.

No clear applicable criteria are known to have been used in the qualification processes since grades by Annual Performance Evaluation Reports, APER, forms were never used. Questions on public service were also not used as stipulated by the Civil Service Rules. Even the Corporate Support Service, CSS, Department and Human Resources, HR, Unit which ought to conduct and process such exercises were kept in the dark. Is it not an aberration that JAMB, globally seen as an examination body, will now be conducting its own internal promotion examinations without releasing or publishing the results officially?

“Workers now live in fear of being victimized, maliciously transferred or sacked. We have faced all kinds of humiliations, harassments, scorn and intimidation. Movements are now restricted within JAMB Headquarters like slave camps and prison yards. Workers have been given queries or maliciously transferred out of the Headquarters because they went to the toilet or the canteen since we are expected to be glued to our seats from 8 a.m until 4 p.m. Staff cannot go on break unless they get signed clearances from their respective Directors.

PoliticsBREAKING: INEC Bans APC From Fielding Candidates In Zamfara - Daily Trust by lovesamzy(op): 11:12am On Oct 10, 2018
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has banned the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC from fielding candidates for elective positions in Zamfara state for the 2019 elections.

According to the electoral body, the decision was taken as a result of the failure of the party to elect its candidates within the stipulated period in accordance with the electoral act.

Recall that the sacked leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State returned Alhaji Mukhtar Shehu Idris as winner of last Wednesday’s botched governorship primary election in the state.

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the party had announced the dissolution of Zamfara APC exco led by Alhaji Lawali M. Liman.

But the embattled Liman, who insisted he remained the chairman of the party, had also declared Governor Abdulaziz Yari as winner of Zamfara West senatorial zone’s primary election in the state, who he said had scored 166,610 votes.

Alhaji Liman said the state government-backed Shehu Idris polled 310,380 votes to clinch the governorship ticket of the party; while Senator Kabiru Marafa, a member of the G8 fighting Governor Yari, came second with only 54,607 votes.

He said the other governorship contenders scored votes as follows: Alhaji Mahmuda Aliyu Shinkafi 5,514; Deputy Governor Ibrahim Wakkala Muhammad 517; Alhaji Sagir Hamidu Gusau 102; Alhaji Aminu Sani Jaji 12,039; Alhaji Abu Magaji 340; Alhaji Dauda Lawal Dare 5,396; and Brigadier General Mansur Dan Ali (rtd) 292 votes.

However, the Major General Abubakar Mustapha Gana-led Zamfara State Electoral Committee, said the results announced by Alhaji Liman could not stand, adding that they would submit their report to the national headquarters that there was no primaries in Zamfara.

Political parties had up till 12am on Sunday to complete their primary elections for various offices; and findings at the APC headquarters in Abuja indicated that Zamfara was unable to beat the dateline.

In a WhatsApp message, Marafa said Governor Yari should be expelled from the party for committing what he called “treason against APC.”

PoliticsHow Atiku Got PDP Ticket After 'firm Confirmation'- Daily Trust by lovesamzy(op): 4:02pm On Oct 09, 2018
More revelations have emerged on how Atiku Abubakar beat others to the presidential ticket of the PDP.

Atiku defeated 11 aspirants to emerge the party’s flag-bearer at the national convention of the party held at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, at the weekend.

A chieftain of the party said Gov. Aminu Tambuwal would have won the election if not for the 11th hour support of former generals, including Olusegun Obasanjo, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida and Theophilus Danjuma.

He added that it was difficult to get the buy-in of Obasanjo, who had sworn not to support Atiku.

“For Baba Iyabo, he was ready to support anybody, but Atiku. So it was difficult to get his support even with persuasion from his colleagues such as IBB and Danjuma,” he said.

He said Obasanjo finally succumbed following intervention of prominent international figures, including a former president of one of the powerful countries.

Another source said it took the intervention of a former President, Goodluck Jonathan, to persuade the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesome Wike, to accept the last minute decision of the power brokers.

“Wike was adamant. He felt it was unfair to abandon the initial agreement with Tambuwal, who was compelled to run for the office by the power brokers. It took Jonathan’s intervention and a phone call from Obasanjo,” he said.

Daily Trust reports that Jonathan and Wike left the venue of the convention on Saturday night and Wike returned in the morning of Sunday to cast his vote wearing a long face.

It was further gathered that Atiku had to make a lot of commitments to those who supported him in Nigeria to clinch the ticket.

“The biggest one was their safety; their freedom to live without fear when he finally wins,” a source said. “Many of them are not really after money or any power, but the serenity to live a normal life. Remember, President Buhari did not make any attempt to arrest many of them but they perpetually live with the fear of the unknown, strongly having the feeling that he would not spare them on his second return,” he said.

However, the campaign spokesperson of the Atiku Presidential Campaign Organisation, Segun Sowunmi, claimed there was no alliance with power brokers.

“What alliance with power brokers? Which power brokers? There were 12 aspirants there and all of them went to the ballot. Everyman went to the ballot believing they had the chance of winning. It was only when the votes were counted that every man saw the number of votes he got. That is the beauty of a transparent democratic process. When you are going into an election, you put in your best, but there is always a 13th hour when you must wait for the verdict of history,” he said.

What next for Tambuwal?

However, it was gathered that Tambuwal was promised the vice president slot in 2023 as Atiku is expected to do a single term. Meanwhile, Tambuwal is expected to seek re-election as Governor of Sokoto State.

A former Minister of Finance and Coordinator of the Economy, Prof. Okonjo Iweala, is in the lead to emerge as the vice presidential candidate of the PDP this time around.

While Atiku’s preferred choice is a former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, the power brokers are rooting for Iweala, it was gathered.

According to a source, the choice of Prof. Iweala will not only mobilise the people of the South East, but also get majority of female voters to support Atiku. She is also seen as possessing the international connection and goodwill to brighten the chances of PDP.

“The power brokers and the party want the vice president to come from the South West so that they can balance the equation with APC, which has settled for Osinbajo, but Atiku believes he can win the South West. He believes he has a good relationship with major stakeholders in the South West to win majority of the votes,” our source added.

The source added that Atiku had no problem with picking anybody from the South East, including a former Minister of Education and presidential aspirant, Oby Ezekwesili.

“I can’t be definite about the choice for now as negotiation is still ongoing. However, what has been agreed is that the candidate will not be an everyday politician. He or she must be a technocrat,” he said.
