Here are key details about iWhot's Corner Betting:

OPTING IN/OUT: At the beginning of each game, players are given the choice to participate in corner betting or not. If all other players opt-out of corner betting, the game starts immediately without this feature. If up to 2 players opt-in for corner betting, they will proceed to the corner betting screen to place their bets.

PLACING BETS: To place a corner bet, a player selects the opponent they want to bet against from the top of their screen. Players can send, receive, and modify incoming offers from other players. Bets can be placed on multiple players and cards. Bets are placed on any or all of a player's initial 4 cards during shuffling/dealing. Only accepted bets are considered valid. Pending or rejected bets are refunded to the sender.

WINNING BETS: Upon game start, players who placed corner bets can view the results of each bet. Each betting player can see their own cards and those of their betting opponents for transparency. The player with the lower card number wins the specific bet. Bets are refunded in the event of a tie.

There's no difference between the 2 jobs unless you want to move close to the island.

Just look at the prospect of the 2 jobs.Dont look at the pay.The 100k difference after transportation cost will still be next to nothing.
Just know that working on the island considering your location will involve more transportation risk,spending more on feeding and other expenses...

I was laughing because you're concerned about how they'll feel. Taking a better paying job should not be a source of guilt for you. Think about how many years it will take before your current salary will be increased to that 240k net you've been offered now.

Take the better paying job and resign properly from your current place. It's that simple.

If you miss this opportunity, you'll hate yourself for it, and gradually that will begin to affect your job performance and motivation, and you might still end up getting sacked.

Hello everyone.

Please, I need your advice as I am confused at the moment.

I am to choose between the job of 130k on the mainland or job of 330k on the island. Pls note that I started the 130k few months ago and I spend 600naira daily on transport (about 13k on transport for a month). It is on the mainland and not far from my area. No traffic or whatsoever. My colleagues are amazing people, and the workplace is super convenient. I didn't apply for the job, but the CEO gave it to me when I messaged him that I needed job, so he decided to help me by giving me the job. He is a good man who cares about people. I can say that he motivates me a lot.

I am to start the 330k soon, but it is on the island, and I am to spend about 4k on transportation (about 90k). I will still have the balance of 240k left on me after removing transportation.
I am confused because I don't know how to discuss it with the CEO who assisted me. I am thinking that he will feel bad, and our relationship will be affected. Sincerely, he is a good man, and he motivates me a lot, but the pay is small compared to the new offer I got.
Both jobs are secured and safe.

I would like to address the allegations on Twitter about tribalism on Nairaland or that I am some kind of tribalist, because I was told that not addressing them means that they are true.

I urge you to disregard any accusation against me or against Nairaland if the accusers cannot prevent hard evidence to support their claims. These people make things up, and people just believe them.

For avoidance of doubt, I have always been a supporter and admirer of south-eastern people. I will never have any tribalistic bone in my body. I am a human who views people as humans first.

The micro-kernel of truth in the mountain of lies is that Nairaland is under-staffed. The staff I have do not moderate as efficiently as I want them to. They also struggle with following my instructions.

So if you go to Nairaland looking for tribalism, you will find it in certain areas, just as you will if you search Twitter for tribalism, because of people whose main business online is tribal trolling.

However, I want Nairaland to be better than Twitter. I want to improve the consistency of moderation on Nairaland. For this reason, I am in the process of recruiting more people to help.
