Diplomacy which Zelensky lacks is the issue here, Trump said this war should have not happened, there could have been some sort of strong negotiation and guarantees to keep Russians from entering into Ukraine territory like they did now.
As it is now, Zelensky has just a personal hatred on Putin that's all, and he don't mind risking Ww3 just to try to defeat Putin which is impossible.
He doesn't have a chance now, the thing is end the war, renegotiate and come to a compromise, you can't never defeat Russia in the battlefield which is a truism.

5. Zelenskyy is willing to negotiate the mineral deals but they wouldn't let him decide how his country will benefit from the deal
