Two women who made false claims that Brigitte Macron was born a man were cleared of defamation charges on Thursday. Ms Rey and Ms Roy were found guilty of defamation in September and ordered to pay 8,000 euros (£6,900) in damages to Mrs Macron and 5,000 euros (£4,300) to her brother. However, on Thursday the Paris court of appeal overturned the conviction as they said the 18 pieces of video called into question by Mrs Macron’s lawyers did not constitute defamation but fell in line with good faith and free speech. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2025/07/10/women-who-claimed-brigitte-macron-man-cleared-defamation/ |

obembet:God does not interfere with the CHoice of Man. Man has total dominion on Earth and can decide whatever he wants. That is why we are encouraged to teach people the True Word of God to help them Change from the Inside because without that, there will be no control as to what Man can do to another man. The Holy Spirit is the control for Man on Earth, without it, everywhere will be in Chaos. |

Beylin’s meme, which she named “Love in The Time of Web3,” depicts a cartoon couple admiring the prices of bitcoin and ether, which are $69,000 and $4,200, respectively, in the meme. “Love in The Time of Web3” got a lot of attention following Musk’s tweet. That night, Beylin listed it as an NFT, or nonfungible token, on marketplace Zora, and two days later, it sold for five wrapped ether, which is about $19,800 at current pricing, to an anonymous buyer. “It is surreal,” Beylin says. Though it was Beylin’s idea to create the meme, she did not design the image of the cartoon couple or edit the prices of bitcoin and ether. Beylin was inspired to create the meme after seeing a post by another Twitter user who edited the cryptocurrency prices and tweeted it as a joke. To compensate the user, who is known as @shegenerates, Beylin gave her 20% of the proceeds from the NFT sale. Shegenerates was fine with Beylin using her edit, she tells CNBC Make It. “Personally, I have [Musk] blocked on Twitter, so I only saw it after Eva [Beylin] posted about him sharing it. I wish I got all those likes myself because I can only imagine how much serotonin my brain would make with all that attention, but memes are permissionless, so it’s just cool to see things I shared around,” Shegenerates says. Beylin doesn’t know the creator of the image depicting the cartoon couple. And because of the legal gray area that NFTs exist in, it’s not clear whether the use of this image infringes on any potential copyright laws. With her cut of the sale, Beylin plans to reinvest in other artists by buying their NFTs. “As a hobby artist, I’d never be able to reinvest in art or have my art paid for [without NFTs]. So, my thing has always been reinvesting back into NFTs,” she says. The buyer of “Love in The Time of Web3” has already relisted the meme for 69.42 wrapped ether, or about $275,000. Though it’s less than the buyer’s asking price, a bidder already offered 6.94 wrapped ether, or about $27,500, for the meme. If it resells, Beylin will earn a 15% royalty, she says. The subscription site onlyfans, known for its adult content, has announced it will block sexually explicit photos and videos from 1 October. People will still be able to post nude content on the site. But this will need to be consistent with onlyfans' policies. The announcement comes after BBC News had approached the company for a response to leaked documents concerning accounts which posted illegal content. onlyfans said the change had come after pressure from banking partners. The site has grown during the pandemic and says it has 130 million users. "In order to ensure the long-term sustainability of our platform, and continue to host an inclusive community of creators and fans, we must evolve our content guidelines," onlyfans said in a statement. The London-based social media site enables its creators to post nude videos and photos and charge subscribers for tips or a monthly fee. Creators can post a range of content from cooking to fitness videos, but it is best known for pornography. In return for hosting the material, onlyfans takes a 20% share of all payments. Thursday's announcement comes after BBC News approached the company for its response to leaked documents and concerns about its handling of accounts posting illegal content. The documents - described as "compliance manuals" - show that although illegal content itself is removed, onlyfans lets moderators give creators multiple warnings before closing accounts. Moderation specialists and child protection experts say this shows onlyfans has some "tolerance" for accounts posting illegal content. In response to the BBC's investigation, onlyfans said the documents are not manuals or "official guidance", it does not tolerate violations of its terms of service, and its systems and age verification go far beyond "all relevant global safety standards and regulations". The site, founded in 2016 by Essex businessman Tim Stokely, has come under fire in the past after a BBC News investigation found under-18s had used fake identification to set up accounts on the site. In June, BBC News found that under-18s sold explicit videos on the site, despite it being illegal for people to share indecent images of children. After the BBC investigation, the children's commissioner for England said onlyfans needed to do more to stop underage users. In response to the investigation, onlyfans said it had closed the accounts flagged and refunded all active subscriptions. In July, the company's first monthly transparency report said that it deactivated 15 onlyfans accounts after finding indecent images of children on those accounts. https://www.bbc.com/news/business-58273914

TVIO Solutions, a fintech company, has filed a N100 million lawsuit against Sterling Bank over alleged intellectual theft. In a statement, the company said it filed a case against Sterling Bank at the federal high court in Lagos for allegedly implementing an idea without recourse to the progenitor (TVIO Solutions). TVIO Solutions said it developed a pay by instalment platform where customers can purchase goods and pay later in four instalments at different online and in-store accredited agents at 0% interest. It said the idea was discussed with Sterling Bank in September 2019 and the bank, having bought into the idea, requested and sought for a proposal to acquire more information about the project. TVIO Solutions said it sent in a proposal as requested, soliciting for equity or debt from the bank as potential partners in the project. After receiving the proposal, Sterling Bank was said to have declined to respond to emails, calls and SMS from TVIO Solutions seeking updates on the deal. In December 2020, Sterling Bank was alleged to have launched a carbon copy of the same initiative and idea proposed to them earlier by TVIO Solutions. Sources associated with TVIO Solutions said they have evidence of every conversation and meetings held with Sterling Bank in regards to ‘Paywithspecta’ (code name for the project). In an email response to TheCable’s enquiry, Sterling Bank said: “We are aware of the suit and it is currently pending adjudication at the Lagos High Court.” “As a law-abiding institution, we believe the responsible course of action is to withhold from further commentary on a matter that is sub-judice and await the Court’s decision.” https://www.thecable.ng/tvio-solutions-files-n100m-suit-against-sterling-bank |
