Politics / Social Media, Nigerian Youth And Politicians by Lucaking(m): 2:25pm On Aug 08, 2016
A warm reception he expected, an aggressive entry he got. "Join twitter they said, they never told me the level of disrespect and bashing is this much here. Everyone seems angry" Jimoh Ibrahim OFR (Ondo state gubernatorial candidate). A tool every office seeking politician must reckon with, the greatest weapon conferred upon youths across the world. "Children of anger" he called us yet we flourish and excel on the social media platform.

This is not a call for us to lose our sanity neither do we toss away our high moral standards. Remember a stone throw at the market place might hit a family member, we are not vulgar! We are cultured and we are African. Social media is a strategic and important electioneering tool, the youths are vital ingredient in any electoral process, we occupy and dominate the social platform, Nigerian youth and Social media are inseparable.

Rather than letting them create a division between us, the style and game is always creating a split: religion, tribe and region. Edo is here, Ondo is next, It is time to dig deep into their personality, it is time to look into their love for service and not unachievable propagandas, even though we have ended up with the inconclusive national electoral commission, to a large extent we own the votes. It is time to look beyond the recharge cards, customized exercise books, shirts and wristbands.

Have you visited the clinic?

Why, and what is happening at the clinic?

You're always indoor lately, at every opportunity I get to spend with you inside, I notice you're always deep in thought and you rarely make those funny jokes and your face is gloomy right now, are you alright?

Yes I am, but... Ermmm you see in a man's life he has got to think of the future and also relate his present situation with the past.

Why all this philosophy? Who collect biscuit for your hand, abi someone died?

Education / Civic Education by Lucaking(m): 1:25am On Jul 20, 2016
Civic Education

I had no real business in school today other than go to school 'charge', hook up with friends and read, every unilorite will agree with me that joy and smiles would appear on their faces when we get to ride in a free, air conditioned car to school. At first i said 'ekaro sir' bending my head even though I knew the windows were rolled up and there was no way the owner would have heard me greet, so he drove pass me and i played my 'adura by wande coal' and kept walking, few steps away this same car parked and said:

You're a student right?

I said yes sir, so he said come inside I am going to school as well, i muttered thank God and sat inside the car hoping to listen to my song without having any other conversation aside the thank you i said upon entering the car. Oops! I was wrong, "what course are you studying"? I was shocked so I couldn't talk at first and I had to think before saying "political science sir" and that was how we began our long, educating, talk. I will try as mush as possible to be brief and it a pity I can't remember all what he said to me

Why have you students failed to uphold the activism spirit of the Nigerian students? You see during my days in school, the likes of professor wole soyinka, myself and others stood against the likes of Yakubu Gowon, Abacha and the government. Why is the students leadership a failure today? People are suffering, our senate is a home to thieves, they collect crazy allowances, even a man that does not read the newspaper will collect newspaper allowance and yet the government cannot pay a minimum wage of #18,000!

This time Engr. Famileke was hitting his steering and I summoned courage and said:
Sir, are you aware the laws and the institutions have incapacitated the Nigerian students? What your likes enjoyed is no longer in the system today, various student leadership positions have been bought over by the government and there is nothing an ordinary student like me can do about it.

Engr looked at me and said "do you know that in my time whenever we need to call our selves together, we would roll paper on the trays in the cafeteria and when students sees the note there is an awareness, I said again sir, you enjoyed the best part of Nigeria educational system, and he told me that in his days in the federal polytechnic there was a general study of "CIVIC EDUCATION" just as we now have general studies (GNS) and that civic education is a subject that serves as a tool in educating the nigerian youth/student about their civic responsibility and right, the do's and don't's of government, their society and their input. Civic education in my days woke the nigerian students in all institution and we understood what the government was made of, our lecturers taught civic education and it reshaped the students then, why will the nigeria legislators be the highest paid and they offer us nothing, and yet there has never been a peaceful march from the Nigerian students saying enough is enough with these allowances? Why? Where in the world have the so called authorities heard that they kill or attack a peaceful student protest? Your people are not doing anything.

Your education was the best! Pat utomi's education was the best! Professor wole soyinka's education was the best! We don't have anything called "CIVIC EDUCATION" in our institutions sir, will the government today allow the study of what will awaken the youth towards their affairs? No sir!

On a final note he said to me, you have a part to play, rather than criticize the state government (I told him earlier about the bad state of governance in kwara state) look at the top and tell your friends the errors, that is an aspect of civic education, when the head is bad, the body will be bad as well, if the federal is bad the state will be bad too!

We got to the park, I thanked him for the ride and alighted.

Upon hearing the inconclusive election/handing over of the National Association Of Nigerian Students (NANS) were hooliganism and thuggery took it cause once more at the convention ground, a car is useless without the engine, so is the election of NANS executives without the Convention chairman but this time around our convention chairman is a campaign manager for one of the presidential aspirant, please tell me will a mother put a hot roasted yam on the palm of her child so as to burn the child? Mr chairman will favor his candidate, so as to get the blessing of their political godfathers. I shook my head and said alas! None of us is an option, where is our civic education? Please bring back Civic education for the Nigerian youths/students, and in our institutions rather than say you're murray something and you want to make common sense, use that common sense to legislate and make good laws that will cut the allowances and salaries of the national assembly, rather than call paul le guen a foreigner for a national job, call and not recycle a capable Nigerian technical adviser, rather than use the bill to promote and flaunt your anointed sons and daughters under the guise of NotTooYoungToRun promote CIVIC EDUCATION in all federal, state and private institutions

Education / Kwara State Students Says NO To Saboteurs by Lucaking(m): 5:00am On Apr 21, 2016
"Na fake! Na fake!! Na fake comrade! Na fake!! Na fake!! Na fake comrade!! Comrade wey wan betray hin people na fake comrade"
Untill a man is tested never call him faithful! Youths of kwara state! Students of Kwara state! We have been betrayed! The efforts of National Association Of Kwara State Students (National Headquarters) has been sabotaged! Combatant greetings to all students of kwara state home and abroad, In the past weeks, the National President of National Association Of Kwara State Student has worked tirelessly to ensure we get our 5 years unpaid bursary and also get it steadily! Incase we all didn't know Comr. Oyedepo Abdulafis (Rozay) was arrested! And threatened with his studentship in the university! And yet he was unshakeable and his love for the welfarism of kwara state student was not bought.

Efforts were about to yield result! Untill the bad eggs in our dear association came up with their act! Comr. Yusuf Muhammad O. (Director-General of National Association Of Kwara State Students Headquarters) betrayed us all!!! Youths are the essential tool in making the tomorrow possible but our future I say is impossible with the acts of Comr. yusuf muhammad (Director-General Nakss Hq). On this day April 20th 2016 Comr. Yusuf Mohammad betrayed all kwara state students home and abroad by going alongside to the Kwara State Government House with his fellow corrupt executives, legislative and judiciary members of Nakss Hq to collect the sum of #100,000 from the executive governor of Kwara State, On this note they have all put the effort the National President into the drainage, On this note they have all betrayed the trust Nakssites bestowed on them.

Together we will all raise our voices and pick our pens as we say no to corruption in the federal republic of Nigeria, we will all strongly say NO to saboteurs who have come to show us that truly 'Jamba' is what they do in the Emirate city of Ilorin, Comr. Yusuf Mohammad O. (Director General of National Association of Kwara State Students National Headquarters) has shown us truly that what a Father does is what the child will look forward to doing and surpassing someday, however just as Executive landlord of Kwara state is in dock facing federal charges so will all Students of Kwara state students home and abroad rise to say NO to his betrayal and demand for his immediate resignation! And we will also in togetherness raise our voices in support of the National President of NAKSS who on his own part has shown that truly this is an era of Intellectual NAKSS, a changed NAKSS and that his integrity will never be bought for money!!!

Aluta continua!!!

Politics / My Answers To Corruption by Lucaking(m): 11:51pm On Apr 06, 2016
My Candid Opinion...What's Your Take ?

Once I was a kid but now I am a youth !!!

I have been to places, heard from people and even read in magazines , books and journals. Yet it has never been ascribed any prominent title other than its.

Scholars had gone out of their premise in designing befitting definitions for it but yet it made no difference .

Some said it has eaten deeply into the fabric of the nation.

Others says it started from the Gate man to the Uniform man.

Others have it that it begins from father to son and even from husband to wife.

But they finally concluded that it's effects has soiled the ceremonial garment of the economy.

You may care to know, what is it that am pointing at ?

My dear reader the topic is not far fetched it's no other issue than the most Popular but nebulous term called #CORRUPTION

You would agree with me using Nigeria as a case study that corruption has been in place even before the 1914 Marriage of inconvenience Alias #AMALGAMATION.

Haven notice this amongst us our leader had tried so many means to curb this social malady with the creation of various structural adjustment programs (S.A.P) such as KAI, WAI, EFCC and the likes.

You asked your dog to watch out for the thief when you are the bigger thief .

Tell me who is deceiving who?

It is not unconnected with this that the federal character policy was introduced.
Although they had tried haven been able to make attempts in fighting this corruption,So why not praise them or even applaud them and give them title "Proto-Anti-Corruptionist" just as some people where being name tagged as "Proto-Nationalist"

You try curbing it in the Academic sector it surfaces into Agricultural sector .

You curb in the Agricultural sector and it surfaces in the petroleum sector.

You tackle it in the petroleum sector it surfaces in the security and defense sector.

You face at the defense sector and you still find it dancing and singing praises in the religious sector.

Then I say to you....
#WhyNotLeaveItAloneAndStopWastingOurBloodyTime

Well that's my own candid opinion...you care to know why?

For more than 10 decades now we have been seeing corruption as one of the major social vice in our society, why not take a paradigm shift in our approach towards it and let's begin to see it as vital resource to our economy.

Although this might seem weird but I tell you from the weirdest of things we can derive sense.

1) Appreciate those that have stolen from this nation both past and present as much as they willing to repent.

2) The super powers behind the fuel scarcity in this nation negotiate with them and let us have fuel.

3) It's been over a year now that our girls are gone why not negotiate with the #BOKOHARAM and #BringBackOurGirls if that's what it takes.

4) Discuss with the super powers behind our power supply, give them what they require of you so that we can stop importing generators.

5) Dollar can be #1000 - $1 I don't mind as far as Nigerians can afford it in a corrupt stable economy.

Now I think it's time for Nigeria to use what she have to get what she wants let her swallow her pride and realize that she has corruption no doubt let her make use of it wisely and bring back the foreign investors that had left her or planning to leave soon so sad.

On this note I ask my readers once again #WhatsYourTake?

Literature / What Vows Should Lovers Really Make? by Lucaking(m): 9:23pm On Mar 21, 2016
Hi! It's been a while and that's why today, I am posting something very different from what I've posted in the past.
Thinking about the world as it is now, relationship and marriage problems are aspects that everyone in one way, directly or indirectly have suffered from and one of the reasons there are problems in relationships and marriages no doubt is because of wrong vows made by lovers, most especially, the masculine side. This reason has made me write a very short note about what vows lovers should really make and it is :

"I don't want to feel lost without you, I want myself found with you.
Without you, I don't want to feel incomplete but I want to be whole with you.
I definitely can live without you but I want to live with you.
I don't want to die for you, I want to stay alive with you.
Not a single grenade will I catch for you but I will set a hundred others to keep you safe.
I don't promise not to make mistakes but you have my words that I will always learn from them.
I don't promise to take you round the world but I promise to give you my world.
I don't promise to always make you laugh but I'll always be available to wipe your tears.
I don't promise to be perfect but I promise to be the best I can be."

And that's it above, two sides to it all. The first side is the vow made my most people while the other is the vow that should really be made.
Do you agree with me? What's your take on this?

Politics / Open Letter To Senators Of The National Association Of Kwara State Students by Lucaking(m): 7:52pm On Mar 19, 2016
An Open Letter to the Senators of the National Association Of Kwara State Students

"A delegate to an assembly or gathering, who is sent to observe and report but not to take part officially in its activities" www.dictionary.com/browse/observer. This is the definition of who an observer is.

I hurriedly went to Google for clarification who knows I might have been wrong in my definition, to my surprise I was right it was definitely what I thought. Why were we ill-treated then? Why did we have to stay under the scorching-sun while they enjoyed the comfort of the classroom? I was quite happy they heeded to the words from the various articles targeted at them, I saw more responsible dressing from our "Students legislator" Having witnessed the previous senate sitting I was determined to always come observe and report back to those who thinks National Association of Kwara State Student is long dead.

Constitution supersedes customs and irrational decisions, they call us leaders of tomorrow, we clamor the older generation got it wrong, now in our own jurisdiction we pick from the irrational decisions of the older generation. Fashola, Lai Mohammed, Chris Nigige, Aishe Al-hassan among others were not asked to stay outside the National Assembly when the legislators called on them for screening. Why should a body representing the interest of Kwara state students (Home and abroad) tell the same students they represent to stand outside in the sun! And also the appointees of the National president while they enjoy the comfort of the Government secondary school classroom?

Senators of National association of Kwara state students (NAKSS) The era of indolence is over! Nakssites are now ready to be informed about the happening of our beloved association, this is an intellectual era! even the federal legislators are having issues with the citizenry they want to take away from us our only channel of calling them to order, they want to pass #SocialMediaBill and trust us we won't give in as we say #NoToSocialMediaBill.. You represent Us! You belong to Us! We put you there! You have no right to send observers outside with the excuse of telling them to write their president before coming.. Just as you heeded to been responsible by putting on decent cloths to the sittings today, go back and reconstruct all customs that isn't in the constitution of the association!!!

bla bla bla bla bla bla bla...... your problem is that you failed to heed to a simple advice. Your muslim scholars preach hatred against Christians in your mosques, even say prayers against chriatians, you teach your children that we are the worst of mankind yet you find flimsy excuses for all that?

how many times have you been woken up from your sleep at 12midnight or at 2 or 3am by church speakers blasting?? but that's what your mosques do everyday. you'd be sleeping and hearing "Allah Akbar" in your dreams.

In case you didn't know Muslims also threatens Christians with hell fire, and last I knew that wasn't an insult.

Don't be hypocritical, accept your wrongs. Muslims always always curse out on Christians in their mosques where's we don't even remember you lots in our churches
sir/ma as much as I didn't write this to create social enemity between my readers I will implore that you calm down and do not send direct words to anybody.. yes we know that we make use of speaker in calling prayers as early as possible in the morning, but I bet it that lots of Christians are happy with that because it serves as an early morning alarm to them. also on the issue of Christians not disturbing with speaker my broda/sis Una dey do vigil pass anything now!!!! please note that when a person is wrong you solely and individually blame him not his family or friends so I urge not to conclude and never "say Islam is bad" blame a Muslim when he does wrong not the religion. thank you

How many disbelievers did the prophet look in the eyes and said you are going to hell?
Is it only Preaching of Going Hell that we have in Islam?
To the best of my knowledge most( not all) of our Alfa are illiterate ( here am not talking about Western education) they message are out of space.
There are a million and one lectures they can give without having hatred speeches, without attacking people believe or without talking about things that are illogical.
Listen to Mufti Menk lectures and hear quality lectures, there are Nigerian Lecturer who also give QUALITY lectures too but they are few, in South West here the Major lecturer you hear there lectures in most public place have lectures that are so barbaric.
Using public address system, even if all the churches are using it to disturb, its those not give Muslim right to use it in order to disturb too, it against Islam, for the fact that someone his barking at me those not mean I should bark at the person, doing that just make worse than that person.
Jazakallahu khairan sir/ma for taking time out to drop a comment. I believe with time the rate of illiteracy amongst the cleric will become minimal as they now strive to acquire western education also
Islam for Muslims / Message From A Concerned Nigerian Muslim by Lucaking(m): 7:56am On Dec 12, 2015
salaam alaykum brothers and sisters in Islam, I wish to direct my message to all Islamic scholars and lecturers/Alfas in Nigeria. Islamophobia (meaning the fear or hatred of Islam or Muslims) is fast becoming a trend in the world today reasons been that they say we preach hatred. Our Quran is a book of truth and light yes we know. it teaches us to be good, loving and responsible individuals in our community and to the world at large but we can only see this within ourselves what we give and say to the outsiders matters a lot, as I heard the sermon after solat subhi this morning within myself i knew it was outrightly wrong the masjid makes use of a gigantic public address system that cover at least 3/5 streets away from where it is located and yet the lecturer was happily dishing out words that could amount to religious hatred within the society. Not the killings committed by the bastards who covers up with Islam this time, the preaches our Alfas gives matters a lot, talking to all those in the masjid is enough we will understand! those outside are patiently waiting in fact they are recording or writing them down (this time it is not they message they are interested in, they are recording/writing down the hate words). This is won't put us in good light in our society!!! We shouldn't forget Nigeria is a secular state, the Saudis, Iraq and Iran we make reference to are purely Islamic state. Before they say who is this bastard trying to teach us our religion let me make it known that I share and testify to the "Shahadah

Education / Once Again UNILORIN Unfair To It Students by Lucaking(m): 10:07am On Nov 05, 2015
i am writing this piece in a state of disappointment. 29th May 2015 remains a day
of history in this country of ours as a new Sheriff (as our president is called) came to town. The president
brought his change agenda and coincidentally our mini government on campus (SU) adopted and modified
it to Positive change. This I felt was a good initiative.
With d adoption of TSA of the federal Government, we discovered our School fees was reduced and we all
were in a joyous mood chanting Praises of Buhari bt surprisingly, within 48 hrs all was history. A
compulsory levy of 7000 naira was added to the school fees with 5000 for school WiFi and 2000 for sweat
shirt.
Now I ask myself, is this the idea of Positive change? Y are the students grumbling and not bold enough
to confront the people they voted in? This is an Institution that has a President with his cabinet, Senate
President with other senators. Were they voted in to just appoint committees and collect salaries? Of what
use is the school WiFi to students staying off campus? Students of social science faculty and Arts Faculty
have no access to the WiFi and u expect them to pay for this. Majority of we students have our modems
that we subscribe on at our convenience and yet u made d WiFi which it is sure will not be accessible
during academic period compulsory for us. Seriously this is 1st Grade extortion. We all want the real
positive change and not a positive change on social media or papers. The entire Unilorin say no to
compulsory payment for WiFi, it should be a thing of interest and nt mandatory. SU President and CEC
members, Senate President and the council, this is where we need u people to represent us, give us the
true example of the Positive change u preach. "Economic Justice can be won by free men through free
enterprise"

of history in this country of ours as a new Sheriff (as our president is called) came to town.
"Economic Justice can be won by free men through free
enterprise". # saynotobandwithpayment .

Islam for Muslims / Is It Truly Muslims by Lucaking(m): 7:57am On Aug 07, 2015
Is it truly Muslim??
Does Living in Israel or Rome make me a Christian? speaking the language of the Catholics does that defines who a Christian is? Would a mother truly kill one of her own? so much questions filled in my head who is ready to give me answers? For how long would the Muslims be blamed for carrying out attacks on fellow Muslims? It now becoming an order of the day for we to wake up to the news of a bomb attack in a Muslim country, yet they tell me it a Muslim who carry's out all this purposed attacks on Muslims.. Speaking Arabic and growing beards doesn't make one a Muslim.. A Muslim cares for his fellow compatriots not harm, Faces behind terrorists sect should not be called Muslims, I can wake up tomorrow take up a bible and plant a bomb in spain, Rome or Greece does that make me a christian? Well I strongly believe Islam is going to rise above western propaganda sooner or later one thing that keeps me going although it saddens my heart is the word of the prophet Muhammad (PBUH) one of the lesser sign of that day where no one will be able to raise up his/her face, husbands running away from his wife, mother not been able to defend her child, everyone for his/her is the "attack and collapse of the holy house Kahaba" meaning all this is only for a while more is yet to come from the west... Just yesterday thousands of Saudis trooped out to donate blood for fellow injured Muslims who got hurt in Thursday attack that is brotherly love, that is Islam! kill them today kill them tomorrow they will never fear or shake they love their Ilah and hope to meet Him after death.. I hope to see who is going to last and better on the Day of recompense.. We or them
