Emmatee1816: Good Evening House. After taking a long break from my immigration journey (due to disappointment from my previous USA Application)
I’m considering sponsoring my wife for a masters program in the UK. I would appreciate if I can get insights on the basic and necessary steps to take.
Importantly I would like to know if it’s best to do it myself or I use an agency. Personally, I would rather do it myself and channel whatever money I’m supposed to pay any agency to the tuition fee. Thanks in advance. Consider MRes or PhD for your wife. The admission process is what you can handle yourself including visa application |

Hello oldies in the house, please I need your honest opinion.
Between University of Aberdeen, University of East Anglia and University of Bradford, which one will be better in terms of:
1. Flexible fee payment (allowing installment payment)
2. Job availability |

nikkygirl: Hi all. Please I’m asking on behalf of my brother who is looking to move to Australia next year. A little background: He will be 34 years old November 29, Bsc Public admin with 4.3 CGPA, MSc History and international studies to be completed first quarter 2026. He is currently a junior lecturer in the same university where he is doing his masters. We want him to move to Australia hopefully next year to further his education and we’d need advice and guidance from everyone please. He is passionate about teaching so definitely something in education. Another MSc? Phd? Affordable schools? Scholarships? A head start towards the right pathway would be very appreciated. Thank you Does he have publications? If yes, let him go for PhD or Master by Research. He should develop a proposal and start contacting supervisors from different schools. Scholarships are available if he has a good research background. Otherwise, go for another master's and be ready to self fund |

Kdamilola: Hello Ludachriz, Your passport expiry only has to have a minimum of 6 months left according to DHA. So, an almost 3 year expiry is very much ok for Australian PhD student visa application. Mine only had a year+ left when I applied in January 2024 and it was approved. So, no worries! I appreciate your response |

Ikechukwu09: Hello all,
I have been granted full scholarship for my PhD at WSU. I have a short window to apply for visa as I am to resume in Jan. I already have the COE from the school, but these are my queries:
How much has to be in my SOA if I am attaching one. Or if I need to attach any at all, given the full scholarship, which includes living expenses of $35k yearly.
Do I need to attach IELTS as the school did not require it. And I heard it is exempted for PhDs.
Ties include an affidavit stating that I have inherited land; a company which I am shareholder and director. The CEO has written that I will be returning to work as COO. I also am a secretary of an arts community, while holding an appointment with a state governor.
How does this profile look and what else might hamper visa approval.
Waiting for your responses, my Egbons. Please how did you get the affidavit for land ownership? Was only the affidavit enough or one still need to show prove of ownership in the form of receipt or further documents? Did you later write the IELTS or it was not required as a PhD student? |

Reanzi: It depends on the school and the programme. For visa too, some persons are exempted (like phd applicants). So you just have to start by checking the requirements of the school you are applying to. Are you sure that PhD students are exempt from writing IELTS for visa application? |

Gbemyco: Hi Gurus in the house. Need your guidance please 🙏🙏
Recently received a PhD scholarship offer at one of the Go8 Australian universities covering full tuition fee, stipend and also received couple's OSHC support based on agreed terms.
My questions:
1. What are additional supporting documents, aside the CoE, GTE, OSHC & all related medicals, am to include in my visa application for myself and wife only?
2. In what ways can we show strong home ties considering that I will be applying with my wife?
3. Do I still need provide statement of account as proof of funds for the couple's visa application considering that my research program is on full Scholarship?
4. Can you just give a general tip on what best to be done to increase my chances of getting the visa for myself and wife applying once?
Finally, I look forward to connecting with anyone in my case intending to apply for couple's visa from now till June this year.
Thank you so much for your anticipated responses and tips. Hy...I guess you're in Australia now. Please how did you prove your home tie in your visa application? |

frankmoney: I have been having difficulties finding a supervisor for my PhD in Australia. It's either they don't respond or the ones available are no longer taking phd students.
Pls any phd student in the house can you help with tips ? Can I apply directly instead of sfinding a supervisor?
My BSc and MSc are in Architecture Do you have publications? It's very important in getting supervisors attention. I remember having a zoom meeting with a Professor in the University of New England and he mentioned the fact that he was impressed that I'm able to publish in a particular journal where he had also published. Within this year, I was able to get about 8 supervisory approvals from different schools. In fact in some schools, I get approval from two different professors. More so, ensure that you attach your updated CV (with a list of your publications and conference attendance), proposal and MSC transcript to all your mails to professors |
