GboyegaD: Are you planning to write GRE? I would suggest you do and focus more on the QA and AW. Most schools (not so sure about recent times) focus on GRE as a decision maker for Economics PhD (talking from experience).
Also, you mind sharing what school you finished from and how your Mathematics/Statistics, Microeconomics, and Macroeconomics grades are? Would you consider attending a terminal master's in economics before proceeding to a PhD? I wish I can write the GRE but the fee is just not here...over two months salary if I'm not mistaking. I have been focusing on schools that made GRE optional or those that do not request for it at all... especially European countries. I finished from UNN, the courses you listed were fairly ok at undergraduate but excellent at PG (As few B). If the terminal Masters will be sponsored, I could definitely, but my target is direct PhD |

NUELUSA2023: What course are you going for?
Your profile is already competitive, but like someone mentioned, address the Bsc GPA in your SOP.
Also apply to schools that require application fees, it will broaden your chances. Economics Thanks for the words |

GboyegaD: I am not sure you should be bothered about your low CGPA. Find schools who have your program of interest and is comfortable with your CGPA. Just make sure you address the low CGPA and all you have done to make yourself suitable for the program in your CGPA. Thank you for this |

Total and indefinite strike is the way to go. We have a very insensitive govt in power. Over 4 months after pump price moved from 180 to 610, your workers are still receiving the same salary and you're asking them to be patient |

Greetings to the gurus here for the great work you are doing. For someone with 3.23 GPA in BSc, 4.90 in PGD and 4.69 in MSc, with 2 scopus publication and 1 already accepted, and one Thomson Reuters also accepted (all first author); with about 2 years lecturing experience, what are the chances like for a PhD considering the low BSc GPA I noticed most US schools emphasize more on BSc GPA |

So what's the congratulations for Government has really dealt with Nigerians to the extent that if they punish you by 200% and just favour you by 1% you will start dancing and forget the punishment |

Politics › Igbo APC Group Begs Sanwo-Olu To Release N26 Million For Pro-Tinubu Rally In Lag by LudaChriz(op): 10:32am On Oct 06, 2022 |
An Igbo group of the All Progressives Congress is soliciting N26 million from Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to organise a rally to rally support for Bola Tinubu as the ruling party’s presidential candidate. In a letter seen by Peoples Gazette, the Ndigbo group asserted that “a minimum of four thousand five hundred people with PVCs who are members (of) our great party APC of Igbo extraction in Lagos” would attend the rally scheduled to be held at Blue Roof hall in Ikeja. “Therefore, with this number of people, we hereby present to you a very modest budget of approximately twenty-six million four hundred thousand naira (26,400,000.00) only,” added the letter addressed to Joe Igbokwe, a special adviser to the Lagos governor on drainage and water resources. A breakdown of the fund comprises N4.5 million for branded caps, N8.4 million for mobilisation, N1.3 million for the venue, N1.3 million for entertainment, N270,000 for music, N100,000 for garden eggs and kola and so forth. Organisers of the rally projected that 4,500 Igbo members would participate in the rally. They include Nd’Igbo in APC Lagos covering the executives and leaders in the 57 LGAs and LCDAs, Ohaneze executives in all LGAs, Igbo-speaking community executives, executives of the 58 major markets in Lagos state and executives of over 100 town unions in Lagos. In January, the London-based Financial Times put the cost of Nigeria’s presidential election at $2 billion, a sum that the politician would loot the nation’s treasury to recover if elected. “It takes an estimated $2 billion to get a president elected. Those who pay will expect to be paid back,” the newspaper wrote. https://gazettengr.com/igbo-apc-group-begs-sanwo-olu-to-release-n26-million-for-pro-tinubu-rally-in-lagos/

toivar: I don't understand how this month salary was paid by FG. Some persons in UNIBEN have revyand some have not or is it my bank First bank that is causing the delays. The damage this dreaded APC govt has done to the university system is immeasurable. NASU and SSANU called off their strike on the 24th of August (meaning they work for one week in August) but no salary has been paid yet for that month or week if they wish to pay by week. Are they saying the one week work done after months of starvation is going to be free work? Which type of heart does these people in govt has? It is just so unfortunate. May it never be well with the generation of anybody that will vote for APC in next year's Presidential election |

This is so unfair. I stand with ASUU now. This government is wicked and insensitive. Only ASUU understands this government well.
