It doesn't take a smart person to know that family, friends, etc weren't options worth considering in the first place, that is why loan systems exist.

What they are doing is illegal because they family and friends are not the person guarantor. They should contact the guarantor direct

This is the kind of $tupid mentality many Nigerians have. For you to leave your family and friends and go take a loan from a loan shark, then you should be ready to bear the burden. Even though the world is at a standstil at this time and you are being hassled by the loan companies, that doesn't give some of you the right to say that you wouldn't pay back because the company is harassing you. If you don't want to be harassed, then don't apply for a loan from these loan sharks. Look to your family, friends, church, mosque or local cooperative societies. Just don't be broke and silly at the same time.

I'm against somebody taking loan and refuse to pay back. But the problem is the harassment method Sokoloan used to recovery there money is unacceptable.

Sokoloan now take law into their hands without any punishment from the Government.They way the disgrace my Cousin is too bad.

For example my parents have a house in Abuja and some tenants have not pay for their house rent since ending of last year. If my parents take law into there hands and evict the tenants without court order you will be one of the people that will condemn it.

Because according to the Agreement between my parents and tenants that they must pay their new house rent a day after the rent expired.

So if we go by your logic once the rent expired my parents should start harassing the tenants by sending messages to their contacts that the tenants is a thief because this is exactly what Sokoloan is doing to there Customer's.

Very very useless people. Wetin my eyes see this past 2 days alone enh. Just 3 days after deadline they started threatening me that they will message all my contacts that I am fraudulent and want to run away with the companys money eeeh.

I had to just talk to my guy to lend me the balance of the money and paid them this morning.

U see those two numbers that was disturbing me, messaged them that I've paid o and they can go f*ck themselves.

They were now calling me, didn't pick. They used another line to call me eventually I picked and they said I should pls calm down bla bla bla. I shall told them to delete all my details from their system.

DON'T GO NEAR SOKOLOAN O... THEY ARE ALSO THE OWNERS OF 9JA CASH AND I THINK GETCASH TOO. If you want to live a peaceful life, avoid them.

You should be happy that they served you paper what about Sokoloan that will disgrace you by sending your contacts on your phone message. and they will be calling you every day on the phone.

very true. had this experience with sokoloan. As in, it was terrible....I just didnt have the money, it wasnt even that i didnt want to pay. Give me more time na lie, always bombarding me with calls and then they started spaming my contacts with messages like I used them for reference which i never did and then saying I was an alleged fraudster on the run for 5k ........mehn it wasnt funny.... when about 5 people called me, I was so infruriated and then now decided I was never going to pay back. I sent messages to all my contacts they my gmail contacts had been hacked and i'm being defamed by scammers desperately trying to tarnish my image. All my contacts got the message so people stopped contacting me. They were even piting me sef, that was how i was able to overcome. After a while I blocked all their contacts, there is this particular rude girl sending threatning messages everytime that they will arrest me, they will do this....untop 5k abeg shift comot. e don reach about 4 months now. The last person to call me I said if i pay now will they retract their lies and defaming mesages, if they defame me they should take that as the money abeg, no time. Now me and folks laugh about them as Scammers.

But seriously something meeds to be done about Sokoloan, they have very unethical practices. Somebody needs to sue them and put them out of business, get them banned on playtore or something. Very rude HND or OND loan recovery agents that cant even spell well.

Honestly, something needs to be done to Sokoloan, they are taking the law into their hands.

This is a very risky maneuvre, for some Landlord who is ignorant of the law and is facing a crooked, wicked, tenant-from-hell!

1.) It will become very obvious, that the Landlord is "not on ground" and has very limited knowledge of the tenancy law.

2.) Once the above is established, it is in that same court that some "touts" will approach the tenant and offer to help him frustrate the landlord (Note: these touts are working with the Court Registrar and Clerk and they all share the proceeds)

3.) They can use repeated adjournment to frustrate your case. they can hand it over to a corrupt Judge who wil collect "Egunje" (through his Registrar) and put your case as the last, to be heard in the next one year!

4.) Every Law has "technicalities" which a lay-man may not be able to interprete or take advantage-of!
For example: If your Baliiff is "bribed", he may just fix a Saturday for the eviction for you.
You will be happy but l am sure that only Lawyers (or those familiar with the law properly, know that you cant do an eviction on a weekend of public holiday! It is Null and Void under the law! )

In summary, l think it is safer to let "professionals" handle the matter.
Some wicked tenant know pass landlord sef!

BTW: If l were this landlord, l will not push the tenant too hard to leave.... l will want to ensure that his property is carted-away openly and "Auctioned" to recover owed rent. That is how you teach such people a lesson.

Since you don't want to contact a lawyer.Let me give you a summary of what you should do .Serve him the statutory notices ie 7 days and one month,then file a suit for recovery of premises at the nearest magistrate court.Once the case comes up tell the court you are handling the case yourself,enter witness box and tell the court what the man did and the order you are seeking from them.The bailiff will then enter the box and tell the court that he served the man but he didn't come .The court will then grant you the order you are seeking.You will take the judgement copy and go to the bailiff and pay them for policemen. The policemen and the bailiffs will go to the man's house one early morning, break his house and pack all his properties to the court premises.I hope you learnt something today from this.Goodluck
