The Lagos State University Medical Students Association (LASUMSA) has organised a certificate course in global health for its members and students from University of Benin (UNIBEN). The weeklong event, which held at the premises of the institution in Ikeja, Lagos, was organised in collaboration with AB Global Health Initiative and Global Health Focus. Speaking at the event, the Provost of the school, Prof. Babatunde Solagberu, enjoined participants to get as much knowledge as they need in the course, expressing delight that the course, first of its kind in West Africa took place in the school. Also speaking, Don Eliseo Lucero-Prisno, an associate Professor, Global Health, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, said the course was aimed at introducing participants to the theories and concept, including current trends, issues, challenges and debate in global health. Participants at the certificate course included postgraduate students, medical students, pharmacists and young professionals from various parts of Africa. Highlight of the training was a global health case competition, where participants were divided into groups and given topics on various global health challenges to present. The competition was won by the group that presented the topic,‘Illegal drugs and global health.’ Certificates were awarded to all participants at the end of the course, while awards were given to winners of the global health case competition. http://m.guardian.ng/sunday-magazine/lasumsa-hosts-students-for-global-health-course/ http://www.edufrica.com/2016/10/nigeria-lasu-medical-students-organize-course-on-global-health/

He will spend some years in the prison first, then pick up jamb form . Peradventure he gains admission, he will spend 6-7 years in the university.after that, he can now be absorb into the profession. He actually might be a medical school drop out, that should explain his medical knowledge. |
