Maser: Amaechi did the right thing and acted in good faith by stopping that fraudulent university!
I told people when they started that project that it was a conduit pipe for siphoning funds by the former NIMASA helmsman, a close friend of Tompolo, recommended to the post by Tompolo, and who is now on trial for gross Embezzlement, in honour of Tompolo and for Tompolo's benefits. All the contracts for the project running into billions were awarded to Tompolo yet not much on ground.
We had Maritime Academy of Nigeria Oron which could easily have been upgraded to a University in the same Niger Delta, but because this people wanted to steal, they created this University in a place where you will have to travel for hours on water before you get there and voted billions to the project and siphoned them. Who in his right mind will send his child to such an inaccessible and risky place that you travel for hours on water to reach when Oron is there. The said former NIMASA man also set up Marine Institutes in Nigerian universities like UNN, IBB University et al to train people with humongous sums to support them, so what's the rationale behind another University? Embezzlement! That's why Amaechi stopped it and said that Oron should have been upgraded instead. Everything is not politics. You may not like Amaechi, but neither him nor his Wife is from Oron. It's about doing the right thing. We should learn to be reasonable in this country. Even if it was you, you'll stop such a project except of course if you gat no sense of right and wrong. From.Oron to Okerenkoko is over 250 miles, is it a crime to have two maritime institutes in the Delta considering the amount of resources available to be tapped in that sector. We have the Nigeria Defence Academy in Kaduna, less than 40miles away is the Nigerian Millitary school & Command & staff college in Zaria. Why don't you make arguement for any of those major millitary training institutions to be relocated to South west or south east that does not boast of such? |

Adekorya: I don't understand how some people use their anus to reason ahead of their brain.
Shey this Niger delta avengers look like a year group?
With way they are carrying out their operations, a reasonable human person will know that this a group has bn in existence for more than a year.
I'm not against their action neither am in support of it, but I'm totally against you saying they are bombing because Amaechi stopped Maritime University. I don't know why monkeys reason better than a lot of humans, especially the zombies breed. Everyone knew the Niger Delta was on a delicate balance after a protracted period of absolute neglect and relocating a tertiary institution located by the FG in one of the most neglected area in the region to the Northwest was obviously going to flare some frayed nerves in area, but APC govt choose to do otherwise giving the people more reason to see this APC regime as hostile & the result is this I guess common sense is not common to APC & it's foot soldiers after all. |

Politics › Re: What We Need Is A Sovereign State, Not Pipeline Contracts – Militants by luvinhubby(m): 12:24pm On May 27, 2016 |
Keneking: Ok
What is a sovereign state? - In international law, a sovereign state is a nonphysical juridical entity that is represented by one centralized government that has sovereignty over a geographic area.
-International law defines sovereign states as having a permanent population, defined territory, one government, and the capacity to enter into relations with other sovereign states.
-It is also normally understood that a sovereign state is neither dependent on nor subjected to any other power or state.
Issues:
- They want install their people and control our resources. E.g Jonathan would be their Prime Minister or President - MNC's would be paying them taxes and royalties, there would be lots of cash available to them. - They would still not be richer. Their predicaments would not improve. Even pollutions would increase thereby degrading their natural sources of livelihood. - Issues of legitimacy would arise and the Western powers would do the needful. - Nigeria and its Army would deal with them accordingly in line with global practise. - Rise in militancy is expected in the region various groups would emerge for example Bini's, Efik, Esan, Ibibio, Igbo, Annang, Oron, Ijaw, Itsekiri, Yoruba, Isoko, Urhobo, Ukwuani, Kalabari and Ogoni would join the fray. - Economically, our Naira would still be a unifying currency for Nigeria and the so called sovereign state. - My brothers from the South East would be divided along the lines of joining or remaining in one Nigeria
What nonsense Jonathan sef Struggled to understand everything you wrote. |

omoboy88: Negotiation and financial empowerment are 2 different things. The fact that OBJ was negotiating with them does not mean the final arrangement that was concluded with Umaru would have happenned under OBJ.
I am not a fan of OBJ but one thing I know about him is that OBJ will not empower militants with the kind of deal that was done ! Stop contadicting yourself, 'dealt with' & now 'negotiation'. |

omoboy88: because the government is not strong willed and is afraid of public and international backlash! ....it seems it is you the matter pass.
OBJ would have dealt with them, Buhari has an image problem and so he is hampered as he is likely keen not to be seen as the same old Buhari of 1983, if he attacks they will say same old Buhari...human rights violations etc etc. OBJ started negotiating with them before Umaru concluded it. U.K & U.S told him same thing, 'you can't fight this with army'. |

omoboy88: clueless government. You have made yourselves slaves to militants, giving them more money to arm themselves and blow up pipelines in future in case you decide to terminate them.
A proper government would take them out, irrespective of cost to economy or human rights noise. What they are doing amounts to treason. There is a reason why you don't negotiate or acquiesce to terrorists....you embolden and empower them and ensure their continuity and that you are always a slave to them. This is not terrorists or insurgency conflict (they are not after human lives), this is an economic warfare & govts always loses this type. |

ceejay80s: When gej was president, niger delta be like london, what did he do for his own people? The state still looks untidy till date, now u wan make buhari turn the place to usa for dem abi? At least there was relative peace there & Nigeria experienced it's fastest economic growth between 2012 -2014 courstesy of the unhindered flow of oil revenue from the region and ND states like Rivers, Akwa Ibom & Delta largely benefitted from it. Buhari destroyed all that with his illiteracy. Is Buhari not mad? |
