Gurus in the house....my accord 2012 displays TPMS light on the dash......I gauge all the tire to have same pressure (40) and the light is still up......how can I get rid of the TPMS light.

from 2006 it was specified that the US version was only fitted with CVT because most civic in naija are bought brand new most would be fitted with automatic

Warning, long epistle.

Back then, my mum used a 1996 accord. We had serious PS issues with the car starting from when my dad decided based on one corrupt mechanic's advise to change the PS pump that was leaking PS fluid. A "toks" pump was installed but failed the next day. I returned the car to same mechanic but guess what, he said he threw it away and someone must have carried it . For more than a year we changed 3 more pumps, all gave up within less than a week.

My mum wrestled with that steering for over a year until i travelled for a wedding with the car to Jalingo, Taraba state. The alternator gave up. I got a toks and used the mechanic to do some other checks on the car. After the repairs, the mechanic drove the car and was disappointed about the steering. He recommended his boy check it but i was skeptical. He insisted, i obliged. Luckily, i had the 2 non working pumps in the boot. This mechanic bought N500 fuel, chose 2 of the pumps, opened both then chose one. Washed it throughout, bleed the steering rack of all PS oil (ATF). He bought 1 litre of road side drum engine oil. Reinstalled everything back.

Voila! It took 3 years before we had any issue(steering hose leak).

On my own car, 2003 accord, i had a steering rack seal leak January this year. A mechanic said he can change the seal. He did the change successfully but used Seahorse Dexron III ATF to refill the PS system. Steering was perfect, so I thought.

Drove to a filling station to add fuel during that fuel crisis, the steering totally went out on me, i almost crashed into a parked car. PS was totally out and pump whinning/fuming. I thought air was getting into the system. Managed to park in the fuel queue. 10mins later line moved, started engine and steering came back perfectly. Line moving slowly, 2mins later whine started and PS went out again. From then on, 2mins after restarting the car it will go out and 10mins if its a cold start. The pump will be untouchable due to how hot it was. The next one month i did several DIYs, installed clips in all joints, tried all bleeding methods, washed the PS fluid reserve tank and up to 5 total pump disassemblies tweeking one thing or the other each time.

The frequency of the problem reduced when i spilled the PS fluid in the reserve tank and filled with engine oil. So it was part ATF part engine oil. This time, ps never goes out completely but whining is present just like before.

I took the car to Panteka Kaduna, (for those who know), they do some magic with parts there. The recommended PS pump specialist inspected the car, dipped his pinky finger in the PS pump fluid, then told me, you have no problem. He said, "go drain the entire PS fluid and put in engine oil".

I bought 1 litre Forte Visco 2000 engine oil (red coloured). Read up on how to change PS oil. Removed the reserved tank, emptied and washed it with petrol. Put a 75cl eva water bottle in the ps return pipe. Ran the engine until ATF stopped flowing. Reinstalled the tank, filled with engine oil, ran the engine for 10 secs. Topped the engine oil again. Ran engine for 20secs. Gauged it.

Viola! Till this moment, no whine, no whatsoever.

Infact, its better to use ordinary engine oil on Honda power steering than any ATF you see. Trust me, first hand experience (2003 accord).

Honda ps fluid has more viscosity than any ATF but less than engine oil. ATF in the power steering will cause overheating, then pump starts whining, then leaking, then pump knocks out. More viscosity is more stress for the pump but more lubrication. The pump will be better off with engine oil than ATF if oem PS fluid is not affordable. If possible light weight engine oil like 5w30 or 40.

I recently purchased a registered Honda Pilot '04 model and need to carry out complete servicing.
Kindly, recommend the right engine oil, ATF, brake oil, power steering oil.

I would also like to know if you can recommend an A/C expert in Ibadan. Other contributions of gurus in the house are welcome.

Another batch of repentant cultists and youths of Etim Ekpo in Akwa Ibom state, have come out of their hideout in the jungle to surrender their arms and lay down their weapons following the state government’s move towards granting amnesty to the hoodlums who have terrorising the area.

Just last week, hundreds of cultists belonging to various groups in Etim Ekpo and Ukanafun local government areas of Akwa Ibom state, surrendered their arms.

The hoodlums also renounced their membership of the cult groups.

Governor Emmanuel, while addressing the repentant hoodlums, blamed the underdevelopment currently witnessed in the Ukanafun and Etim Ekpo on their activities, stating that no contractor would be willing to work in areas where there is no peace.

Good morning Gazzuzz, please I will also like to make an enquiry on the clock spring issue, I also just got mine replaced 2 weeks ago, but airbag light still remains on, every other thing I.e radio buttons on the steering wheel, cruise and horn now works. Pls how do I turn the airbag light off.

N. B: airbag light came on when clock spring got bad. (05 Sienna)

Okay the PDP presidential primaries have come and gone and a winner and Presidential flag bearer for the party had emerged. He is Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

I am happy for PDP for choosing to field him as the opponent to President Buhari because in so many ways, it clearly sets us back to the scenario of 2015 which is the issue of Corruption vs Integrity.

Under same scenario in 2015, we know how that played out especially with the help of card readers which ensured that PDP no longer were able to inflate vote figures.

Same PDP in the fork of Bukola Saraki the senate president recently tried to eliminate the card readers from the new modified electoral act but Buhari insisted it should be clearly included in the electoral act before he would endorse it. After much back and forth, it was included.

PDP in the past has been tagged as a party with a religion of looting and Nigerians were hoping that this time around, after being given 4 years break from power they would come back refined and more appealing to the many decent Nigerians who abhor all forms of corrupt practices but sadly they seem to have failed in this regard.

Right from their Primaries, it was evident that they just did not care about what people thought about them as they brazenly bribed delegates with large sums of dollars out of desperation and this speaks badly of where they are headed and why.

Between $2500 and $10,000 was shared per delegate by the aspirants of which Atiku was the largest bribe giver.

It is also on record that Atiku had been indicted on money laundry charges by the United States of America in conjunction with Homeland security. Anyone who knows how the homeland security works in USA would know that they are directly responsible for who is allowed in or out of the United states.

Once you are on their radar and red flagged, you have absolutely no hope of getting into the United States of America until your charges have been dropped and they have cleared you.

Atiku for many years (since 2011) has refused to step a foot in the united States based on the reason above. His partners in the money laundry crime have all been arrested, charged and jailed except him. Even his 4th wife resident in the USA who was an accomplice was arrested and jailed.

As it stands, Atiku is a wanted man in the United States of America.

His case was so deep, it became a case study on Corruption for homeland security in the USA.

For a party like PDP to still brazenly want to frolick with a known wanted man and a prolific looter of Nigerias Commonwealth, it shows that this party is far from turning over a new leaf and are still hell bent on continuing with their looting religion but this time, under a new ATM with no pin code called Atiku.

Obasanjo had his fair share of his thieving ways and has never forgiven him till date, now PDP have embraced this internationally known thief as their figure head for 2019 presidential polls. Talk about bad image laundering.
