Romance / Lessons From Miss Nairaland 2016 by M400(f): 12:14am On Jun 26, 2016
I joined Nairaland early this year,I followed Miss Nl 2016 with great attention. From the nominations to the grand finale I was present, when the campaign thread turned into a battle Field I watched it all. Now to the lessons-:
THE TEAM: Some group of people have to belief in you so greatly as to sacrifice their mega bytes and time to campaign on your behalf, whether the initiative to keep them believing is money, your beauty, your brains or your conduct on NL,pity etc it does not matter. This group of people make your matter their personal issue, fighting and throwing stones on your behalf even in your absence. For me the best team this year is TEAM MIMZY,walahi those people can fight until they die and their campaign strategy was dope, they were never tired even when it was like Miss NL was not going to happen this year.Congratulations guys una try for Mimzy!!!
Who you know? - Miss NL no bi joke,so who you know is very crucial. You can have a wonderful team buh people will listen when you have influential people as part of the team, someone like SMELLYMOUTH!!! don't know who that dude is,buh is quite influential on this forum. People you know might not be the obvious influential persons, buh those that work from the background like the................... themselves, they don't say much buh when e happen you go know.
Words- Always learn to say thank you even if you don't mean it,don't waste your time on unnecessary exchange of words with nairalanders, they will always have something to say. Let your team do the fighting while you glow. Be reserved in your words, read, think, before you respond some hating parasite they are everywhere. In the cause of the voting, always be active to spur those that believe in you.
Pictures-Take out time to take nice pictures, your full body and head shots. Your picture background matters, please stay away from the bushes while taking your pictures, less editing, less graphics.
Be real: people love someone they can relate with,be you and have an open mind to ideas and suggestions.
ITS NoT A Do or Die affair: You must not win,buh make an impact that will leave everyone talking, don't go creating Enemies for yourself. Mysticgal achieved that this year!!!!

Romance / Communication Is As Important As Romance by M400(f): 10:33pm On Jun 24, 2016
I write this with a heart bleeding and wishing someone would actually listen to save themselves from all these Heartbreaks. The first week of dating is always filled with love and probably gifts, what happens 6 months into the relationship is what determines if it will last forever.keep communication strong and avoid stupid excuses like 'bae I have been so busy' you are not the only one busy on earth, make out time to call, get involved in his life or her life. We all have to make sacrifices to make our relationships work buh not when its just one person who does it all, every person on earth no matter how loving, has a limit to what he or she can take in.
Love is not enough neither is romance, the goal of every serious relationship is not just to be lovers but bestfriends, that sought of friendship where you have so much to talk about and more. If all you do in your relationship is have sex and nothing else, that's not dating its called screwing and you are not a screw driver. Every human no matter how hard they seem wants to be loved and cherished, behind those walls of appearance is a heart that wants something more than just sex.
Pls note while you are dating, learn to complete each other. If you are in school and his working probably his own business, your work is to sit down and think of how to make him grow. Its not enough to want a rich boyfriend buh how have you contributed to his life, give him a future and he will have no other option to stay with you for life, this goes vice versa.
Over the years I have dated some guys and what keeps them coming back is because I gave them ideas on how to be better in character and otherwise, Read wide ladies, its not about sex any longer with this hard economy he needs ideas on how to become the next dangote and not a Mouth Action. Guys learn to take care of your ladies, you wan date fine girl and you no sabi how to show her love in ways beyond your expertise of sexometry(word does not exist),call her,buy her gifts, take her out, surprise her, contribute in her life intellectually.
Romance ain't Enough

Business / How To Start An Event Planning Company With No Money And No Clients by M400(f): 7:20pm On May 18, 2016
Firstly, if you’re going to quit your job, make sure you have some back up. This doesn’t necessarily have to be cash, but a family or someone that is willing to maintain a roof over your head and food on your table. If you don’t have that, then you will need to ensure you have some cash back up to keep yourself going through your start up phase, this will be a minimum of a year – two years, depending on your company.

This back up, in whatever form is comes is essential! It’s essential because you will need all the energy and focus to get clients and start earning an income.

For an events company, you should be earning a small income within your first year to at least cover some costs.

Once you’ve figured out your back up, quit your job! It will be the scariest but most liberating thing you’ve ever done, but a word of caution, you will now work 24/7. Be prepared!

What makes your company unique

The next step is to figure out what your unique selling point (USP) is; what sets you apart from all the other event coordinators. As JamJar, our USP is customer service, efficiency and pushing the boundaries. We are willing to go the extra mile for our customers and promise to push ourselves as we create concepts and experiences that are truly one of a kind for the customer.

Once you have your USP, start using your contacts. Your first job is likely to be someone you know. If you do a good job, the word will start to spread. E-mail people you know and ask them to recommend you. Send out your company profile to people and test their reaction to your information.

Be realistic and original. People can tell when you are trying too hard or being fake. Initially, you may need to take a few jobs that you do not make much money from but is worth value in terms of marketing, building your portfolio and experience for yourself. Keep note of this, however: there will become a point where you no longer need exposure, and exposure won’t pay your bills. Be aware of your business and your value and continue to reflect. Once you reach that point, own it and do not be ashamed.

Listening is key

Until you reach that point, continue to work, listen and learn from your jobs and experiences. Make sure the experience of working with you is memorable from when the person first takes your card to the end product. This is everything! Even when something goes wrong or you have a difficult customer, remember your response is key and will last forever.

People will tell 4 out of 10 people about a positive experience but 8 out of 10 for a negative experience.

Get to bookkeeping

Slowly you will start to increase the number of customers you have, do your best to keep them. As you start to grow, make sure you have a good financial system, this does not have to be fancy. Keep track of what you are receiving and what you are spending.

The event industry is one that is not heavily reliant on start up equipment – your brain and a piece of paper are all you need to be organised, efficient, and reliable, the main characteristics an organiser should have. Take advantage of this fact, it means your start up capital required is much less and you can pace the growth of your company.

Share with like-minds

Lastly, Collaborate. Collaboration is powerful if you are strategic. Don’t just collaborate because someone asks you to. Collaboration usually means you will foot the bill for whatever you are willing to contribute to the project, or provide your time for free. Be sure you are prepared to lose or not gain as much as you hoped. Moreover, make sure you do what you can and get the most as much as possible for your brand while working with your collaborators.

Good luck starting up and enjoy the journey!

Food / Lose Weight And Eat Healthy In 7 Days by M400(f): 6:45pm On May 18, 2016
HOW TO LOSE 8KG OR MORE WEIGHT IN 7 DAYS?!

If you are looking for the quickest way to cut down a few extra pounds that are stopping you from getting into your favorite outfit, you are in the right place. This weight loss plan is perfect if you have an important event, such as a party, a date or a wedding celebration in a couple of weeks.
Most health experts agree that a combination of a healthy, well-balanced diet and a regular workout routine is the fastest and safest way to get your desired weight. One of the staples of a healthy weight loss is never to skip meals, eat at irregular times or expose your body to starvation. The most common misconceptions about weight loss is that skipping a meal or two and eating only one healthy meal a day will help you cut down pounds. In reality, it’s quite the opposite – 3 hearty meals a day at regular intervals is the best approach of weight loss.

Another important thing worth mentioning is being realistic about your weight loss expectations. Setting a realistic weight loss target before starting a weight loss program will make it easier for you to achieve it. Also, never forget that you can only push your body to a certain limit with strenuous workout routines and a well balanced and healthy diet plan.

In relation to this, the General Motors diet plan is one of the most popular diet plans of many weight loss enthusiasts. In fact, this dietary regimen is the fastest way to lose weight naturally without taking any other health supplements or diet pills. The leading car manufacturer, General Motors, has created the renowned and successful General Motors Diet Plan or GM Diet Plan followed by many other companies as well as educational institutions. It’s great for people who are desk-bound, as well as students, because it improves the overall well being. The GM diet plan has proved beneficial for people of all age groups. Most of those who’ve tried it claim that you can lose up to 8 kilograms of weight within a week.

That’s why we sincerely recommend the GM diet plan for everyone who’s dealing with excess weight problems.

If you are choosing this dietary regimen, getting your mind ready is vital in order to achieve your weight loss goals because only if your mind is controlled and peaceful, you’ll be able to get your desired weight fast. This dietary regimen lasts one week and requires taking specific foods for each of the seven days. If you follow the GM diet plan properly, you’ll be able to lose anywhere between 5 and 8 kilograms of weight within a week.

Again, a quick reminder that the most important thing about this fast weight loss method is not to starve. Because, if you do, it’ll give you a counter effect and you’ll end up gaining pounds instead of losing them. This plan recommends the right amount of food that you can eat so that you always feel full.

Day One

This is the most important day in your GM diet plan program. According to the regimen, you are only allowed to eat fruit on day 1. You can choose any fruit you like and eat as much as you like. However, on your first day you should avoid bananas, but include watermelons and cantaloupe. Also, drink between 8 and 12 glasses of water. Be cautious not to eat any other food, not even raw or boiled vegetables. Ideally, you should only consume different kinds of assorted fruits throughout the day. Whenever you feel hungry, just eat more fruits and drink more water.

Day Two

While the first day is restricted to fruits, the second day is limited to vegetables. You are allowed to eat as many vegetables as you like, either raw or cooked, all day long. Also, avoid using any oil when cooking vegetables. Boiled vegetables are highly recommended. Potatoes are also allowed, but you should stick to boiled potatoes early in the morning so that the carbohydrates get burnt during the day. Other recommended vegetables include: cooked beans, raw and cooked carrot, broccoli, cucumber, boiled bottle and ridge gourd, lettuce, boiled cabbage and so on. The required water intake is between 8 and 12 glasses.
3) Day Three

On your third day, you can eat both fruits and vegetables all day long. The only restrictions are potatoes and bananas. One way to go through day 3 is to eat fruit in the morning, vegetables in the afternoon and again fruit in the evening. If you feel hungry at night, opt for either fruit or vegetables. Don’t forget to drink 8 to 12 glasses of water on day three as well.

Day Four

Day four is a banana and milk day. On this day, you should have at least 8 to 10 bananas during the day and you are allowed 3 glasses of milk. To ensure that you feel full all day long, distribute the bananas and milk evenly throughout the day. Consuming a banana and a glass of milk in the morning followed by a couple of bananas at noon will be a great way to start day 4. You should follow by taking a glass of milk and two bananas for lunch. You can also take 2-3 bananas in the evening and then a couple of bananas and a glass of milk at night.

Day Five

The fifth day of the GM dietary plan is a feast day. On this day, you can have a cup of rice for lunch and 6-7 tomatoes throughout the day. On day 5, it’s recommended to increase your water intake to 12-15 glasses a day as there is a risk of your body producing a lot of uric acid.

Day Six

Day 6 is another feats day of this dietary regimen. On the sixth day, you can have a cup of rice for lunch in the afternoon and stick to a vegetable diet for the rest of the day. Drinking a minimum of 8 to 12 glasses of water on day six is important as well. As this is the pre-last day of your dietary regimen, you should already feel lighter than before. Your digestive system function will have significantly improved as well.

Day Seven

On your last day of the GM dietary plan, you are allowed to have a cup of rice and any veggies and fruit of your choice. By day 7 you will have reduced your weight significantly.

The GM dietary regimen will bring on many other health benefits including better skin and hair quality, improved digestion, etc. However, the best gain is that you will be able to reduce your body weight by about 4 to 5 kilos or even more.

This means you don’t have to starve your body to get the weight you want. Try the healthiest and fastest weight loss regimen in the form of the simple GM diet plan and enjoy your desired weight loss results in a week.
