We all understand the ripple effect on the citizens but it is different if one or one's family is kidnapped by the bandits. It is common sense

Peter Obi didn't mention anybody's name.

He is making a general statement regarding the outcome of the Edo state election targeting those who, in one way or another, engaged in act capable of undermining our democracy.

So, if you are not involved in any way, kindly ignore. Like they say, a clear conscience fears no accusation.

Because some people are venting their anger and frustrations on him over this statement.

Peter Obi is not responsible for your frustrations. He is not responsible for the hunger, starvation, high inflation rate, high pump price of gasoline, high transportation cost, etc. that have ensured that you are angry and frustrated.

Accusation without evidence! He didn't mention names but was referring to the in charge of the election grin grin grin

And you think APC won the Edo state governorship election by merit?

No now! Why would APC win by merit when it was clear to us all that Obaseki turned all his allies to enemies: from Oba to deputy to Wike to serving senators and other bigwigs with their followers? All these people didn't just leave PDP but moved to APC.
APC/Tinubu would have lost 2023 presidential election if PDP didn't disintegrate into PDP, LP, NNPP and G5. Time for you to wake up

That's because people like him don't know that governments exist to serve and assist the citizens, to alleviate the suffering and burden of the citizens

This government want to render the poor masses useless for political gains... keep them poor and give them tokens they won't be able to resist when election comes... Everyone is frustrated at the moment and it won't take for things to explode

This is what I just told nairaland1. This is a third world country for God's sake, a poor country! What is the national average income for the citizens? Can't be more than 40k per month! If every item and service is too high, it means citizens won't be able to afford it! Fuel, electricity, house rents, water, etc.
Last last, the companies providing such services will eventually be running into trouble once people/customers stop or reducing patronising them. Low patronage means incurring loses

We need 10 billion dollars in annual investments to get to 24 hour power supply.

Our budget is 18 billion dollars.

If we follow your way, we may get good power supply, but at the expense of a hefty debt which would eat our country alive...and all in it.

Oga, if you won't let the poor set your prices as a business person, then don't force it on the power supply sector.

Either we pay full market price, or we stop grumbling and enjoy the rubbish we acutally pay for.

Stop wailing here, no one needs your chochocho. You should have advised Tinubu before he paid 150 billion naira to acquire a refurbished jet

Nigerian government pays a lot of subsidies without us knowing. Tinubu should have totally removed the electricity subsidy and reduced PMS subsidy by 50% instead of doing the reverse.

All in all, we should have removed the subsidy on power, make everyone pay for power at market price, and there would be massive improvement in power supply.

We get bad power because we don't pay for power in full. Even now

nedu666:

For you, the solution to Everything is increase price. So if after you increase the price of Everything and majority are too poor to afford it, what happens?

They don't have sense. People like him are not smart enough to think that far and deep.
I like your response, well done.
You are delusional if you think paying 1k for unit is the only way to have stable electricity.
And secondly, what is the benefit of the stable power supply that you have but still can't use? You think 4units for 1k na beans?

People Don't vote. What they normally do is selection. No more election in Nigeria. I have stopped voting for about 20 years now dat was when I realized that Nigeria is a useless corntree. With useless leaders that Care more about what will enter into their Bank account.

Because you stopped voting, you assumed that everyone else has stopped voting too!
You stopped voting for about 20 years now, like 2003 under Obj. And you still think the voting efforts and process are still the same as 2023 years ago? Your ignorance stink to heaven.
As far as I know with INEC conducted elections, people's votes are now counting to some agreeable extent. Even in USA, there is issues and complaints.
People are now monitoring and following their votes from the polling unit level to the collation centres. Unless people allowed the perpetrators to do their thing at the polling unit before counting and recording of the votes. Get yourself educated and stop acting wise for the time being because clearly, you've been left behind.
I'm not talking about SIEC conducted elections

I am actually very angry reading this. I drove a distance to cast my vote on Saturday 20th September 2024. I didn't see any single soul in my polling unit (see attached Picture of Ogbedere polling units 001-002)!

No INEC officials, materials, posters or any single individual was seen anywhere around the polling unit. I drove home very disappointed at Imo state and Nigeria.

Sadly, we will continue like this for a very long time. It is awful indeed!

No any single individual too was seen? You're a terrible liar! Some voters in that particular unit would be living in that same unit as their residential area, you didn't see those ones too with their voters cards?

It is always the ruling party in the state. That's why people are asking INEC to be conducting LG elections.
Opposition parties in Osun state, most especially APC should forget about February next year LG election as the ruling party (PDP) will sweep everything too by hook or by crook

People are educated and they can differentiate between their right hands and left hands. This is governorship election, not presidential election. And, from councillorship to governorship, elections are local. They are tired of PDP and went for the alternative. It is only in South East you see people voting for one political party every four years even when they don't perform until recently that they got sense

If votes don't change at INEC collation centres! You as a person can tell who comes first and second. The IREV contains results from all the pulling units , why does the results at irev different from the one announced by inec?
If inec wants free and fair election let the irev be used in collation of results! They will not because there means of cashing out will be closed. Imaging buy irev #300 million only to make it useless.

Results don't change. Mind telling us if that of your polling unit has ever changed?

You're saying this because you are new to politics. The word federal might is not a joke! Inec, police & other military agents working for the election are under the control of FG. For your mind you think they used BVAS for most of these results? Go to court, who controls the court FG. Nigeria will now appreciate Buhari because he didn't interfere with state's election. All man to himself. GEJ is from another planet.

You are talking like we are still in 2003 or 2007 with the sham election organised by Obj. Every polling unit now ensures that their votes are counted and signed before being moved to the collation centres. And the last time I checked, these votes don't change at the INEC collation centres from what it is recorded at the polling units.

GEJ did his best in terms of rigging in the SS and SE, it wasn't just enough. Though, many of you were insinuating that he shouldn't have handed power over at the time. Who knows, may be he would have been Mr Late by now

Obaseki destroyed PDP in his state, he turned allies to enemies and weighty people left party massively for him. Guess where they went? APC!! So, what did you expect?
APC was in power during 2023 general election, how many states did the party win? Even NNPP won through mass thumb printing of ballot papers.
