Subject: With God You Have Everything – Wednesday January 19, 2011 – Pastor Chris

With God You Have Everything

After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward! (Genesis 15:1).

If you have God, you have all you need; by that I mean everything you’d ever need, for He’s your satisfaction! In Genesis 15:1, He said to Abraham, who then was called Abram, “I’m your shield and your exceeding great reward”; that means “I’m all you need; with me, you have everything!” This is the reason you must not allow any distraction take your mind away from Him. All that you are, and all that you have is in Him! All your dreams and aspirations are in Him; He is your reason for being. When this becomes your attitude in life, then you’ve really begun your walk with God.

There’s something God desires to do in each one of us, and that’s to turn our attention away from everything else to Himself. He’s not doing this because He seeks our attention so much, or that He’s so hungry for our praise and worship. He’s not asking for you or what you have just because it makes Him feel more like God. Remember, ever before there was anything on the face of the earth; ever before He created Adam, He was already God, and still is. He is the great I AM; the all-sufficient one – the God who is more than enough. Thus, He can always satisfy Himself with whatever He wants. He doesn’t need anything to make Him more complete. He is “completeness.”

However, He seeks to turn our attention to Him because He knows if He can get our attention, then He can guide us to live the life He has made available for us. He knows better than we could ever know. He knows best what you’re required to do with your life, and what your life should be like.

This should make you have absolutely nothing to worry over; rather, you ought to live confidently, everyday, knowing that God is steering the ship of your life and has everything it takes to bring you into, and help you fulfil your destiny in Him.

Prayer
Dear heavenly Father, you’re my shield and my exceeding great reward! Thank you for ordering my steps and directing the affairs of my life to synchronize with your perfect will and destiny for me. I love you so much, and give all my attention to your Word, knowing that in you, I have everything I could ever desire in life, in Jesus’ Name. Amen

Psalm 16:5-11
The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot. The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage. I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons. I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.
10For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

God Is Love

He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love (1 John 4:cool.

God is love! His nature, disposition and entire character is love. This is one revelation of God that every Christian needs to be acquainted with. Many don’t know just how much God loves them. The Spirit of God, through the Apostle Paul prayed that God will grant the Church the power to grasp how wide, long, high and deep the love of God is, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge (Ephesians 3:17-19 NIV). God’s love is so intense and infinite that it takes divine revelation to comprehend its immensity.

Call it inexplicable love and you won’t be wrong, for God’s love is beyond human reasoning. Just how could anyone explain the fact that while we were yet sinners and enemies of God, Christ died for us? (Romans 5:cool. Nothing touches me more than God’s love for us! That’s my motivation, that’s why I do the things I do. I want the whole world to know about God’s unfailing and unreserved love for them.

Many run away from God, simply because they don’t know who He is. God is not judgment; He is love. God is not going to judge you on account of your sins anymore, because He already judged Jesus on your behalf. The punishment for your sin has already been laid on Jesus. I would to God that every sinner will hear and understand just how much God loves them! God detests sin, but He loves the sinner.

This is the message of the Gospel. The sinner needs to know that God isn’t mad at him; neither does he have to pay for his sins, because Jesus already paid.

If perhaps, you’ve been feeling condemned on account of your sins, I want you to know that God loves you, and He’s not counting your sins against you. He says “though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool” (Isaiah 1:18). You can call out to Him right now. Just say, “O, Lord God, I believe you sent Jesus to die for my sins, and that you raised Him from the dead for my justification. Therefore, I declare that He’s Lord of my life and I’m now a brand new person; completely free from sin!

Prayer
Dear Father, I pray that the revelation of your love will increase in my life and in the lives of your children all around the world. I declare that by the help of your Spirit, we will walk, today and always, in the increased consciousness of your great love for us, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. We love him, because he first loved us.

God Never Fails! – Monday January 17, 2011 – Pastor Chris

God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? (Numbers 23:19).

What comfort, confidence, and blessed assurance to know that you can trust God with your life! You can depend on Him to take care of you and guide you into your destiny; the destiny of His working! He’s trustworthy, faithful and reliable! He never fails. When you trust in the Lord you shall not be confounded (1 Peter 2:6). That means you’ll never be disgraced or “put to the blush,” for trusting God.

The Scripture is replete with testimonies of those who, in defiance of life-threatening circumstances, demonstrated absolute trust and confidence in God and experienced a miracle. The three Hebrew boys, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, for one, at the risk of their lives, defied King Nebuchadnezzar’s decree for them to bow to an image of gold. They were therefore thrown into the fiery furnace, but their faith and trust in the God who never fails prevailed, and they got a miracle.

No wonder the Psalmist declared “In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what can man do unto me” (Psalm 56:11). God never fails or disappoints. The Bible describes Him as the friend that sticks closer than a brother (Proverbs 18:24). He’s the very present help in times of need (Psalm 46:1). All you need do is call on Him. He said “Call on me in the day of trouble. I will deliver you, and you will honour me” (Psalm 50:15). This is God’s invitation to you to trust Him, irrespective of the challenges you might be facing right now, and He’ll not fail you. He wants you to put your trust in Him alone, and rest your faith on His Word. Let His eternal Word be your hope and the anchor for your soul.

Remember, God and His Word are one: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1). Thus, to say God never fails means His Word never fails. The Bible assures us that though heaven and earth shall pass away, God’s Word remains steadfast forever. His Word always comes forth with enough power to effect a change in you. So, demonstrate your trust in Him today, and take Him by His Word. Act on His Word today, for He never fails. He’s the all-powerful and eternal God of glory, the maker and ruler of heaven and earth.

Prayer
Dear Father, who never fails, and who abides with me forever, leading me daily in victory and triumphal excursions of life, I worship and adore you today! I’ll forever put my trust in you for you’re my very present help in times of need. I love and appreciate you dearly, knowing that my help comes from you, the only true and wise God, in whom I live and rejoice forever, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Subject: God Relates With You Personally – Sunday January 16, 2011 – Pastor Chris

God Relates With You Personally

Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows (Luke 12:6-7).

Some people think God relates with them according to numbers. Some believe for instance, that if they had more people praying for them, God would respond to them faster. However, such people are ignorant of the Word and deficient in their understanding of the character of God. He doesn’t relate with you because you’re many; He relates with you according to your faith. For example, the fact that there’re several of you in the same predicament doesn’t mean God is obligated to do something about it. He’ll respond to the one who reaches out to Him in faith.

The Bible lets us know that, once upon a time, everyone in the world was destroyed by flood, with the exception of Noah and his family. It was Noah’s faith that singled him out for such a miracle, not because he had a large family: “By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith” (Hebrews 11:7). Your faith is the basis of pleasing Him; it’s got nothing to do with numbers.

Life is personal, and so is your salvation and your relationship with God. Therefore, don’t use the experiences of others to determine the flow of your life. It matters what you listen to and allow to influence your mentality. That there’re many people in the world today who’re suffering doesn’t mean that should be your experience. You're peculiar; you’re not among the masses. That something is affecting others doesn’t mean it should affect you.

Realize that God didn’t send Jesus to die for the world because we were many. If you were the only one on earth, Jesus would still have come to die for you. God loves you that much – as a person. He knows your name and relates with you as a unique individual. This is one exciting thing about our relationship with Him; He relates with each and every one of us personally! He can do for you what he’s never done for anyone else, just because you required it and asked Him in faith.

Remember, you’re the only one that God has ever had and will ever have. You're special to Him; that’s why He relates with you personally.

Confession
Dear God, your Word has brought me wisdom and understanding, and I walk in the light of your truth that’s been implanted in my spirit today! I appreciate the awesome fellowship I have with you, and the personal affection you have towards me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen!

Subject: God Knows How To Take Care Of You! – Saturday January 15, 2011 – Pastor Anita

God Knows How To Take Care Of You!

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28).

Matthew 7:11 says “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him.” This scripture reveals something profound about the character, willingness and ability of our heavenly Father to take care of us. As a Christian, it doesn’t matter in whatever situation you may find yourself; you’re still a victor. There’s nothing you’re facing that’s beyond what God can handle; just trust His wisdom and ability to put you over in life.

There’re Christians who, when they experience challenges, wonder, “Why are all these things happening to me?” To talk like that is to undermine the power of the Kingdom to which you’ve been born. In that Kingdom, God has ordained everything to work together for your good. Nothing is to your disadvantage. This is the reason you ought to be of good cheer always, knowing that God has brought you into a place of rest, victory and success.

It may be that the predicament you’re in right now is the result of the wrong choices you made and you think God has given up on you. No, He hasn’t. He said, “…I will never leave thee nor forsake thee” (Hebrews 13:5); He is with you always, until the end of the age. Besides, He is able to turn anything you do, even your mistakes into success! It’s His desire to help you win all the time. Just let God’s Word take hold of the spirit, and recognize that everything in your life is working together for your good.

God knows you’re His, and He knows how to take care of His own. Even if everything seems to be getting worse, be assured that He’s only going to give you a bigger testimony. Keep trusting, keep believing, keep praying and keep talking your faith! Before long, others will hear your songs of joy and glorify God for your testimony.

Prayer
Dear heavenly Father, I trust you with my life! I thank you for bringing the reality of your Word to my spirit today. You're my Shepherd, Caretaker and Bread-provider! No matter what the circumstances may be, I refuse to be disconcerted, knowing that everything is working together for my good. Thank you for the ever-winning life you’ve given me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Cleansed From All Unrighteousness

To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them… (2 Corinthians 5:19).

Sometimes, we may consciously or unconsciously do or say the wrong things, but God has made provision for our cleansing: “If we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another and the blood of Jesus Christ his son cleanseth us from all sin” (1 John 1:7). Notice that He didn’t give any conditions for the cleansing; so you never have to worry about unknown sins in your life. Then in the ninth verse of 1 John 1, He says “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Thus, after you’re born again, if you do something wrong, and confess it to the Father, He’s dependable and can be trusted to forgive you and cleanse you, not only from that sin, but from all unrighteousness.

How wonderful to know that we serve a God whose nature it is to forgive. He’s not watching from heaven to strike you or punish you anytime you do something wrong, no! Rather, He watches over you to keep you from falling and present you holy, unblameable and irreproveable in His sight (Colossians 1:22). He’s never mad at you! He took the responsibility for all your sins – both past, present and future.

Our opening verse says God was in Christ, reconciling the world – the world of sinners – unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them. This means that He’s not holding your sins against you. You say, “Even after all the wrong things I’ve done?” Yes. Your sins were laid on Jesus; there’s therefore now no condemnation for you (Romans 8:1).

Refuse to allow a guilt-conscience or sin consciousness hinder you from serving the Lord as you should. If you ever do something wrong, quickly repent, and confess it to the Father. Remember, if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Prayer
Dear Father, I rejoice today, knowing that the sacrifice of Jesus for my sin was the ultimate price by which I now stand justified in your presence. Thank you for presenting me holy and unblameable before you in love, having washed away my sins and cleansed me from all unrighteousness, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

3He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
6All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
7He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
8He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
9And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
10Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.
11He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
12Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

Isaiah 55:10-11 further enlightens us on the power and infallibility of God’s Word: “For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth,…So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” God’s Word never returns to Him void. His Word produces what it talks about. That means when God speaks it’s a done deal: and when we say “amen,” that is, “so be it,” to what He has said, it becomes established unto us: “For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us” (2 Corinthians 1:20).

Hebrews 6:17 confirms the immutability of God’s Word; it says, “When God wanted to guarantee his promises, he gave his word, a rock-solid guarantee…” (MSG). No wonder He says “…I am the Lord, I change not…” (Malachi 3:6). Thus, knowing this, that God’s Word is immutable, not void of power, and is forever settled in heaven, what you then need is to personalize whatever He says and apply it to specific areas of your life. So when you hear or study God’s Word, especially the Epistles, personalize it, for that’s God talking to you. And because that Word is already settled in heaven, it will surely be fulfilled in your life.

Maybe you woke up on a certain day and suddenly discovered a growth in your body; simply act on the Word and command the growth to leave. From then on, even if you can still see the growth, refuse to consider it! Keep testifying that the growth is defeated and that you already have your miracle. Find out today, what God has said about you and speak the same thing in faith, for all His promises in Christ are yes and amen to the glory of His Name.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, I thank you for the power of your Word in my life today. Your Word is growing mightily in me and prevailing, producing in me and for me a harvest of what it says! My heart and mind are open to receive today, that personal Word of power that puts me over and causes me to excel in all that I do, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Christianity EtcRe: Is Confrontation A Healthy Part Of A Relationship? by mabell: 9:36am On Jan 13, 2011
Yes it is. Like you said, the fear of not wanting to hurt each other makes them keep things in their hearts which builds and become blocks that become hard to pull down
If there is a matter, discuss with your partner, sort it out once and for all no matter the consequences
A problem said is a problem solved
If you don't tackle it, you will go on hurting which might even end the relationship without the other party knowing why
On the other hand, the second party might not even know he is hurting you
Remember, two cannot work together except they agree

Perfect Love! – Wednesday January 12, 2011 – Pastor Anita

There is no fear in love; but perfect love caseth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love (1 John 4:18).

God’s love for you is perfect love, which means it can’t be improved upon, for you don’t improve on perfect. He’s not going to love you more tomorrow or when you get to heaven than He does today. His love for you is absolutely beyond human comprehension! Little wonder the Spirit of God, through the Apostle Paul prayed that we may comprehend the magnitude, and the infinitely boundless nature, of God’s love (Ephesians 3:18-19).

Understanding the love of God and walking in it will completely eliminate fear from your life. When people say, “I’m afraid of this or that,” it’s proof that they’re yet to comprehend what it means to walk in God’s love, for perfect love – God’s love – casts out fear. The reason people lie, steal, kill and do many of the wrong things they do is fear. They’re either afraid of being rejected by others, afraid of the future or afraid of life itself. But when you’re born again, God gives you the spirit of love, not that of fear (2 Timothy 1:7).

If you ever feel afraid of anything, you don’t need to pray to God to deliver you from fear; just meditate on the love of God for you, and let that love overwhelm you. There’re people who are afraid of just about everything – they’re even afraid of God Himself. That’s because they really don’t know who God is. Not only is He a loving heavenly Father, He is love personified. When you relate with Him with the understanding of how much He loves you, you’ll never be afraid of Him. So clearly, God demonstrated His great and boundless love for us while we were yet sinners: “if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life” (Romans 5:10).

God wants you to know that He loves you and accepts you today, just the way you are! Therefore, you don’t have to be afraid or run from Him despite the wrong things you may have done. He’s the Monarch of the universe, the Creator of the whole world, and the God of all flesh; if He loves and affectionately cares for you as He does, then you don’t have any reason to be afraid of anything or anyone! The Apostle Paul cried out in Romans 8:31-37: “What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?, Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? …Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.”

Prayer
Dear Lord and Father, I declare that I’m deeply rooted and securely founded on your perfect love; thus, I walk bold today, knowing that the greater one dwells in me, and loves me with an everlasting love! I rejoice exceedingly in your love today, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

untainted:
it is unfortunate that most pastors have persuaded their congregation into believing they can buy salvation by one form of donation or the other.
pastors don't preach salvation anymore but tell you God needs this money or that to bless you with prosperity and other desirables.
It is regrettable when people come to defend such blatant falsehood whether as "men of God" or as gullible (even thouhg they don't know it) followers.
This is so not true. You really talk out of ignorance(i want to believe cos that can be corrected). Pastors still very much preach salvation, soul winning, evangelism, relationship, family, sharing, love and not just giving.
The church where i worship, the pastor give it hard on salvation, he lets you know that without Jesus, your money, wealth or fame will take you no where. Mind you, a pastor will never tell you God needs your money, i laugh! grin, that is so not possible. God is big, he is huge, he created the whole world and everything in it including you and i or Mr how can you say He needs money, to do what precisely, shop in mega plaza. I mean!!!!
Christianity EtcShould We Give God "the Best" Or "our Best" by mabell(op): 6:47pm On Jan 11, 2011
13 You also say, 'Oh, what a weariness!' And you sneer at it," Says the LORD of hosts. "And you bring the stolen, the lame, and the sick; Thus you bring an offering! Should I accept this from your hand?" Says the LORD.
14 "But cursed be the deceiver Who has in his flock a male, And takes a vow, But sacrifices to the Lord what is blemished-For I am a great King," Says the LORD of hosts, "And My name is to be feared among the nations.
Malachi 1:13&14

God doesn’t just deserve “your best,” He deserves “the best.” In fact, He demands it, and He’ll accept nothing less. Anytime you give God the best of what you have, you activate a Biblical principle and you’re blessed for your action of faith and trust. This is the reason you must serve God with all your heart and worship Him with everything you have. No offering or sacrifice should be too great for you to give to Him, for you can never out-give God. So give Him the best all the time.

@Poster, i thot this thread died like since
See,your claims are not true, i wonder if you really worked in the church office or you just gathered different jists and pasted them together
Firstly, the rhapsody of realities only helps you to study your bible more and to study the whole bible within a period of time.
Secondly,if as you said the members do wrong deals to sow seeds, it is at their detriment. Pastor Chris preaches against it, he, in one of his messages, said if you see money on the road, huge sum of money, don't bring it to church but take it to the police.
Thirdly,im suprised you mentioned pastor adeboye, the same pastor adeboye people criticize on Nairaland about his messages on giving, humans are really insatiable
Lastly, as a member of Christ Embassy, we are taught to give to God the best, no matter how small. It is not what you give that matters but the heart that gives it
So mr poster, think before you sell lies

I have read the various posts over again, they all say almost the same thing and some pour out their ignorance as well
It is not the pastor that created the firstfruit, it was God ordained. He asked for it specifically without mincing words
Some posters ask how come it's being given in monetary value, the answer is simple, money is the major means of exchange but if you can bring crops no wahala.
Some ask what the pastor doe with the firstfruits, my answer is why not study about the prophets of old, what they did with the firstfruits give to them and how the levites carried on too, maybe that will give you a hint

I noticed that some posters have left insulting the pastors to insulting the brethren, why now!, i actually thought one of the purposes of this thread was to ave and shield the members f the church, why change your mouth now? huh sad
