Softhands, though your suggestion is good, I do think of it sometimes too, but remember Nairaland was originally made as forum not as a place for buying and selling so Seun may not necessarily be interested in setting up something of such.

What I think as solution however is to have say an old Nairalander who many nairalnders can vouch for serves as third-party between a buyer and a seller. So let's say Mr A wants to buy amazon gift card from Mr B, after agreeing on a price, they will get the third-party involve. Mr A sends money to third-party, third-party informs Mr B of Mr A's payment, Mr B then sends gift cards to third-party, third-party forwards the cards to Mr A and Mr B gets paid by third-party after Mr A receives the cards he or she paid for.

This way, we will be able to reduce fraud to its barest minimum.

I can volunteer to be the escrow service provider. Seriously speaking. I think we need to take the bull by the horn.

I don't know about nowadays, but all the times i got refund from Ecobank, they refunded it at the prevailing rate. If it's still like that, you might get even more than you paid. Lol. Happened to me more than once on Ecobank.
Keep in mind that it's been at least a year i used Ecobank to purchase tho.
If it was GTB, Access and i think Diamond Bank. Prepare for 199 lol.

GTB doesn't refund in 199 per USD. My mastercard is linked to PayPal and whenever I get a refund, gtb pays me at the black market exchange rate.

GTB just sent me the alert for the naira deduction made on my account for a PayPal transaction of 0.97 USD which I did yesterday. They sent me a debit of 316.80 naira, meaning that The charge as of yesterday was 328 naira/USD. That amount is even less than what they initially debited yesterday. It means that I am expecting a refund of some money back to my account

I just purchased items on aliexpress via GTB and I was charged around 331 naira. Seems PayPal is more expensive because they charged me over 340 on PayPal earlier today.

GTB has gone mad. Imagine them charging 341.5 per dollar for the purchase of 1 USD I made this morning to check what their current rate is

Please who knows GTB rate in USD as of today. I need to know if it's over the 330/USD mark

Yeah, I have also had dealing with him once but I just need to double check before I up the ante. The person who recommended him told me that legalwealth is the only person he can recommend to me because of the high number of Mediamatazes on this NL

I just had to flip back to previous pages to read and understand the scenario between tumababa and the scammer mediamataz. Frankly speaking, going by their conversation, and how mediamataz looked calm and convincing, anyone could have easily fallen victim. Having said that, if truly Gabman saw their interactions and failed to warm tumababa, then it's really bad of him. In fact, I think Gabman should have reported to the Admin when mediamataz confessed to him that he was a scammer. To see somebody sliding into a trap and kept quiet and allowed it is really a shame and disappointing. I feel pained because I know what it feels like. Tumababa, trust me, you will get over it as long as you don't allow the issue to eat you up. Just forget about the money and see the scenario as having made you wiser. Please let's try to be our brother's keeper. I did a transaction recently. I needed help and someone referred me to Legalwealth. Thank God I did transfer money to him and he delivered.
