I had already created the swap file. That's just the default value. You can adjust it to your desired value but for me, 1500 mb did the trick

I posted the warming. What I meant is that if you are using ramexpander, make sure you use the external SD card because of the harm that the swap action does to phone storage

Install ram manager pro and select more multi tasking option, reboot your phone. Then install ram expander and use the values as seen in the screenshot, then remember to thank me. My C8 is multitasking flawlessly... This is of course for rooted phones

I hope you know that that software uses part of your SD card or internal memory as the additional ram and as a result shortens the life span of your storage because of the swap action which involves constant writing, erasing and rewriting on your storage. So you are advised to use your SD card if you have to do it instead of your internal storage.

Software issue can make phone loose connection with a computer. But it can be corrected if u can get the real drivers or stock rom of the particular phone u have issue with. That is why I gave an example on what happen to me when I mistakenly flash the stock rom of tecno droid pad in tecno c8. Immediately I finished flashing the phone went dead completely. I connect it back to my computer d computer did not even see it again. The phone just become deaf and dump. But when i got the real stock rom of the phone and install the necessary software and drivers I flash the phone again and it was successful.
There sometin people do not understand abt on the issue of hardware problems and software problems. Examples of hardware issue in phone are bad charging port, burn motherboard, bad headpiece socket, bad sim port, etc. Software problems are corrupt stock rom, issue of bad multitasking, corrupt preloader bin, etc

Haha, bro thanks for the lecture. I have practiced as a computer technician for over 6 years and my knowledge of hardware surpasses this. But I am wondering how you would be able to flash a phone that doesn't connect to computer and doesn't boot up at all yet no evidence of any bad component because meter tests show normal flow of power on the board. Is it through spiritual means?

That is hardware problem bro not software issue atall. There is nothing like dead phone if u know what u are doing. Flashing of phones is totally software issue. If u have the stock rom of d particular phone u want to flash enable all d files after u load d scatter files and do ur flashing. Even if d phone is dead finally. For example I have flash techno Droid pad stock rom into techno c8 unknowingly. The phone went dead totally I have to look for d techno c8 stock rom and flash again and the phone came back to life. So bro for d phone board to went bad is not as a result of the flashing maybe d computer supply high current to the phone or the USB cable used is bad d cable may bridge togeda and pass bad current to d phone this can damage the board which is hardware issue.

Well it might be annoying but it's a fact. As I speak to you, I have a tecno R7 belonging to my nephew that was bricked while flashing. Now it's completely dead because it cannot register connection with computer. It was taken to Carlcare lagos from here in Port Harcourt but they said the only solution is to change the complete board.

I really don't want to think that you have an issue with clearly understanding my earlier comment, however, I believe that in your bid to hastily criticise me, you didn't take time to understand my first message before jumping to your criticism. I wish to make you understand that there was never a place where I said you will brick your phone if you tick preloader. I said you could. That is quote different from you will in English OK. One is probable while the other is certain. For reference purpose, I will post the message again........


Please I would advise all those who want to flash stock rom to make sure that they untick preloader before flashing. Once you load scatter file and all the options are ticked, untick preloader because it is not necessary to flash preloader. Moreover it is very dangerous if anything goes wrong. If an error occurs while flashing with preloader ticked, you could lose your phone forever because the preloader is what ensures connection with computer even when phone is off. Once anything goes wrong with that sector, it's bye bye forever to your phone.

I have already posted my procedure above. I didn't format before loading new rom. All I did was to load scatter file, I then unticked preloader. Then I clocked on download at the top of sp flash tool. Then I connected my already off phone and waited until the process complete. Make sure you use the download only option on the drop down menu on sp flash tool

it's the link that was posted here in previous pages. The uploader may have deleted previous uploaded file and uploaded a new file. Just check If your phone now has the following options on the pix I will upload. If it does, then you have latest rom. Notice the auto on pix one and your phone should have H and H+ on top network notification... Then in pix 2, notice the tiny padlock icon at the top right hand corner of every minimised app. That's the icon that prevent any app you want from being wiped whenever you click the cleaner button. If your rom has these, then you are on latest rom. If not, I suggest you get a stronger network and check for update again. Maybe your network is preventing communication with tecno server

not normal bro. Except if the rom you downloaded already contains the update.. Maybe the manufacturer has already added the update to the rom you downloaded

it's still the same procedure. Once you open Sp flash tool, click on scatter loading and navigate to your phone backup location of the mtk droid tool, click on the scatter file, and it will load all the files. Untick preloader, then click on download, power off your phone and connect via USB and wait for the process to complete. Note that the actual backup of your phone on mtk droid tool is not the files in the backup folder but the files in the files to flash folder. To understand this better, Google how to prepare mtk droid tool back up for sp flash tool..... Read the instructions from this site. You will also see a place where you were asked not to tick preloader or dsp when flashing

Well, I believe that's to your own understanding. I have been into the phone flashing business for years now and I rarely tamper with the preloader because I know how important it is. Without the preloader, your phone is completely blank. When flashing and you untick the preloader, it means that that sector won't be flashed and it would still retain the one originally installed by the phone manufacturer. This is helpful in cases where the wrong rom or files are flashed because in that case, your phone still retains ability to communicate with computer. Once that ability is lost, the phone is gone forever. You may have been flashing preloader, it's OK. But the day you will get into a hitch, you will remember this post. Secondly, if you doubt me, flash stock rom into your canon C8 without the preloader ticked and see if your phone won't boot up. Your phone will boot up because the preloader sector is not tampered with during installation of rom when preloader is unticked thereby leaving the factory installed preloader to still function

U have nothing to fear of, even if you brick it, u can always flash stock ROM.
Now follow my steps:
Use SuperSu.apk to unroot( settings> full unroot)
Whether u back up ROM through twrp or not, continue.
Back up your useful files to your SD card, remove it and your sim card
Swithch off your phone
Open your flash tool, upload the scatter file of the stock ROM( it will tick all)
Click download
Connect your phone through USB
After successful icon
Remove and switch on.

For rooted users that need update, unroot first with superuser.apk. flash Stock Rom ( tick all options in sp flash tool) to your phone.

Am surprised you failed to tell them to back up their files first before doing this because if they follow your procedure, it means they are loading rom from scratch and all files will be toasted. I will suggest that only recovery img be flashed and then try to install update and see.. But before you do.... BACK UP ALL YOUR DATA

I now understand y I failed to root. I find it hard to boot into recovery at first try. Whenever I finally got it into recovery, it will first show "no command", then I have to press again to get it into recovery .

once you flash the twrp recovery, and disconnect your phone from computer, just hold down the volume up key, then press down the power key too meaning that at this point, you will be pressing down both volume up and power key together. Hold down until you see the tecno logo then release. You will see the twrp icon in recovery. This will happen as long as you don't turn on your phone after flashing twrp

yes please. Once you make the mistake of turning on the phone without booting into recovery, you have to start the whole process again from scratch

I am surprised that you are still having problems after I have posted step by step procedures and the dos and don't on previous pages. NEVER TURN ON YOUR PHONE AFTER FLASHING THE RECOVERY ELSE THE FLASHED RECOVERY WILL BE REPLACED BY THE ONE FROM TECNO. YOU MUST BOOT INTO RECOVERY ONCE YOU FLASH THE RECOVERY BY PRESSING DOWN VOLUME UP BUTTON THEN POWER BUTTON. THEN SWIPE TO THE RIGHT ON TWRP TO MAKE IT YOUR RECOVERY, ELSE IT WILL BE REPLACED BY OLD RECOVERY ONCE YOU START YOUR PHONE. Your phone must be turned off while using sp flash tool to flash recovery

Anyway, I wanted a situation where I can activate 3g on either of both Sims without activating data because I mainly use WiFi but Etisalat network is very poor in my area on 2g but OK on 3g. The problem is if I activate data on it to bring 3g, my airtime will be consumed by background data whenever I lose WiFi network

Please anyone with any idea of how to switch 3g on both Sim on the Camon c8? The option is not there. Only Sim one has 3g on stock rom. Is there any software to do this?
