Today, Kenyans go to the polls to elect a new president and a family in Gatundu, Kiambu county dressed as the Kenyan flag as they came out to vote.

James Kimani says he always wears the suit made with the Kenyan flag on public holidays and patriotic days. He says that his vote is not for individuals but for peace throughout Kenya.

His wife even braided her hair with the colours of the flag.

A young Kogi indigene Johnson Musa was arraigned before a Lokoja Chief Magistrate Court II on Friday for allegedly taking photos of the Abuja residence of Kogi state governor, Yahaya Bello's, with a drone camera and posting it on social media.The 32-year old Musa posted the photos with the captioned

“This building is owned by an individual in Kogi where hunger is the people’s first name.”

The prosecuting counsel, Mohammed Abaji, argued before the court that Musa's decision to share the photos online, threatened and exposed the state governor and members of his family to danger.

Musa however pleaded not guilty to the offense. His bail application was also opposed as investigation are ongoing. It was also revealed that the penalty attached to the offense was 10 years imprisonment or option of a minimum of N25 million fine upon conviction.
The Chief Magistrate, Alhassan Husaini said by virtue of Section 36(5) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (As Amended), the presumption of innocence of the accused was constitutionally guaranteed. He then granted Musa bail in the sum of N500, 000 with two sureties in like sum and that the sureties must be resident within the jurisdiction of the court.
The case was adjourned to August 17th.

The Army Chief also visited the 159 battalions in Geidam, Yobe state as well as the military base located in Kanamma the Nigeria/Niger border where he asked the soldiers at the theatre of war to work towards ending the fight by clearing the remnant of the Boko Haram terrorists.

He charged them to be law abiding and respect rules of engagement as the military hierarchy will not take their welfare issues lightly.He also assured them that the military under his leadership will continue to rotate the soldiers in the theatre of operation instead of allowing others to over stay in the war front.

Today, Tuesday 18th July 2017, troops of 120 Task Force Battalion, 27 Task Force Brigade at about 10.25am intercepted 30 fleeing suspected escaping Boko Haram terrorists at Goniri, Gujba LGA, Yobe State.

The suspects comprise of 8 women and 22 children. On preliminary interrogation, the suspected claimed to have escaped from Boko Haram terrorists’ custody at Kafa and Abagajiri villages in Damboa LGA of Borno state.

Similarly, yesterday at about 2.30pm the troops also intercepted 7 women and children escaping from Boko Haram terrorists at Kamuya, Yobe State. They claimed that they escaped from Boko Haram terrorists’ hideout at Goropcha village, Damboa LGA of Borno State. Both sets of escapees are currently being screened and profiled by the Brigade.

Nigerian Singer, Mr Eazi, has disclosed that he has turned down numerous record deals since his business relationship started with Wizkid.

In a recent radio interview, the singer said has rejected the million dollar deals because he sees growth with StarBoy Worldwide.

He said;

“Between the first Ghana Music Awards where Wizkid announced me till now, I’ve gotten record deal offers going into millions of dollars,”

“I’ve not signed because I see that there’s growth [with Starboy Worldwide], so the evidences are clear.”

He added that no artiste was doing what Wizkid is achieving at the moment.

Mr Eazi said;

“What Wizkid is doing right now, there’s nobody in the game doing what he’s doing.

“If you go into the UK and put on the radio, the only two artistes you’ll most likely hear on radio are myself and Wizkid.

“If you put on the TV, you would see myself and Wizkid on it. And the next R2Bees project, you will see it there.

Yoruba actress/producer, Lola Margaret, has reportedly been arrested for credit card theft in the US.
According to sources, she is currently being interrogated by the police in Atlanta, Georgia. Lola was reportedly arrested after a huge sum of money was transferred into her account, and upon trying to collect the sum, the method used failed.

According to a close source to the actress, Lola has been in this kind of business for a while but only got caught 2-3 weeks ago. She was initially freed after she revealed the name of the person she works for but luck ran out on her when the police came back for her.
