Jamican one Pataki: So I reckon you are a black Jew.
What in specific do you wish to know 'romantically' about Yoruba men? Poster@Topic will need to come back in and answer your question, I think you have raised a good point |
Romance › Re: Curious About The True Nigerian Man by madlady(f): 4:50pm On Jan 24, 2010 |
Pataki: @ madlady (what a queer name),
I hold no offence. How far back in the day are you talking about? Of what input does it add, knowing about the Jews culture or the German culture, except I happen to be doing it for academic or a special ''vested interest''. As I earlier submitted, knowledge in this area is often at times, highlighted on the negatives than the positives.
You are yet to disclose your culture which I asked earlier. Prolly I may have a vested interest in your culture anyways. . . .lol We are going off@Topic. and you have stepped on my toes, the Jew thing . Only messing I have a thick skin (sometimes) and I am black. Tells us some more about Nigerian Yoruba Men, from your view point, @The Poster and I would really like to know a few major facts. |
Romance › Re: Curious About The True Nigerian Man by madlady(f): 4:17pm On Jan 24, 2010 |
Pataki: @ madlady, You are very right. But these days, if you do not have a vested interest in someone else's culture, why bother to learn it, even if it is intriguing? Permit me to ask, what nation or culture are you from?
While trying to understand a Yoruba man, or any man from any other tribe or nation, it will be totally wrong, to stereotype any gender based on their culture. As often the case, the ills of a culture stick to the brain faster than the good, which often times makes one to think more of the negatives than the positives to any human being. I think everyone should be noted for who they are not based on their culture. Pls do not be offended if I do not agree to the part about vested interest. I love to learn about other black cultures. I was taught less than nothing at school, black cultures seemed not to have been of much value back in the day. |

platinumnk: Marriage should between two people and it really shouldnt be limited to race. outside faith I dont agree. Though I would perfer to marry our own, if I bond great with someone else from elsewhere who are we to say no?
What I dont agree on, is people looking for a particular race to marry, eg, a black man looking specfically for a white woman, ignoring others which might have been his other half.
Who really knows who we are meant to be with? Only God o
These days - Open mind, open spirit 99% agree with you , wish I could say 100% but being a black Jew I know I will have to marry outside my faith. UK Blacks do have a hard time because no matter what we are in the minority. |

Pataki: The way this romance board is filled with Nigerian men . . . .this and that, seems we are demi-gods.
@ Poster, The key to a good relationship is communication, which should be effective and proper. A yoruba man loves a lady who is spontaneous and does not wait to be told what to do, while at the same time respects and values his man and his opinions. It's always wonderful to understand another nations culture, and not only for dating or marrying purposes |

I would appreciate any information you would be willing to share. Thank You and God Bless Do live in the UK, what nationality are you. Maybe it makes no difference but it may do. |

platinumnk: there is nothing sad about it. keep an open mind and spirit and u wont have to complain about Nigerian men. To be honest I never complained, I was ,the one I dated was great. But it's a problem both black Men and Women of all Nations face in the UK. Should we marry outside our race or creed/ faith? |

lovemoi2: u just need to broaden yah horizon must it just be a guy from Nigeria
if u focus on just one particular race u will miss out and always feel left out, especially when u are in a country where yah race is basically the minority Sadly this really could be the truth for us black people. |
