PropertiesRe: What Would Be The Cost Of Building A 4-bedroom Duplex Now In Abuja by madmanmega(m): 11:13am On Jan 15, 2017
Like someone earlier said, every project is unique and consequently the cost will reflect that. That being said, there is a method professionals use to get a "rough" estimate of projects cost.

It goes like this. You get the total floor area of your project and multiply by N55,000
So if your ground floor plan is 180 square meters and your first floor plan is 195 square meters

You add the two which gives 375 square meters and multiply by N55,000 which gives a total sum of N20,625,000

This sum is for your structure alone and the N55,000 rate is middle of the road in terms of quality and finishes. A very smart contractor can squeeze a N45,000/ square meter rate. And I know of someone who did his project at a cost of N33,000 per square meter. As in after the project was finished we measured the total floor area and divided by the total cost. But he is very experienced, a tough negotiator and very hands on, he also designed the project and was able to know where to cut corners without compromising the structural soundness and aesthetics of the project.
So N55,000 is okay and if it ends up being too much, then the fallout is you save some money.

That being said, there is a reason Quantity Surveyors spend 4 years in Uni to learn this stuff, so find one and tell him to make you a Clients Bill and pay the man. His work will be much more accurate and detailed with break down of each stage. If you are thinking of spending money to build a duplex then you def can afford a QS.

Cheers.
PS I am an architect.

He should not just remove all the former guys. Deziani et al. They have to remain and sort out and undo all the damage before they are let go. A new appointee will not necessarily be able to navigate the changes they might have made. So they should remain for a while under strict supervision.

Most likely someone was given a contract to purchase an official vehicle and they bought the cheapest thing they could find.
The spanner that was used to couple this car was probably not made in Nigeria. Assembled in Nigeria is the more correct term for these cars.
These cars were not designed or engineered in Nigeria.

I bought a rocker for my son. It came in pieces and I used my screw driver to "assemble" the "provided" pieces. Nigeria has no claim on my finished product, It still says made in china. I can happily paste a sticker that says assembled in Nigeria and that will be correct.

I am reading "She is hard working" a lot here.
Hard working people don't need to steal someone else's intellectual property. They work hard and create their own.
May be call her a "Hustler" that will be more apt.

Always stick to debit cards. With debit cards you can ask your bank to initiate a charge back and even thought it might take some time, like 3 months. You will get your money back. Bought a DSLR camera on amazon for some 2k plus dollars and the seller shipped empty water bottles. We filed to amazon and they said since we shipped our item to a freight forwarder (MyUs) there was nothing they could do since that was against their TOS. We went to zenith bank, collected charge back form filled it and forgot about it and some 3 months letter received alert for full refund.

PropertiesRe: Difference Between POP And Suspended Building Ceilings by madmanmega(m):
ChikezieU: Dont juxterpose suspended ceiling with suspended floor to be the same as they are not the same
I mentioned the suspended floor because I find the nomenclature and their relational dependence interesting.
PropertiesRe: Difference Between POP And Suspended Building Ceilings by madmanmega(m): 7:05pm On Dec 29, 2013
POP is a form of "Suspended Ceiling"
Suspended ceilings are the ceilings above your head right now that is not a concrete deck. "Decking"
So asbestos ceiling, ceiling board ceiling, pop ceiling, gypsum board ceilings e.t.c are all suspended ceilings.

The term is derived from the construction of the ceilings in that they are suspended by attaching them to the roof members or the concrete deck above them. They don't have supports on the ground. Kapish!?

But wait...! the technical term for the concrete deck which suspended ceilings are attached to is a "Suspended Floor" this is to differentiate it from the Ground Floor which is supported by the ground and not suspended on columns and beams.

PhonesRe: How Much Are You Willing To Pay For Unlimited Plan! by madmanmega(m): 5:11pm On Oct 19, 2011
i can pay up to 50k too.
As for all d oda arguments about international cost relative to our own.MOBILE internet is cheaper in nigeria than in America because 5gb of data a month on AT&T is about 80 dollars.google it now and see.that comes to about 12k while glo charges 7k for 5gb.where bandwidth is cheap in america is dsl.and we dont have dsl here.for example comcast charges about 80 dollars for 250gb monthly and then a dollar for every gb over ur limit. And one more thing.almost all the providers of bandwidth in america have caps.no one gives unlimited plans anymore bacause data usage globally is rising and the infastructure is struggling to keep up with demand.one more thing america is like d 12th country with highest bandwidth.no 1 is south korea.

TV/MoviesRe: Nigeria Bashed (Or Exposed?) Again On American TV - CSI On CBS by madmanmega(m): 9:54pm On Nov 05, 2010
This is a trend that started about 5 years ago. Its nothing against Nigeria or Nigerians per se but the result of our new found popularity in the world stage. Because the said popularity happens to be for scamming is just a by the way thing. its even a pseudo compliment Nigeria being the current most recognizable african country. that being said, i do hate it when the lazy writer cant bother to properly research Nigerian names.

if you really want to see Nigeria being used on tv then watch rubicon. where nigeria is a central plot of the series. or this episode of boondocks I watched today about ruckus trying to explain his absence by saying he caught the nigerian pox virus. then he goes ahead to say those damn nigerians with their scams and underwear bombs now this pox.lfmao.

anyway
