Abusule007: Rohr invites Mikel, Onazi, Moses, 25 others for Poland, Serbia friendlies
Super Eagles’ Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr has listed captain Mikel John Obi, midfielder Ogenyi Onazi and playmaker Victor Moses in his 28 –man squad to battle Poland’s fellow Eagles and Serbia in pre-FIFA World Cup friendly matches this month.
Home –based goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa, who stood between the pipes for the very crucial last four World Cup qualifying games (home-and-away to Cameroon, home to Zambia and away to Algeria), leads the goalkeeping section and will be joined by new boy Francis Uzoho and Daniel Akpeyi.
Former junior international Kenneth Omeruo is back among the defenders, as Joel Obi among the midfielders, while Eagles’ B stalwarts, defender Stephen Eze and forward Gabriel Okechukwu, are also handed opportunities.
Russia –based Brian Idowu, who scored against Argentina on his debut in a friendly in Krasnodar in November last year, and Al Ahly of Egypt’s Junior Ajayi, who earned an Olympic bronze in Brazil in 2016, are also called.
Three –time African champions Nigeria will trade tackles with the Bialo-Czerwoni (White and Red) or Eagles, as the Senior National Team of Poland is known, at the 43,000 –capacity Stadium Wroclaw on Friday, 23rd March 2018.
Four days later, the Eagles will take to the pitch against the Senior National Team of Serbia at The Hive, London - home ground of Barnet FC and London Bees.

Rohr has brought us out of Egypt and the promised land is in sight, yet we still complain. Uzoho is most likely going to be our first choice. If you can't handle it there are 31 other teams you can support. chei !! |

Icon4s: Yes we have seen all those. Which formed the yardstick of our criticisms of those goalkeepers.
A lot of us only formed our decisions based on Uzoho's 45mins against Argentina. So with these videos we are getting to know more of him. atleast he has not conceded more than 2 goals in match like the other goalies who have conceded four goals |

Icon4s: Someone like Moses Eneji, I never really saw him at the WAFU tourney because the only part of the tournament I watched was from that moment in the final when Ghana scored their first goal. No Nigerian station showed the competition except the final.
The first time I really saw him was in that CHAN final against Morocco. At my first glance of him, the commentator mentioned he was 18years old. And I was like "for real"?. But after a closer look at his face I saw that boyness on his face. You know some kids just keep beards just to look like their elder brother's mates. hahaha |

Mujtahida: What was Ezenwa's level of exposure before the Cameroun double header? His exposure was very low YET today now it's the exposure that he got during the WCQ that is now being used to argue in his favor, forgetting that if we had not been forced by Akpeyi's injury Ezenwa would perhaps have never had the chance. My point is Icon4s argues against giving rooky gks a chance and then when they are given a chance he uses that experience and test the gk got from that chance to argue against giving another rooky the same chance. That's the point ChrisKels made when he talked about double standards.
I know that the gk is sensitive. It's not for rookies. But we are in a crisis. Rookies(Uzoho, Ezenwa) and Rusties (Aiyenugba, Ejide) and Shakies (Akpeyi) are what we got.
We are looking for a gk who's been exposed and tested at the club level but Akpeyi fits that bill yet he simply has failed to rise up to the occasion for us. We do not have gk exposed at club level. Has Ezenwa' best been seen? Has his worse been seen? NO! Like tbaba1234 said he was ably shielded by the defence in the matches he played. In other words Ezenwa and Uzoho at the same level.
I repeat WE ARE IN A CRISIS. It's time to take a risk. true talk |

Mujtahida: The problem I have with this line of reasoning is that if we go by it Uzoho will never be tested or exposed and then anytime his name comes up we'd still ask 'Now, which test or exposure does Uzoho have? And on and on like that. Catch 22 situation
We are in a crisis. It's time to do the unusual. that is it if we don't play him how will he get the experienced? Ezenwa we know what he is capable of already same for Akpeyi Uzoho should play those friendlies so that we can know what he is capable of Shikena |

Kog45: O pari master, pls can you pinpoint any solid performance from Austin Ejide in eagles colours.
Did you know Akpeyi always remind me of Ejide cos they almost shared the same attributes, shaking in goalposts especially in eagles jersey.
Hope you remember he is an injury prone keeper mostly with muscle tear and difficult for him to have three matches in a row though he had four at 2008 afcon
Did you know his injuries contributed to his contract termination in his club and clubless for some years but now in division two.
But the big question is Ejide that solid that we can close our eyes on other keepers cos in Isreali league Aiyenugba is far rated than him.
I think better for Rohr to take inactive fit Enyeama over just two months active Ejide.
Uzoho takes my vote in upcoming friendlies. if austin ejide is invited i will start suspecting foul play within the NFF |
