TheLequte: The first half wasn’t good. United players lacked conviction and Soton were the better team going forward. Had they scored their PK the story would be different.
afrodoc2: Whenever you watch our old highlights, you notice how much he was involved in so many of our goals, even if he did not score or assist.
You will be watching RVN highlights, and it will start looking like Giggs highlights. You switch to Andy Cole or OGS highlights and part of it will be looking like Giggs highlights.
melodyogonna: I love watching these vids. Look at those wings, Ronaldo and Giggs, we used to be so good man, now we have wingers that can't cross. Look at how entertaining most of those goals are, none of these Guardiola bore-fest
sucre: I relocated from phc , to Lagos, now based in Surulere. About 18 mins drive to island o, if no traffic and lesser to Ikeja or there about. The good thing with Surulere, we can use third mainland or eko bridge, incase of road wahala. I stay at Ogunlana drive o, rent here na die. I leave the office by 5pm, get home before 6pm, my colleague leaving in Gbagada waits till 7pm because of traffic, the one at magodo leaves 5pm get to her house after me have taken dinner and bath o. shine your eye
Abeg wetin be average prices for Self con and miniflat for this your area?
afrodoc2: Vitek is still here. He is on loan in the Austrian league.
Bayindir is not convincing. Even the Japanese keeper we were initially connected to seems to be an otu keeper.
Kovar is the really promising one abi? I guess the expectation with Onana is they expected that by the time the “style” clicked he’d not have a lot of saving to do a la Ederson of Man city. Instead we were competing with relegated teams in terms of shots conceded last season and very high quality shots too
We didn’t keep Vitek or Kovar. Don’t remember the names of our other GK options Instead we bought Bayindir who I don’t think ETH trusts enough to be number 1 So we can’t even bench Onana for several useless performances
afrodoc2: Hehehe. I think you were the one i was warning about Onana after that final. Watching him from afar i always knew he was erratic but couldn't identify the reason but having watched closely in the past 12 months i now know why. He does not have the foundational skills of a goalkeeper:
1) His positioning is poor.
2) His timing is way off. This is why he is often still setting his feet when the ball passes him. Also, partly responsible for his struggles coming for aerial balls.
3) He is not agile. It takes him ages to get down for shots close to his body.
4) He does not have great leaping ability, meaning he struggles with shots far from his body.
5) His hands are soft like fufu which is why it looks like he is using boxing gloves and can't get any distance on his punches.
Like Mount and Antony, there is no hope for him at this club.
So we are basically looking for a new GK too When will this pain end
eph12: Maybe I have forgotten how the first goal happened. I remember Case had to pass and he chose to pass forward, which was intercepted.
I have not praised Slot gameplan. I only mentioned it because he spoke about it and we saw it happen. What can you say about your ETH's game plan?
First goal was a wrong pass Second goal was Case bundled off the ball like a sack of sawdust, from behind The third goal is the one that can be really called a close down from pressing Slot can go on and on about a gameplan but that game was open until Casemiro decided to gift two whole goals.
Casemiro aside we were constantly in a 4 vs 2 when Liverpool won the ball higher up the pitch. We also had opportunities to and even did outnumber them like that a few times but did Bleep all with it
eph12: There is a reason I have not even mentioned Casemiro name at all or any player. Slot and his team came with a game plan. Close down Case and Mainoo very fast with as many players as possible. What was ETH's plan? Anybody?
Only the third goal is a close down tho , no? Easy to praise Slot for having a gameplan when we were making mistakes all over the place
engrelvis: kobbie Mainoo is nothing special... just one season wonder. His game this season has been completely useless. Yes Casemiro is reckless but oga mainoo is not helpin mata at all. Dnt really know y Arambat was sent back.
One would not think Mainoo has only half a season of senior football with this your post
patrickmuf: That moniker might be someone's alternate because his defence of ETH is just too religious... Maik, when you are ready, you go tell us your original moniker.
I’m just rationale and y’all are not It’s simple Ten Hag that I fought people who defended him in real life after our worst ever PL campaign last season and swore that he must be sacked
But then you Nigerians do this thing where once you don’t like a person or they have disappointed in the past then even when they have done nothing wrong noise must be made and then you refer to what they did in the past. Me I don’t do such. This is a new season and new management and must be looked at as such. All of us were optimistic about Ineos taking over and hoping things would change. I still insist that there was no reason for all the tears on this thread after that Brighton match . Yesterday’s performance was bad and I’ll say it as it is.
I said this before the season started and got dragged here We have other issues obviously but I have been proved right so far and will remain right until things change
eph12: The funny thing is that what happened yesterday is not different from what happened for majority of last season and even the first season. So I'm not sure why this one is different for you
I’m talking about the first two games sir Or have you seen me talk about previous seasons here before?
eph12: Were you not the one that asked people to be crying the other day?
There was no reason for agenda in the first two games. Yesterday’s game was absolutely abysmal and those are the kind of things that should be called out
patrickmuf: Rashford again played 90 minutes when he was one of the worst players on the pitch.
Play Garnacho and Amad on either wing. As soon as Amad came on, Liverpool started double-marking him. That's him taking out an extra player because of his directness. Imagine if we had Garnacho running at TAA and Amad doing the same on the right wing. Liverpool would have been more cautious in their approach, but no, Rashford must start. Erik Bin Laden is a useless coach.
I understand you here but I think you people overrate Garnacho too much I think it was afrodoc2 I was telling a while ago that I have never seen him play well on the left As washed as Rashford is he created two big chances yesterday for sexy Amad is the one Ten Hag deserves the sack for benching cos it was so pointless
Case is just too loose with the ball in that midfield. He has been like that since he came, and now that his legs are gone he can't correct his mistake. He either takes too long on the ball and gets caught in possession or he hurries the pass and gives it away cheaply. Our CDM should not be that generous with the ball to the opponent. I would start Collyer in the next game if Ugarte is not yet match fit.
We should have let Case go after last season But away from case, our structure when we lose the ball is atrocious o Those first two Liverpool goals yesterday can only be forgiven if they were against Ansar-udeen community school team
LostMyZeal: Zirkzee has it in him. We're playing rubbish. That guy's better suited to possession teams.
It was RVN that persuaded him to come probably because RVN is expecting ETHs hot seat. So Zirkzee is certainly for the future. He'll cook if we become possession oriented
I’m talking about two very good chances he missed tho The attempts were not good enough
