It's not news that Hausa-Fulanis and most Nigerians trust Igbos more than Yorubas. Go and read IBB's book and hear what he said about 1966 coup and Igbos.


Yorubas are known for deceit, backstabbing and being pretentious to achieve favor.

The lecturer was incorrect to physically touch the female student. There are polite and respectful ways to request someone's attention or ask for a video featuring them to be deleted.

Similarly, the student could have addressed the lecturer's behavior through proper channels, such as reporting the incident to university authorities, rather than resorting to other measures.

It's unfortunate that societal bias, influenced by the lecturer's status and he is an elderly man factor and the student's gender, may impact how this situation is perceived and addressed.

From the video the lecturer touched her first. You do not put hands on a person, he could have easily said excuse me, she shifts then he passes. From the video too, one can observe she did not speak to him directly in her response but to someone on the right side of the screen obviously making a comment that the man taped her to shift. What the made the lecturer return to the picture which further escalated the situation?
The man should have just walked on, to hold on to her restricting her movement and demanding she identifies herself is a no no.
Bottomline Mr lecturer no handle himself well. He phone falling and breaking due to him struggling with her to delete the video is enough to make her go ballistic. In saner climes the lady has a good case.
NB. There is nothing wrong in this age of social media for a student to make a tiktok video on campus even in her department.

Look at you? The lecturer has no single right to tap her. He has mouth. He should have said “excuse me”. Tapping any one is rude and could be term harassment. Some people could get into anxiety just by tapping them. Secondly, the lecturer cannot go back to demand an insult should be taking back or dragging someone else’s phone. All he has is to initiate a school policy by reporting or sue her. He deserves all he got. In a sane clime, he would even be arrested and fired for this act unbecoming of a professional

The lecturer had passed only for him to return just because he thought or he heard her use some insulting words. He came to enquire and to tell her to delete her video on the phone and because she refused he seized her phone.....
And the rest happened.....


Well, if I were the lecturer I would have used my phone and take a picture of her or wait till she has sent the purported video online and if I appear in it then I'll report to the school authorities and get my personal lawyer to ensure the case goes to court.....

He asking if she was his student was out of place because if she is she would have not over reacted to the point of biting him except there's more not said or captured.
