magicminister: There was no reason for the lecturer to tap her. He could've easily asked for her to make room but based on the video, it appeared there was ample room in the back for the lecturer to pass through.
Her verbal insult of the lecturer is not a crime.
However, the lecturer's attempt to grab her phone and force her to delete the video could equate to theft.
I don't know enough about this story but based on what I just saw, the lecturer initiated the conflict and escalated the conflict by further engaging the student

Abuja, Nigeria – In an event that underscores the significance of legal advocacy, renowned human rights lawyer Deji Adeyanju has successfully secured the release of a delivery driver who was detained for allegedly driving too close to the convoy of the Inspector-General of Police. The arrest, which took place last week, ignited widespread public outrage and sparked important discussions about police conduct and citizens' rights.
The delivery driver, whose identity has been kept confidential, was apprehended by police officers while on his delivery route. Eyewitnesses recounted that the driver was merely performing his duties when he was surrounded by police vehicles and detained. The arrest was reportedly made on the charge of "driving too close" to the Inspector-General's convoy, a charge that many have criticized as disproportionate and unfair.

A viral video showing police officers in Akwa Ibom State assaulting a pregnant woman over the enforcement of the third-party vehicle insurance policy has sparked widespread outrage across the state, News360 Nigeria reports.
Reports indicate that the officers involved in the incident are suspected to be from the Itam Police Division. In the disturbing footage, the woman, allegedly an insurance defaulter, is seen being dragged by the officers until she collapses on the ground.
A Facebook user, Mayor Sylvester, condemned the act, expressing frustration over the police’s handling of the situation.
“This is what the Itam Police Station in Akwa Ibom State has turned the third-party insurance issue into. They are now acting like animals. These are the kind of irresponsible characters recruited into the force. Imagine how a pregnant woman is being rough-handled. I just hope her baby is still alive,” he wrote.
He further suggested a better approach to enforcing vehicle insurance policies, saying, “If the police want to ensure every vehicle has third-party insurance, why not assign representatives from insurance companies to police checkpoints? That way, defaulters can easily renew their insurance on the spot instead of facing such brutality.”
No Official Response from Police
Despite the video trending online for over 16 hours, the Akwa Ibom State Police Command has yet to release an official statement on the incident. Efforts to contact the Commissioner of Police, CP Bala Mohammed Azare, and the Command’s spokesperson, Tifon John, were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.
Meanwhile, the excessive use of force by the officers attracted a crowd of sympathizers, with many in the background questioning why the police had to resort to such violence.

Kenya Airways has reacted to a viral video of an altercation between one of its employees and a Nigerian passenger at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi.
Tunde Moshood, the Special Adviser on Media and Communications to the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, posted the video early Monday morning.
“Our attention has been drawn to several cases of inhuman treatments of Nigerian passengers in Nairobi by @KenyaAirways. A case of Ms. Omisore G. who flew from Manchester to Lagos, connecting-Man-CDG-NBO-LOS, only to be denied boarding in Nairobi on the 2nd leg of same ticket,” he said.
In the video, the airline employee is heard telling the Nigerian passenger that she will not be allowed to fly Kenya Airways again, and when the passenger said she was on the phone with Nigeria’s finance minister, the agent said she could call the Nigerian president if she liked.
“You will not fly on the Kenya Airways. You will never enter our airline again; call your president, call the Nigerian president,” the airline agent said.
“We are not going to give you anything. You are not going to fly on our airways again.”
Meanwhile, the Nigerian passenger complained about a 17-hour delay, lamenting that she needed a sanitary towel.
“I need a sanitary towel. You will give me food tonight,” she said.
A reaction by the Corporate Communications, Kenya Airways, to the video showing the verbal exchange between the passenger and a Kenya Airways agent at the transfer desk in Nairobi, the airline said, “The guest was traveling from Lagos to Nairobi, Paris, and Manchester.
“On arrival in Nairobi for her connecting flight (Nairobi-Paris), it was discovered that she did not have a SCHENGEN Visa, which is a requirement for her to enter any European Union Country.
“She was offered an alternative to travel through London and onward to Manchester, which she refused. Upon further investigation, we have established that the video does not provide full context.
“Unhappy with this option, the guest demanded accommodation, which Kenya Airways does not provide in cases where boarding is denied due to visa requirements. It is the responsibility of passengers to ensure they have the necessary documentation for their journey.
“In a distressing turn of events, the guest resorted to inappropriate behaviour by removing and throwing 3 used sanitary pads at our employees.
“We strongly condemn such conduct. While we remain committed to delivering exceptional service, we expect all interactions to be based on mutual respect. Our employees deserve to work in a safe and dignified environment, and we do not tolerate any abuse from our employees or guests.”
The airline said the “incident has been reported and is under investigation by the relevant security agencies”.
“We are committed to taking the necessary steps to ensure the well-being and safety of our employees and guests at all times,” it added.

But guess what? We can smell slaves like you from a mile away. It's painted all over you. Now run along ,your masters need you to bark some more
kettykin: No Igbo is crying here. What we’re witnessing is pure selective amnesia, FFK. You’ve conveniently jumped into the middle of the book, ignoring the critical beginning.
Let’s set the record straight: Awolowo was rotting in prison, serving time for treasonable felony—a lost cause in every sense of the word. Western Nigeria was under a state of emergency, chaos engulfed the region, and no one was weeping for him. Yet, here you are, fast-forwarding to a chapter where a group of military officers stepped in to restore order, conveniently skipping the blood-soaked prologue.
Even more hypocritical is your silence on Awolowo’s eventual forced suicide, a tragic culmination that elicited no national mourning. Or the thousands slaughtered during Operation Wetie, victims of unspeakable violence. Where were the tears then?
And now, you dare shed crocodile tears when soldiers tear each other apart but turn mute when the same horrors are inflicted on innocent civilians? Spare us the double standards. This is not selective memory—it’s deliberate hypocrisy.
Stop dancing around the carnage and wickedness of the ibo mindlessness and power gluttony. How many ibo women where killed during the coup, how many ibo officers died in front of their families. You guys are mindless miscreants.
