Despite the indefinite postponement of the inauguration of the campaign council by the APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) on Wednesday, the Leader of the House of Representatives, Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa said he had kick-started with his 4 wives and 28 children.

It will be recalled that the campaigns for the 2023 presidential and national assembly elections officially commenced on Wednesday as the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, formally lifted the ban on street campaigns.

Speaking when he was called to move a motion for the adjournment of the day’s plenary, Doguwa who sauntered into the chamber almost at the eleventh hour said he was held back by the campaigns.

The lawmaker who represents Doguwa/Tudun Wada Federal Constituency of Kano State was notably known for his penchant to speak about his harem of women and the community of children at each given opportunity on the floor of the House.

Doguwa however assured the votes of his large household were for the Presidential candidate of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“Today is the 28th day of September, which is the flag off of presidential and National Assembly campaigns. Even though my party had cause to reschedule their programme and activities, I have done my flag off with my 28 children and four wives, who will vote for Tinubu and every other candidate of the APC.
“I came in very unusually late into the chamber. I had to flag off my campaign and the campaign of my presidential candidate, Tinubu. I was actually doing something worthwhile,” he said.

The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo has again mocked the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar over their campaign poster.

Earlier, Atiku had tweeted two campaign posters on his verified Twitter handle, saying “the campaign to take back and rebuild Nigeria starts today”.

On one of the posters, with the inscription, Atiku/Okowa #Betterdeycome has a picture of the Lekki-Ikoyi bridge commissioned during the administration of the former Governor Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola.

Reacting to this, Keyamo in a tweet mocked the PDP, Atiku, and his running mate, Ifeanyi Okowa for using the bridge as campaign material.

The minister, who also doubles as the spokesman for the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council said the PDP chose to use the 1.36 km cable-stayed bridge in Lagos state in their campaign advert because they could not get any campaign material in Adamawa and Delta, where Atiku and Okowa hailed from.

He tweeted: “You all, please come and see something!! In their first campaign advert, after scouting from Delta to Adamawa and seeing nothing with which to campaign, Atiku & Okowa had to borrow ⁦ @officialABAT Lekki Bridge in Lagos as a campaign material! Chai. This is disaster for PDP!”

This is not the first time Keyamo would deride the PDP since he became the APC campaign spokesperson.

Barely a week ago, the minister mocked the opposition party over the internal crisis rocking it.

Keyamo said it’s unbelievable that a party that has lost control of its internal mechanism continued to say that it wants to rescue the country.

With just four days until the official flag-off of the political campaign, spokesperson of the Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, Festus Keyamo, has unveiled the first edition of his much-publicised podcast.

Keyamo shared a clip of his first podcast on social media and Whatsapp platform on Saturday evening.

The Senior Advocate of Nigeria, in the recording, could be heard explaining that the podcast would catalogue the achievements of the presidential candidate of ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

The Minister of State for Labour and Employment informed that the podcast would serve as a tool to debunk fallacies and set the tone as the September 28 campaign season beckons.

Keyamo stated, “I welcome you to the first edition of a weekly podcast I will bring to you as the chief image maker of this campaign, highlighting the issues, debunking the fallacies and setting the tone for this campaign on a weekly basis.
“Remember, our candidate is an easy one to sell. All you need to do is to look at his record and the records are there for everyone to see. Next week, we shall look at some of them and the person of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he added.
