pato405: @OP, take things easy! remember someone has it worse than you think you do. to be candid, nobody in the world can claim to be lonelier than I am right now, but I don't (and will NEVER) allow it get me depressed. I'm somewhere in the north-east UK.you wont believe I don't even know my next door neighbour. I wont describe myself as the anti-social type. I know I roll with the boyz a lot back in 9ja, but things haven't been the same since I came to this socially miserable place. it's all 'mind your business' kind of a place. not like I'm the nosy type but I just believe that an occasional face-to-face exchange of pleasantries at least isn't a bad idea. I cant wait to zoom out of this place as soon as I'm through with studies. it's more or less as if I'm the only blck dude around- submerged in a sea of snobbish long-nosed whitees. it's all man to himself here. no sense of community let alone belonging. if this is the jand they talk about, I aint interested abeg! the population of older people here is alarming! very conservative ppl

socialisation is zero! but aint complaining! I believe it's a passing phase. If you dont experience such things, you may never appreciate the value of companionship. I can remember times when I hid from friends, evading their social advances. friends who were always bugging me for one outing or the other. I felt they were disturbing me. my social calender was always too full. now, I'm seeing the other side of things and I want them around again. at least just one person to bug me. somtyms we dont appreciate what we have until we lose it.

what I simply do is come on NL lurk around some pages, , watch movies online, make a few calls, skyps, e.t.c

so, I'll advice you seek recreation with the things that relate to your interest. read a novel,a mag, current news, develop your mind, call a few friends e.t.c hope it helps. you can drop a mail if you dont mind.

thanx alot dear i appreciate, its jst dat ive tried so many a time to socialise nd its nt working out great for me. Smtimes i jst feel as though am cursed or smtin. Nd dis emptinex in me is driving me mad, am curently in my rum, ive read, eaten, played games on my phone stil am nt happy inside.

Why do I feel so empty inside?? I feel incredibly lonely... I've always felt somewhat depressed but I feel like it's intensifying more than ever lately and I don't like these feelings that I'm having. Despite the fact that I can't seem to make friends, I really feel as if my life serves no purpose. No one hardly ever calls me and when I try to make things work with friends, everyone is always busy including family. I haven't been able to make friends even when I tried my hardest to socialize. I'm somewhat socially awkward. I was feeling lonely last night so I decided to go to this local bar by myself and it ended in disaster. None of the guys there seemed interested in talking with me and I found myself at a table by myself looking at everyone dance for about 2 hours before I decided to walk out and take myself home. I actually got home and cried for about 30minutes until I fell asleep. I've been trying to keep myself busy but nothing is really helping me with these feelings.... I don't know anymore.. Pls help
