This thing dey like ludo/chess: you can see clearly from outside. Man was visibly angry and was squeezing my passport and papers through the window while he muted those words. But it’s fine. I actually didn’t share because I want correction or sympathy. I want others to learn and be strategic in this hustle.
Marjoribanks:

He said the more you applied the more it shows you are desperate to leave and you screamed ohh Noo.
You should have emphasized that your intention is not to immigrate but to study.
Even if he's still going to deny you, you should have screamed that at him.
You shouldn't have given up just like that.
Next time be bold and courageous!

You dismiss personal experiences, and want to form kingkong with “If to say I no mention that guy error now”, when you are obviously displaying poor judgement.
bracelum:

Baba, all these things na excuses! Just take responsibilities for what happened and improve on your lapses.

Or are you trying to say the VO did not approve anyone that day? No dey talk this thing jare

If you share your transcript now, we may identify some of the lapses (I seriously encourage you to do that so you can avoid a repeat). If to say I no mention that guy error now, he for make everybody believe say the VO was harsh on him.

You obviously missed his first and last statements.
I have gotten your message, I screwed myself up, and now I cannot go to America again. I want to cry, so now enjoy yourself and face your front.
bracelum:

Keep beating around the bush and dribbling yourself. A simple LinkedIn research would tell you that most graduates of this program find their way into the industry even with the "research-focus" of the program.

I'm not here to debate about professional or research programs. I just wanted to tell you that you screwed yourself up and you don't have to accept it because it doesn't change anything.

If your career goal is research, you have to make it very clear to the VO to avoid them second-guessing. You clearly did not do that and you can't blame the VO for denying you.

Your fault
bracelum:

Having a thesis or project option doesn't change the fact that MS in Software Engineering has a professional focus.

And it is your duty to tell the VO that you have plans of pursuing a PhD in Software Engineering as a way to back up the research interest talk- a duty you failed to do. Then, whose fault is it?
Travel / Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 14 by makaba10: 9:31pm On May 22, 2019
You should read reviews about Software Engineering at University of California, Irvine for instance. It’s completely research oriented with little focus on the industry. The curriculum varies from schools to schools.
bracelum:

It has a professional focus and prepares you for the industry. It is not a research-based degree like a PhD and I see no reason for you to mention research interest when you're going for an MS in Software Engineering.

You blew yourself up

Probably the same misconception the VOs have. There’s thesis or project options.
And people proceed to pursue PhD in Software Engineering.
bracelum:

You are attending a professional program and still talking about research interest. Na you shoot yourself for leg.

How is it a professional program?

shoyoyebiodun:
maybe you should post your transcript for the gurus in the house to see what and what may be missing or to add

I was denied visa (again) on May 16, 2019 for being desperate.
The VO was already angry. He denied a woman with a teenage boy on wheelchair and another woman who wants to visit his son. He was obviously angry with how the son got into the USA.
VO: (with angry tone) You have applied 3 times, why are you here again.
Me: my research interest has changed, and I also have a tuition scholarship and graduate assistantship.
VO: (pick my I-20 again, read through, type and was a little calm) what did you study in undergraduate
Me: Computer Engineering
VO: what year did you finish
Me: January 2016
VO: You want to go for your Masters after 3 years, so what have you been doing since then.
Me: I did my NYSC for a year, worked at Company A for year, and I am concurrently working at company B.
VO: Do you write any language.
Me: Yes, I work with C# and JavaScript, I use React, Node.js and .NET.
VO: (angrily) Alright, but I will be rejecting you again, the more you apply, the more it shows you are desperate to leave.
Me: I scream oh no, but I pick my stuff and left.
(I applied last year for MS in Software Engineering with no funding, I applied for visa in May 21 and August 4 for Fall 2018, and December 3, 2018 for Spring 2019 all with the same school and program. This year I am going to a different school for MS in Computer Science with a Specialization in Software Engineering with tuition scholarship and Graduate Assistantship covering 75% of the cost with only a deficit of $8500).

I was also denied on the 16, by an old white man in window. what window?
And be strategic in your application. I was denied even with tuition scholarship and TA covering about 75% with only a deficit of $8,500 because I have made 3 applications before. The man is claiming that I am desperate to leave.

PM me especially if you graduated from Engineering.

30watts:
Hello Guys

Please I have been requested by TAMUC to send official diploma and official transcripts. It is stated on the school's website that electronic copies are not accepted for these two documents.

I understand that the official diploma in our WAEC result. However, I don't know what the process is to send WAEC results. Secondly, this NASU, SSANU strike that has been on for two months implies that I may not be able to send official transcripts despite having the scanned copies.

Kindly assist if you have a contact at the University of Lagos Records office or have a suggestion as to how to resolve this issue. In addition, I will appreciate if anyone that has experience with sending "official diploma's" can provide guidiance on what steps to take.

Happy Weekend smiley

Thanks

It's definitely well above 3.0/4.0. Something around 3.3+/4.0.

The duration of WES evaluation process is largely dependent on your undergraduate school. First, the transcript would be sent to WES by either you or your school, WES would then send it back to your school for vetting, and the school would send it back to WES before any evaluation is done. My WES evaluation was completed in about 3-4 weeks. If the academic records office of your school didn't join the NASU strike and they don't delay in processing your transcript, your evaluation should be completed in a month.

Ayoola222:
Good day everyone, I began an admission process at St Cloud State University, Minesota in 2016 for the Fall of 2017. I wanted to study Strategic Communications and GRE is not required. Having uploaded every other documents, I was required to send my transcript via WES which will cost about $206. I got discouraged because I felt the procedure was awkward coupled with lack of funds as at then. I sought advice from friends in the US and they told me to abandon the process and look for schools that won't require WES.
I found one and I wrote my GRE last December but, I had a low score (273). Now, I am thinking of revisiting my admission process at St Cloud State and I need an advice from someone with a similar experience on how to go about the WES and how long it will take for the transcript to be processed etc. Please, address my case.

Correct such errors on academic documents as soon as you notice them. I had errors on my transcripts that were sent to multiple schools. Luckily I also requested for a personal copy. I made the errors were corrected, and the updated copies were sent to the schools again. Thankful, the school borne the cost of sending the update copies via courier.

please house ave gat an issue.I graduated with second upper which my certificate already holds, i went to my school recently to apply for both official and student copy of my transcript to my greatest surprise there was a typo error on my copy saying i graduated with second class lower and i no it will still reflect on my official transcript. Is there a problem with this? should i go back to my school for them to make corrections?

Most schools have April 1 deadline. You may be late for priority deadline(for funding), but you can still meet up with Fall 2018.

Good day all.

From your experiences, can I still meet up with Fall 2018 admission, despite I've not taken my GRE and TOEFL?

The one I can help with is a company's account. And only has N10M. Not sure this is what you need!
Thank you very much, but I have decided to hold on until I am given admission. I applied to 6 Universities of which one requires financial statement before application is reviewed while the rest only require that after admission has been given. So I would hold for decisions from them before looking for financial documents. The I-20 amount for one of the schools is usually around 51k dollars, so I am looking for something around 55k dollars so it can cover for whichever one that comes through. Once again, thanks for your interest.
