Today, Monday 22nd August 2022 in Kaduna, the Nigeria Maritime University (NMU) has ratified a Memorandum of Understanding with the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA). This and many other strategic steps are intended to tilt NMU towards an autarky, thus carving a niche for itself in the committee of Nigerian universities.

In addition to sabbatical and student exchanges, the bouquet of post-graduate, specialised and short courses that will be jointly administered are as follows:
i. Maritime Security and Safety (Certificate Course, PGD, M.Sc, Ph.D);
ii. Maritime Dispute Management and Resolution (Certificate Course)
iii. Maritime Risks Analysis and Disaster Management (Certificate Course, PGD)
iv. Maritime Enterpreneurship (Certificate Course)
v. Maritime Transport Technology (Certificate Course, PGD,M.Sc, Ph.D)
vi. Transportation Management (PGD, M.Sc, Ph.D)
vii. Logistics and Supply Chain Management (Certificate Course, PGD, M.Sc, Ph.,D)
viii. Shipping and Maritime Operations (Certificate course, PGD, M.Sc, Ph.D)
ix. Safety Management System (Certificate Course).

The Commandant of the NDA, Major General I.M. Yusuf, Provosts, Deans, and senior management attended the ceremony; as Professor Emmanuel Munakurogha Adigio led a 7-Man Delegation which comprised principal officers of NMU amongst whom were Dr. Alfred Tamaraun-Etina Mulade (Registrar), Dr. Godfrey Pondei (Deputy Registrar/Director of Partnerships), Dr. Victor Omoke (Dean, Faculty of Transport), Commodore Kingdom Itoko Rtd (Director of Regimentation), and Barr. Linda Wereyesigha (Head of Legal).

By today’s ceremony, all is now set for the takeoff of academic, specialised and professional courses in Bayelsa, Port Harcourt, and few other cities across the Nigerian federation.

The Nigeria Maritime University located @ Okerenkoko Delta State an island in the Niger Delta creeks kicked off with it's first set in 2018 and it's in the 5th year of operation. A Regimented institution the only Paramilitary University in Nigeria, students are called cadets are they are trained by naval officers so they are as disciplined as NDA cadets. It is not under ASUU so they are not affected by the strikes
It's a beautiful place to be. Schooling there is tough tho but you will be glad you did

They are well trained and regimented like NDA only difference is they don't do Arms drill every other drill they perform.

Surviving without money is not possible and I don't think I can survive in this school again with money

Just as the topic I am running mad.
Been a while I posted or came online here because I recently got admitted into the Nigeria maritime University to study mechanical engineering and we resumed two months ago.
The school stress with the fact that it's a paramillitary school is one of the reason I am making this Post.
No food
No money and fees to pay is all running through my head and I can't even focus on my studies.
Life is hard
I don't understand,my head is full

I went in as a private tutor for this girl, few minutes into the teaching I asked to use the toilet so she directed me to visitors toilet, What I saw hasn't cleared off my head, Sanitary oads with dried blood, dog poo right there in the floor. Bunch of dirty newspaper I guess it was used to as toilet paper. Grease all over the wall. And many more crazy things I can't say. I just couldn't use the place and I begged her to let me use her toilet. It was dirty too but manageable.

I have never in my life ever seen such a dirty House. I haven't healed from that experience
