To any political observer , Reno Omokri's favourite topics are, The North, Buhari, Tinubu and El-Rufai. He likes and enjoys calling himself the "Buhari Tormentor. As for Tinubu and El-Rufai, his aversion to them is wholly based on the fact that their chances of becoming juggernauts in the next political dispensation is stupendous. His dislike of these personalities seems superficial since on many occasions he has alluded to being in good terms or in correspondence with some of them. That is why it is not out of points, some say, to have called him a hatchet man, a political amanuensis and a modern hagiographer.

Recently, Omokri's hagiography seemed to have shifted from Buhari, Tinubu and El-Rufai to a new theme - Nnamdi Kanu and Igbo history - a surprising and complete 180 on his rabid home fans, best cheer groups and supposed allies.

To some analysts, these shifts are not in the least surprising or anything new. It is as Julius Caesar notes, "No one is so brave that he is not disturbed by something unexpected."

Reno Omokri is as lily livered and cowardly as Nnamdi Kanu and FFK. The long-term planning, secrecy and ease with which Buhari picked Nnamdi Kanu from somewhere and cornered Sunday Igboho in Benin Republic (he and his wife in tears, a wife who may possibly flee because she's not used to all these Nigerian politics and hassles) is what has surprised and shaken not only Reno Omokri but all phony critics, conflict entrepreneurs and fake freedom fighters.

As a smart alec as Reno is, he reckoned it is better to save his skin first by leaving his favourite subjects (Buhari, Tinubu and El-Rufai) alone and look around for some softer targets to distract from the 'perceived' consequences of Buhari's strategic maneuvers.

Looking around and spreading out his antennas, he found that Nnamdi Kanu (a fair-weather friend), Igbo and Igbo history (esp. the iPoB variants and their miseducation) would be his best bet.

Attacking these he hoped will soothe the pains and ingratiate him to those he felt would deliver a devastating and impactful blow, or in the least be seen as a necessary nuisance with some patriotic leanings.

Rem: it is not as if Omokri just discovered these Igbo history he's churning out without end. This scheme would gently let him off Buhari's, Tinubu's and El-Rufai's backs for good (his preferred option), become an ardent Igbo critic (his Plan B) or buys him time to incipiently return to attacking his favorite 'enemies' once the coast his clear (his Plan C).

Lastly:

Remember; it is not as if Omokri just realized that Nnamdi Kanu is phony or just discovered these unpalatable Igbo history he's churning out.

Remember also that Omokri claimed to have pursued Buhari out of England and France in the latter's last two foreign visits, with undeserving acts and abuses to a nation's president.

Nnamdi Kanu's mysterious appearance in Nigeria and the cocooning of Igboho is Benin Republic is what has turned Omokri into an ice cream seller and Igbo historian.

That is why Buhari is having a protest free sojourn in England, the excuse of the hired gangs being Buhari is nowhere to be seen.
