Vessel laden with contaminated fuel in Lagos The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) on Monday said it seized a vessel, MT JAZI, loaded with 1. 5 million litres of contaminated petroleum product while discharging at Nakem Jetty, Kirikiri, Lagos. The Director of DPR, Mordecai Ladan, who disclosed this to newsmen in Lagos, said the vessel was intercepted on February 11 while discharging at Nakam jetty. The federal government has concluded arrangements to bring back home a fresh set of 180 Nigerians migrants trapped in Libya and 50 deportees from the European Union this week. While the Libya returnees will arrive the country on Tuesday, the deportees from the EU will be received on Thursday. Nigeria is to license a new oil and gas free zone in Delta state, the Managing Director, Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority (OGFZA), Umana Umana, said on Friday. Umana, who disclosed this at the end of an inspection visit to the proposed free zone to be located in Okitigbo in Warri North of Delta State, said he was impressed with the level of physical development of the proposed free trade hub. Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has described corruption as one of the reasons Nigerians were facing hardship.
