Thiefs!!! They'll need to hand all those bronzes right back to the Oba of Benin and other places where they got stolen from. They have no right at all to claim these things and they must be given back NOT sold back to their rightful place. This applies to all ivory tusks and all other items these brithish criminals took.

Sweden is not free anymore thanks to new government angry. If you are from outside EU, you pay.

This suks, both for students from Afrika, Asia and Amerika and for the Swedish universities. I do not know about neighbor countries.
Travel / Re: Nigerians In Sweden, How Is The Economy And Life Generally by Malstrom(m): 12:05pm On Apr 10, 2012
Greetings!

I'm an Afroswede, born and raised in Sweden. Life in sweden is okay, but not much more than that. Its true there is some sense of security system or "safety net" that prevents people to fall below a sertain standard of living. However this welfare system is not what it used to be and the general politics in this century are moving more and more towards lower taxes and a free market so the redistributing of wealth and founding of social institutions for everybody such as youth centres and cheap health care are fading. Sweden still has a well developed school system which is free for all citisens but the gap between rich and poor is now widening and schools in areas with a more wealthy population tend to have better standards and resources both in forms of materials and employees.

One very important thing to be aware of in this country is that the distribution of wealt can generally be matched with a scale of etnicity, or skincolor. The darker skin you have in Sweden, the lower paid is your job. Sweden do not register its citisens etnicity so the istitutional racism is hard to prove with the help of numbers since there is almost no statistics on it, it falls below the radar. Minority goups in this society is heavily marginalised and have no prominent voice in media or in politics. The few "brown" peolpe in the parliament have gone so far by downplaying their own heritage and by pushing for "stricter laws and regulations towards immigrants".

Sweden is one of those countries where you might live for 40 years or even be born in, and still not really feel "swedish". The perceprion of "swedishness" does not include anyone that is non-white, thats why, as for examle an African, many doors will be closed. Swedes still feel that blacks, arabs, asians or latinos is not a natural part of sweden. It does not matter if your family has livd here for generations, if you are black, your swedishness will be questioned and you will never be fully accepted as swedish as much as a white person with a "swedish-sounding" name or not even as much as an immigrant that is white.

The grass is allways greener on the other side... If you come here you might find it an acceptable place to live if you master the language and manage to withstand the long dark cold winters. The nature is beautiful, the streets are much safer than UK or USA and as I said before the education system is really good and totally free. grin Its not easy in Sweden but its far from the worst places to live. Unfortunately the new government imposed fees for exchange students from outside EU so if you are not planning on becoming a citisen and just want to study i reccomend Germany. They still have a lot of schools with very low fees but with hight quality and you will find many masters programmes in english.

Religion / Re: There Is No Wedding Ring In The Old Or New Testaments. by Malstrom(m): 5:54pm On Dec 03, 2011
Babylon was not the cradle of civilisation, Africa was, and Babylon was not in Africa.

The snake biting its tail is a very old symbol for eternity from various ancient African cultures most predominately Egypt. It does not come from Europe or from Satan-worship.

The cross is a Christian symbol only because of the circumstance that at that time, criminals were put up on crosses to die. It could have been something else,

The wedding rings does not come from Christianity but from old European cultures. I do not see anything wrong with wedding rings as long as you don't buy blood diamonds or buy something you can't really afford.

I found an article describing what I meant with the names, I do not recognice the rest tho tongue

"As far as the parents are concerned, one of the most notable things that happen to the parents of twins is the nomenclature that multiple births bring about. The parents instantly begin to be called either as the “Mother of the spirits” or “the father of the spirits”. In Central Uganda, the Mother of twins become automatically known as Nnalongo while the father becomes Ssalongo. These new naming for the parents are so powerful that the concerned parents gradually lose the original names they were hitherto known by in that community before the twin birth."

U might find if you search on the web but I do unfortunately not have any academic links. I was taught those things by Ugandans telling me things about their culture when the subject "twins" came up at one time. smiley
Culture / Re: The Art And Architecture Of Yorubaland! by Malstrom(m): 11:25pm On Nov 27, 2011
I don't see that Mr Campbell suggest anywhere in that citation that Minoan people founded Yoruba land. He is simply saying there were trading connections, really
Culture / Re: The Art And Architecture Of Yorubaland! by Malstrom(m): 10:52pm On Nov 27, 2011
He just states that the Cretes travelled by sea and made business with people from Egypt to west Africa. It makes sense to me, could be true. At least they made  business with Egypt. Did you know their first writing system was based on Egyptian Hieroglyphs? The Minoan people had strong ties to Egypt from the very start smiley

Culture / Re: The Art And Architecture Of Yorubaland! by Malstrom(m): 6:54pm On Nov 27, 2011
I know twins are venerated in Many African cultures!!! grin The Ganda people in Uganda for example its a great pride for the family and especially the mother. In traditional communities she will be treated like a queen by the other women, they'll really treat her with respect. On top of that all the family members get new names and there are certain names for a mother of twins, a brother of twins, a father of twins and so on. And the twins will get special names too of course,

In some cultures I have heard its the opposite, that twins are hated, but I'm not sure about that at all.
Religion / Re: The True Religion by Malstrom(m): 6:48pm On Nov 27, 2011
I disagree!

I think you make an extreme example when you say the whole tribe will be wiped out. Tribes have ALWAYS been mixing to a certain extent but most still marry their own tribe and its not like they'll stop producing children. As long as the percentage of people marrying outside of their tribe does not radically rise, the complete make- up of the tribe will stay the same. I do not believe in complete blood "purity" neither do I believe its possible to maintain any such thing in the long run. The general genetics of a tribe will change a lot in the vaaaaaaaaaaaaaaast future, but that will probably mean the whole worlds population will carry Chinese or Indian genes rather than white lol.

I still say Tribe is not equal only to blood, cus ONLY blood means nothing, some still know nothing about their culture, there has to be more. Tribe=blood+culture, where the presence of blood does not necessarily mean there is culture and the presence of culture does not necessarily mean there is blood but you need a part of both and then you are Of that tribe to various extent.
I say each one to their own smiley

I think African religion must expand and also get proper recognition by the state! angry The only country in whole of africa with a public holiday for African religion is Benin.
Religion / Re: The True Religion by Malstrom(m): 8:48pm On Nov 24, 2011
I understand that I can't claim any ONE tribe. Of course I cannot say I'm 100% Yoruba or anything but its still a part of me and the culture that comes with it. I belong to more than one tribe partly Yoruba partly Krio. Those are my cultures through my heritage and that makes me a part of it.

Its not all or nothing, If someone is of more than one single heritage it does not mean he is neither of them rather that he is both. And genetic make-up does not always match cultural affiliation. For example sometimes a couple of two different tribes lets say Mandinka and Wolof marry and get children the children might grow up almost completely in the culture of one of the parents and be Mandinka in every sense of way except a part of his genetics. Genes aren't everything, Tribes have always been mixing and still been able too maintain culture. Culture is more than that and does change over time even without outside influence.

My point is a Ganda/Ashanti man could even be more Ashanti than a plain Ashanti man lol. Exact Gene-makeup is not that important blood it thicker than water tho and one or another of those genes could be dominating physically or mentally. I also believe in the power of a name.

I also see very seriously on the fact that mainly Christianity and Islam are suffocating African religion in their aggressive expansion and intolerance towards African traditions and beliefs. Those religions are founded with a lot of money to run around the world and make people forget their own culture. Its easy for them to get new converts.
Religion / Re: The True Religion by Malstrom(m): 2:57pm On Nov 24, 2011
My heritage is a big confusing mix!! undecided I got white mother and black father, My African heritage is Krio and Yoruba. Krio in itself is result of a big mix of tribes. Most my family on my fathers side identify as Krio are spread out in several countries, however my Great grandfather was a Yoruba man born in Abeokuta who found work and settled in the Gambia. I have is name Odumosu just like dad, and granddad. Its my straight paternal line so to say. Odumosu means "Ifa is abow all" and I am very proud of this part of my heritage.

As I carry many white genes I do not look Yoruba and Im used to be called tubaab lol. Tho Im more accepted among black people compared to white people. I belong to my African heritage and that is where my heart lies. I might be looked upon as white by some Africans but I do not look white enough to fool white people lol and what I got in common with white people is not that much more than looks. As a person with mixed heritage living in a predominately white country I have come to dislike the ways of white people and much of their culture. Against all odds I truly see myself as Black and African and I am proud to pass on this legacy to my children in the future.

My family on both sides are Christians, so Im Christian by birth, the thing is I do not agree to many key things in Christianity and the lifestyle of most Christians does not suit me, I have also problem with the ties between this religion and most of the other misfortune that has been brought to Africa by those same people. Islam is a tiny bit more similar to my way of living but again I do not fully agree to the teachings and I have a problem by it being so dominated by Arab culture, I feel like they claim the whole damn thing. I begin to open my eyes to African religion. I have honoured my ancestors for a long time and I have always been going in this direction but I had a hard time finding a prominent tradition that belonged to my heritage except Christianity until I found out my great granddad was Yoruba.
So now Im exited to know more and do more family research and see if I can trace it back even further than my great granddad.

Sorry about really long answer on a simple question lol.

What about natural selection + God adding new information all the time?  grin

And what is it when a virus "mutates" and suddenly can affect humans when it all the time only could affect for example Cows Is that not some "molecule to man" - like model? like Natural selection + mutations+ God

Mutations are not disaster all the time, or are they??

Religion / Re: Facts About Christianity And The Bible by Malstrom(m): 1:17pm On Nov 23, 2011
The article says different and so did the web site for Sinaitic Codex, so it would be very strange if they have changed it now but on the other hand I did not read the original scriptures, I trusted the claims they published before on the site. However it is no doubt that the original bible is different compared to the new one, but it recuires me to read myself about the other statements. Ur right about the resurrection tho, but its odd they first said differently.

This shows Christians, Jews, Mormons and even Atheists are more violent minded than Muslims. So please stop throw accusations all around you are not better yourselves.

Eledumare does exist, the universe is far to complicated, beautiful, mind blowing and full of variation that it could have just happened by chance. Also, life does not appear out of nowhere that is not possible. smiley

frosbel HAHAHAHA I found this one in your link Four men were arrested on suspicion of trying to bomb the city of Gothenburg."

You know what, there was not a single evidence against those four men and this was the biggest fail made by police in a very long time. The police has now been sued and they have apologised to the men. I have met one of them in person myself!!

Its just another example of how the police treats innocent people based on religion. heavy armed police smashed in the door in the middle of the night and pointed their rifles at the children.

Luckily their families have been offered help from  to deal with the psychical trauma from Muslim ideal organisations for protection of human rights.

frosbel you actually try to prow me wrong with this BS? Stop beat down on people instead. The way people talk about Muslims today is exactly as we talked about the Jews before and we all know what that led to.
Religion / Re: Am Beginning To Lose Faith In Islam: Boko-haram Caused It by Malstrom(m): 11:51pm On Nov 22, 2011
This list only tell us what sort of attack and where it was, there is no info about the nature and background of the terrorist.
so firstly, there is no mentioning of the religious affiliation of the terrorist in those attacks

secondly the list is not only terrorist attacks, it is also about when they have found suspects that they think will do something.

So its in no way comparable statistics to what I posted, its not even statistics its just a bunch of data on different issues.
Religion / Re: Am Beginning To Lose Faith In Islam: Boko-haram Caused It by Malstrom(m): 11:37pm On Nov 22, 2011
The stats world wide are slightly different but Islamists are still under-representated.

Terrorist attacks by affiliation in Europe 2011 . The statistics speaks for themselves.

160    separatist
45      left-wing
0        right-wing
1        single issue
40      non spesified

total   249

This statistics are presented by europool, the law enforcement agency of the European Union. here is the link for those who dubt the facts: https://www.europol.europa.eu/latest_publications/2

God made man in his image right as far as I know way back then oyinbo people did not even exist! haha so a white God does not make sense grin

But Its silly to depict Eledumare as a old man figure, no one can see the creator. But Im not very attached to Christianity, I do however believe in the Creator.
Religion / Re: Am Beginning To Lose Faith In Islam: Boko-haram Caused It by Malstrom(m): 10:25pm On Nov 22, 2011
plappville The answer is we who rather unite as Africans than fussing about Islam vs. Christianity, we unite and if some rather appeal to the white man or the Arabs they will have to be sacrificed. There will always be Uncle Toms,
Religion / Re: Am Beginning To Lose Faith In Islam: Boko-haram Caused It by Malstrom(m): 10:18pm On Nov 22, 2011
The reason you don't hear so much violence from others like Christians is that media choose to show you one side of the story.

If you look it up Muslims are over represented in media reports about terrorism yet under- represented in actual cases of terrorist attacks. In Europe the EU is keeping statistics about the terrorist attacks each year from the last 5 to ten years and only 1-3% of all Terror attacks each year has been made by Muslims (or people claiming to be Muslims)
