Sahara Reporters!!! A bunch of crooks masquerading as reporters who take advantage of base minds given to sickening gullibility whilst managing to smile to the banks..... An evil medium that thrives on baseless sensationalism with screaming headlines (guaranteed to keep fools in a constant state of anger) whilst cleverly ensuring the main body of work has nothing to do with the raging headline! A shameless contraption that understands fully the psychology of fools/undiscerning masses that wakes up and shamelessly tells them "Stella Odua Forces NCAA ...." without bothering to explain just how they arrived at that bold conclusion! Of course they know their target audience and understand just how gullible they can be so they don't even bother to take the liberty of pretending! Yellow journalism at its basest state.... Thank God in "Stellagate", they failed woefully cos no matter how long lies keep wearing the mantle of Truth, no matter how long the incensed mob continue exhibiting their ignorance, all it takes to disperse a mob is the Truth cos in the final analysis, it was "all ado about nothing"....... The party has ended and SR must go back to do what it knows best...... Preying on the weak minds of the undiscerning by churning out news fit only for fools without the capacity to think for themselves but must be goaded into forming a predetermined opinion! It used to be Denzani Madueke, later Ngozi Okonjo Iwuala and now Stella Oduah. saharareporters reporters why pick on women, are they soft targets for u touts in New York. Or is there more than eyes could see on these self made scandals of yours. I found out you touts like the word gate a lot eg Denzanigate, Ngozigate now Stellagate. Ur armored cars issue became baseless once Stella went to the house to defend its purchases, als by saharareporters. If I may ask why haven't Lai Mohammed speak out on these so called scandals. Nigerians we are wiser and have our own minds. They rather not speak out but u now turned to the cost of rebuilding the airports. Which has being ur major issues with her while hiding under arcide the good and evil Time to give it up. You lost the battle. Hold your heads in shame. Lies will always be crushed by the truth. Time for Sahara Reporters to go take some journalism classes. |

This is the funniest thing I've heard all day, I knew Nigerians were strong but not this strong!, its funny how other people view us, I know this is very little and not worthy of praise but the fact Nigerians are this strong should be a bit comforting. Nigerians are "seven feet" tall, are "huge and aggressive" and it needs anywhere between two to 10 Goa Police personnel to tackle each of them. That's why, says Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, the police could not reign in an irate mob of Nigerians that blocked a key highway, beat up policemen and vandalised a police van after one of their compatriots was found murdered. "They are huge and aggressive. Some of them are seven feet tall. It would take at least 100 of our policemen to handle a crowd of 50 Nigerians," Parrikar told reporters, when he was asked why the police force did not make any effort for nearly an hour to clear National Highway-17 that was blocked Thursday by bare-torsoed, muscled Nigerians armed with hockey sticks, bamboos and knives. The Nigerians were demanding that the autopsy on the deceased Obinna Obiwesi be conducted in the presence of the Nigerian ambassador in India. The murder, the Nigerian protestors claimed, had been committed by a gang called Chapora boys, a notorious underground drug mafia operating in north Goa, and the police had been unwilling to act against the alleged murderers, who were locals. They blocked the highway by dumping the corpse bang in the middle of the road after smashing open the police hearse and extracting the body from it. The brazen manner in which Goa Police officers were cowered down in public by a group of 50 well-built Nigerians (the mob later swelled to nearly 200) and Parrikar's continued dogged defence of the state police has evoked an extremely strong reaction in the social media as well as among people across sections. The mob not only threatened and warded off over 20 policemen, including Superintendent of Police (North) Priyanka Kashyap, but also told the latter off in a verbal duel. The intimidation was such that Parrikar, himself claimed that he saw one "herculesque Nigerian" who he believed would need 10 Goa policemen to control. - See more at: http://todaysgist..in/2013/11/it-will-take-10-policemen-to-handle-1.html#sthash.mS5PnAw0.Yw0JiT5Z.dpuf

A 50-year old man, Wale Akanusi, who turned his daughter to a sex slave for five years, was arraigned Thursday before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, southwest Nigeria. The man allegedly began to defile his daughter, who is now 17 years old, when she was 12 years old, in their Ojo home in Lagos. The victim (name withheld) herself revealed how her father turned her into a sex slave for five years. She revealed that her father impregnated her three times and aborted the pregnancies to cover up his act. The girl told the police that she was turned to a sex slave by Akanusi from 2007 to 2012 and the enslavement ended early this year when she was rescued by the Lagos State Government. The victim said she suffered the fate after her mother left her father and got married to another man. She said her father did not re-marry again and relied on her for his sexual satisfaction which she could not resist because of fear. According to her, “my mom left my dad and got married to another man and after sometime my dad started pestering me for sex at the age of 12 and got me impregnated and forced me to carry out abortion three times.” She said Akanusi warned her not to tell anybody otherwise he would kill her. She said when she was growing older and she began to realize what was happening to her, she became afraid and restless. She said this continued until she summoned courage and went to the police station to report the matter. The police arrested her father, rescued her and she is now in the care of the Lagos State welfare department. According to a police source, Akanusi ensured that the victim stayed away from neighbours and her friends and warned her not disclose what was going on between them at their Ojo home in Lagos. Akanusi is facing a two-count charge of defilement by sleeping with the victim and killing of unborn babies. When he was arraigned, his plea was not taken. The presiding Magistrate, Mr O.I. Adelaja ordered him to be remanded in prison custody pending the amendment of the criminal charge against him. The matter was adjourned till 27 November, 2013 for trial. http://247nigerianewsupdate.com/father-turns-daughter-to-sex-machine-for-5yrs-in-lagos-3-pregnancies-aborted/ |

Kokomaster Dbanj was supposed to storm and take over Zimbabwe last weekend at the Lion Lager Summer Beer Festival dubbed the “Battle of Africa” but according to reports from Zimbabwe, our man delivered a very lukewarm performance that eventually had him booed off stage. According to AllAfrica, the festival featured Ugandan reggae musician Bebe Cool and local dancehall artistes Winky D, Guspy Warrior and King Shaddy. D’Banj represented West Africa while Bebe Cool represented East Africa. D’Banj was the main attraction and when it was turn for him to perform, he exploded onto the stage amid pomp and zest but soon fizzled out and slumped into near- pornography with some fans. He ran out of steam after exhausting his familiar songs in less than an hour and went into what many revellers described as “hogwash”. His opening song was “Fall in Love”, followed by “Oliver Twist”, “Kukere” remix, “Don’t Tell Me Nonsense”, “Igwe” and “Why Me”. Then he lost the plot. Neither his scantily dressed dancers nor his swag was enough to sway the majority of the crowd that became visibly restless and disappointed. So disappointing was his performance that he resorted to X-rated antics with ladies he calls “Kokolates” on the stage, in a bid to kill time. Among the “Kokolates” was songstress Ammara Brown, who jumped on stage and joined in the dirty dancing. “Let me see all my Kokolates on stage, now shake your boom boom and do the catwalk,” he said, amid boos from the crowd, especially men. Some disgruntled fans hurled insults and obscenities. D’Banj failed to impress and was the opposite of the Nigerian twins P-Square who performed at the same festival last year and left fans asking for more. P-Square were even barred from leaving the stage by fans who craved for more. “This guy should not have been the main act at the show. He has a few hit songs we know that he has performed. Now look at how he is whiling up the remaining time with the ladies,” said a fan in the crowd.

But he needs help to go to school By TESSY IGOMULooks can be deceptive, so goes the saying. In the case of 27-year-old Hillary Promise Chigozie, this seems exceptionally true. His petite frame and unassuming demeanour can easily make one dismiss him with a wave of the hand as having nothing to offer. But underneath that mien is a young man packed full with innovation and creativity. He is an inventor – and a talented one at that. At the snap of a finger, Promise can construct anything and make it operational. He has constructed a remote controlled ship, an aeroplane and several types of automobile using locally sourced materials. Through ingenuity and hindsight, he has produced bio-fuel, which according to him, could be an asset to any petrochemical company. However, this young man who hails from Nbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State is sad and angry. This is because his dream of becoming an aeronautic engineer is gradually becoming a mirage. For him, this is a dream that must be actualized because from age 5, he has nursed, lived and breathed it. According to him, his first try at what he terms ‘naive engineering construction’ was done with pear fruits which he used to build an aircraft. Later, he graduated into using wood, Tura and Maclean tubes to construct all types of aeroplane and cars. At 13, he used zinc to construct an aeroplane that used kerosene as combustion to fly. To achieve this feat, he regaled the reporter with a compelling story of how he caught a bird and studied how it flew and landed for two months. Having tried his hand on various constructions and achieving results, Promise felt it was time to actualise his dream by studying to become a professional. This made him apply to study “Airframe and Power Plant in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) in Nigeria College of Aviation Technology, Zaria. Having written the entrance examination, which he described as tense, alongside candidates from other African countries, Promise passed and was offered a provisional admission, with classes to commence on June 7, 2013. But with the cost of the programme, including accommodation and feeding totalling two million five hundred and six naira (N2, 506, 000), Promise is distraught that his dream might just die a natural death, as his parents are financially incapable to support him. “The admission came to me and my family as a miracle and above all, it was a dream come true. My community was thrown into a joyous celebration at witnessing the rise of an aeronautic engineer and pilot. I had started seeing myself completing my training and working in my fatherland as well as using my career to touch lives. But it’s like this might not be possible,” he said. As the first child in a family of seven and born to a father who can barely feed the family with the paltry sum he makes as a taxi driver, Promise realised that help can only come from well meaning individuals. This then, made him to turn to friends, family and community leaders for help. Though, he admitted getting favourable response from some kind-hearted individuals, he noted that their efforts could hardly do much. “All my personal efforts did not yield anything. There was little they could do. One man in particular, Chikola Albright Okpara, gave me N17, 000 to buy the form for the aviation school. Another man that supported my dream and has done so much is one Mr. Daniel Nnaemeka Nnodim. But there is a limit to what they can really do. The money involved was just too much,” he said. In dire need of help and with the July 7, 2013, deadline for his admission drawing near, Promise, out of desperation, wrote a letter to the governor of his state, Owelle Rochas Okorocha through the Commissioner of Education, appealing for scholarship. The letter dated, July 2, 2013, was captioned: “Hillary Promise Chigozie and Imo State on the March to Greatness: An Urgent Appeal for Scholarship.” Along with the letter were attached pictures of different aircrafts he had designed, admission letter containing the required school fees and local government identification letter. Promise noted that the admission elapsed and there was not even an acknowledgement of the letter from the state government. Based on his inability to raise the stipulated fees, he immediately wrote the school, intimating them of his challenges and his admission was deferred to September 9, 2013. Based on this, he was prompted to write two more appeal letters dated July 10, 2013, to the Imo State governor through the Chief of Staff while the other was addressed through the Senior Technical Assistant to the Imo State Governor. Distraught at the silence that greeted his letters, Promise again reverted to the school for help, telling them of his challenges. This made the school to write a letter to the Imo State government, recommending the young man for sponsorship. “Travelling to Kaduna to get the letter was not easy because I couldn’t get money for transportation. But two well meaning Nigerians that believed in me, one Dr. Paul Dike and Chikola Okpara funded my trip.” He recalled that through the help of one Bishop Titus Akanebu, he was able to give the letter to a traditional ruler in his state, Eze of Imo, HRM Eze Samuel Ohiri, who in turn helped him to deliver the letter to the Imo State government. The letter which was made available to Daily Sun, was dated July 16, 2013, with reference number: NCAT/R/ACAD/TRG/STD/VOL.1/AP-28 and was signed by one Imoh Effiong Ekeh, the academic secretary. The letter, entitled Letter of Recommendation for Sponsorship in Respect of Promise Chigozie Hillary’ partly reads: “This is to certify that the above named has been offered a provisional admission to study Airframe and Power Plant N0.28 (AP-28) in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) School of the college. The duration of the course is 120 weeks, and classes will commence from 9th of September, 2013. “The cost of the programme is N2, 506, 000 (two million five hundred and six thousand naira) only including tuition, feeding and accommodation. Please, you are to pay into the College account: Nigeria College of Aviation Technology, Zaria. Ecobank Plc Account No. 3442033538.” The letter ended by noting: “Imo State is considered to be one of the aviation friendly states in Nigeria and this student is an indigene. We are therefore confident that you will avail the state of this opportunity by training skilled manpower by sponsoring this student. I am, however, to appeal that action be expedited for payment of this course fees in good time in order to retain his place.” Despite the recommendation letter, Promise said there was no form of response from the Imo State government and the resumption time for the school elapsed. Promise noted that as a last resort, he submitted his credentials, letter of appeal for sponsorship, admission letter, as well as the pictures of the various aircrafts he designed to virtually all the airlines in the country, but none has responded. Presently, the downcast young man is appealing for help from kindhearted Nigerians, the state or federal government to achieve his dream and use his creativity to attract fame, as well as accolades to the nation. His words: “With the little I have, I have built a robot that can move but can’t speak. If I am able to achieve my dream, through the grace of God, I will bring pride to this nation. We have many talents that are wasting and mine should not be allowed to die like that. The same way people in the western world come out with innovation is not alien to us here. I tell you, with the right sponsorship, Nigerians can come out with better breakthroughs the world can ever imagine. For this budding talent who maintained that crime can never be a means to an end, his resolve is to make a living through legitimate means. And from him comes this heartfelt appeal, “Nigerians should help make my dream a reality. Please give me a chance to become useful in life.”

Gov. Aliyu’s Dance Of Shame: His Dirty Deal With Zenith Bank Exposed, Why He Is Fighting Jonathan, To Stop EFCC Like fuji House of Commotion, Amaka Igwe’s epic on national television, the house of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, seems in irreversible disarray. But the trouble this time, has nothing to do with the visit of the rebel group to the National Assembly, penultimate week, it is the embattled governor of Niger state, Aliyu Mu’azu ,the rabble rousing , political gadfly of Niger state. It is the rolling stone that may consume one of the pillars of the G-7 rebel governors, Aliyu Babangida, if President Goodluck Jonathan, refused to yield to one of their demands, that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commissions, EFCC should not investigate the sordid mess and cesspool of corruptions in their respective states. Coming in the dying days of his governorship, obviously Aliyu Mu’azu did not wish, after he might have left office, to carry the cross that is now his lot. In fact , if he ever wished anything after his tour of Government House, Minna, it is to move to the National Assembly, as a senator. But all these are now in the past and no longer features as parts of Aliyu’s worries. Though, Mu’azu, allegedly worked hard to cover his tracks, by commissioning of nonexistent projects, like the Zuma Rock Resort centre and the Minna Five- Star Hotels, he did not, however, envisage that only a few months to the end of his tenure , he would be at the centre of high wire sleaze scandal, that is currently rocking the state. Indeed, in a document entitled HR.NO.10 2008/2009-Resolution Granting Approval to the Executive Governor Of Niger state, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu,OON, To Enable him obtain N=6billion bond facilities in favourof Niger state Government” Dated Tuesday,11 Day of November, 2008. Signed by Pharm.MM Alkali., Honourable Speaker and Mohammed A. Rijau, Permanent Secretary/ Clerk, partly stated Thus; “Whereas: The Government of Niger State is committed to the provision of infrastructural development for the purpose of enhancing the welfare and well being of our people, the state Government after due consideration and consultations with the stakeholders and indeed purposeful deliberations by the state Executive Council came into conclusion that the available source is to seek for loan facility from the capital market through a bond; after the conclusion therefore, the state Government in partnership with Zenith Bank PLC arranged to obtain a loan facilitity of N=6billion from the capital market” It stated. As strange as the N-6billion bond from the Zenith Bank, was not tied to any projects in the state the speed with which the Niger state gave the approval, has raised more hypothetical questions, than answer as what the bond was meant for and how it will be monitored. Said our source. On December, 12 2008, the Niger state Ministry of Finance, wrote to the Minister of Finance informing the Ministry of the deductions from the monthly Federal allocations to the state. In the letter entitled “Irrevocable Standing order, for deduction from the Account of Niger state Government in respect of N=6billion infrastructural Development Projects Bond” signed by Aminu Yusuf, Commissioner for finance, Abubakar Tukur, Accountant General, Engr. Sani Ndanusa, commissioner for Transport and infrastructure and Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, the state Government instructed the Federal Ministry, to make a monthly deduction of N=142,377,502.73. With commencement date of January, 2009, with tenor of 60 months. The letter further directed thus “The Niger state Government hereby gives to the Federal Ministry of Finance an irrevocable standing payment Order (ISPO) to deduct from the state statutory Allocation the principal sum and interest (COUPON) as per the attached scheduled and pay same to the Account of Zenith Trust Company Ltd/ Niger state infrasture Development Bond Account No. 6013808602. While to the ordinary observers, obtaining loans and Bond facility by Government and its agencies, appear normal, the frequency and applications of such loan has made a dog breakfast of the rule of engagement in such exercise in Niger state. In may 2007, under a purported priority to give the state a face-lift the Aliyu Mu’azu, administration had in a similar move gone to the Capital market to collect N=9 billion bond to embark on same projects. “By the end of his tenure Aliyu would probably leave Niger state with the highest debt portfolio, with little ornothing to show for it”said a state ministry official in the state. Documents exclusively obtained by this medium, showing states balances as at May 1995 and the summary of first line deductions, show that Niger state rescheduled London Club stands at N=525,728,963.28, while deductions from first line charge June 1995- March 2002 stood at N=9,953,544,430.42. With Niger state coming second after Ondo state as the most indebted state. Documents obtained from the treasury department Minna, revealed that bond rather than been deplored for the purpose are used to funds personal interest For instance, the state Government was issued a Zenith Bank cheque No.6013803248, for the payment of his elections litigation bills in the sum of N=82,796,000. The state Government claimed the Niger state House of Assembly received an invitation to the 56 CPA international and the CPA regional conferences holding in Nairobi Kenya on September 10-19, 2010 and South Africa July 24-31 2010 respectively. For these legislative adventures, the House submitted a bill of over N=49,000,000,00 for the two trips Dr. Muhammud K Yahaya, secretary to the Niger state Government, claimed that “The two rips as detailed on pages 189-190 of file. Ater a careful scrutiny, however, recommended N=42,000,000.00 to cover the expenses for the two trips. The Chief Servant may wish to consider and approve the total sum of 42,000,000,00 only for the two trips, please” Yahaya states in his memo to the governor. The letter was dated August,7,2010, three days, after, Mu’azu through the Commissioner for Finance approved the 42,000,000,00 for the jamboree. Curiously, on August, 13, 2010, barely a week after the controversial approval for the Kenya “trip” the SSG, Mr. Yahaya, in another memo obtained by our reporter, requested for another N=23,269,890.00 for a purported medical trip for the state Chief Judge, Justice Jibrin Ndajiwo. In the memo the SSG states that ”His Lordship, the Chief Judge of Niger state, Justice Jibrin Ndajiwo, has been given appointment for a comprehensive medical treatment at the Fairfield Independent Hospital. Merseyside, United Kingdom. His Lordship will be accompanied on this trip by his wife, Hajiya Asta H. Ndajiwo as aide and who shall undergo FULL medical check up at the same Hospital. His Lordship is requesting for Funds for the medical bills, travels and sundry expenses for himself and his wife totaling N=23,269,890.00” The expenses were approved barely twenty four hours, for a trip that our source claimed was never made. Contacted through his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Mr. Emma Maku Eti, Governor Aliyu, in his standard response described the allegations as “recycled documents” It is a recycled documents, they want to extort money from me” he said Not even the several calls to his Chief press Secretary, Danladi Ndayebo, could yield much. The Chief press secretary in his usual characteristics refused to respond to the allegations two weeks after persistent calls and SMS to his cell phone.

The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) yesterday said the Aviation Ministry has marginalized the northern airports by design to the extent that there are no international flights there. ACF’s National Publicity Secretary Anthony N. Z. Sani said in a statement that the three organs of ACF, namely, the National Working Committee (NWC), The National Executive Council (NEC) and the Board of Trustees (BOT), held their separate meetings on September 24th, 25th and 26th, 2013, respectively. The three meetings were well attended by members. While Alhaji Aliko Mohammed chaired the first two meetings, Retired Lt Gen JT Useni chaired that of BOT. Many issues of national importance were discussed in the meetings including “the marginalization of the northern part of the country in air travels. There is also evidence that fewer northerners are getting jobs and deployment in parastatals of Ministry of Aviation and in the management of airports in the country. “As things stand now, there are no international flights in the north except Abuja. The ACF, therefore, urged relevant authorities and Fedral Ministry of Aviation to also improve the aviation industry in the North. This is good for the interest of the growth and development of the national economy.” The statement said “the meetings considered the factors militating against good conduct of free and fair elections over the years and still insisted that INEC should conduct all five elections on the same day. It is the considered opinion of ACF that such arrangement will cut cost of elections and reduce problems of logistics and do away with band wagon effects that are associated with staggered elections. If other African countries can do it, Nigeria can also do so.” The Forum commended the National Assembly for its decision to thoroughly investigate the claims and counter claims which have trailed the recent killings of suspected members of Boko Haram near the Legislative quarters Apo, Abuja among other issues. http://www.weeklytrust.com.ng/index.php/new-news/14165-acf-aviation-min-marginalizes-north |
The youngest among six children, Chief (Dr) Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma (OFR), was born into the family of Mr & Mrs Chukwuma Mojekwu of Uru-Umudim, Nnewi, in Anambra State, without the proverbial silver spoon in his mouth. But, what he lacked in affluent parental background, he made up for with intelligence, hard-work, discipline and business acumen - qualities that have continued to interplay remarkably in his many ventures. In February 2007, Chukwuma embarked on what some analysts perceived then as a mission impossible, when it incorporated INNOSON Vehicle Manufacturing Company Limited (IVM), to produce sundry commercial automobiles, utility vehicles and passenger cars, in collaboration with a consortium of Chinese auto manufacturers. With the public display of some of the vehicles at the 2nd Nnewi International Auto Trade Fair held at the Beverly Hills Hotels (Gabros Sports Complex) in the last quarter of 2009, IVM did not only silence the critics, but made a bold statement about its readiness to achieve the avowed mission of being the first (indigenous) auto maker to produce truly Nigerian vehicles that are affordable and reliable. IVM is today a success story which has attracted effusive commendations and awards from various quarters, including the nation's seat of power. While opening the plant on October 15, 2010, President Goodluck Jonathan not only hailed Chukwuma for the courage of venturing into an industry many ran away from, but also assured him of government's patronage from the government. But even before the President's visit, IVM had attracted an official delegation from the Ghanaian government, which through a minister, dangled incentives before Chukwuma with an appeal to come over to Accra for talks on how he could set up a similar plant in the former Gold Coast. check out this exclusive video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ukk42wLeVpI |
In all sincerity, i think the igbos are the largest single ethnic group in Nigeria followed by the Yorubas. These igbos are just too much, they are everywhere. they have the largest diaspora by any single ethnic group in Africa. There is no where in the world you don't see them in multitude, that is why most of the crimes committed by Nigerians home/abroad are mostly the igbos.it is not because they are more criminal minded but because of their share number, couple with the fact that they are hustlers, they tend to also compete and in some cases dominate and achieve success than people the host community which is the soul cause of the resentment many non igbo have towards the igbos and also other Africans have towards Nigerians(because igbos are Nigerians and not igbos outside Nigeria). To be frank, whatever identity we as Nigerians have abroad especially among the African countries, i bet you, it is the identity of the igbos and i say this with no contradiction.Atleast in some west, central and east african countries they always think Nigeria is Igbo.especially Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Kenya,Gambia. those that have been there you will understand better And again I dont think Nigeria is up to 170million as they want us to believe. we may be the most populous in Africa but i still find it hard to believe we are 170million. we shouldn't be more than 120million.My personal opinion though |
