This is the road which about 300 used car parts dealers (Ndi-Mgbuka) get to their shops behind Cheshire home, Orlu, as Okorocha govt buids 10-lane streets in Owerri.

The people of Imo were given the opportunity to express themselves on may 29 on TV and question the governor, why didn't they do that if Okorocha was truly lying about his works in all of Imo state?
You expect say, the teachers and students of Girls Secondary School Orlu should come before the TV and ask Rochas to complete this road to their school scrapped and abandoned since 2013? A contractor spent close to N50 million repairing the 1.6km road, but abandoned.

You mean Uche Nwosu, the chap from Nkwerre lga who wants to succeed Gov Okorocha?

Okorocha destroyed Nwosu's chances at Orlu area due to Okorocha's hostilities to Orlu area.

His lga even rejected Okorocha in 2011, voted for Ohakim. Orlu Municipal made Okorocha become governor through massive votes that enabled Okorocha front Ohakim for supplementary elections. We hoped then that Okorocha would narrow the bludgeoning development gap between Owerri and Orlu. But Okorocha did his worse against Orlu.

Fcccuckoff. I am reporting from Orlu right now.

Since I was born, I have never seen Umuna Road at the centre of Orlu without asphalt. But last February, Okorocha govt came and scrapped the road, it has remained without asphalt since then. Imagine scrapping the asphalt on Wethrel Road Owerri since February.

Imo state after 43 years of its creation can only boast of Owerri for a modern place, blind people like you give impetus to governors who do window dressing development of Owerri, you praise them, while they disappear with funds that should have gone for development of rest of the 25 lgas of Imo state outside Owerri. What makes you think I shall come here to tell lies about Rochas deeds and misdeeds as governor of Imo state?
PoliticsRe: Few Pics From Imo State by mandax: 12:17pm On Jul 10, 2018
Most unimaginable: Successive govts of Imo state and private individuals and organisations must have invested close to 15 billion to establish this Imo state University Teaching Hospital in Orlu.

The road to the teaching Hospital has remained dilapidated since Rochas Okorocha became governor till today. Even the main access road to the hospital from Nkwume junction on Owerri-Orlu road was scrapped since 2012 and abandoned till today.
What manner of state governor would do that?

nnamdijonathan asked: "What of the ongoing construction of an 18 storey hotel in Okigwe of which they have gotten to the 5th floor and are still building?"

This is Orlu's version of the Okigwe Hotel, Princess Hotel.

Foundation stone was laid by then Speaker Uwajumogu for Prince Hotel, Orlu - that's all since then'.

I ask, what governor in his right judgement would build a stadium and Hotel in Okigwe without building similar things in Orlu, given the urbanization and population levels of Okigwe and Orlu?

This is Umusassa Street at the centre of Orlu. Scores of inner streets in Orlu are like this.
Gov Amadi Ikwechegh started to asphalt these streets bu the job was stopped immediately Ikwecjhegh was transfered from Owerri. Udenwa asphalted some of the streets.

Okorocha govt dualized about 5km of existing principal roads in Orlu, placed street lamps on some.

These are the remains of the seats in the old Orlu stadium after 7 years gov Okorocha removed the roofs of the stadium. The floodlights also went disused due to long abandonment. Last year, new roofs not too better than the old roofs were put.

After watching the IMO state governor media chat which was shown life on Channels TV, the governor was made to tell the people his achievements in the last 7 seven years and there were also pictorial evidences to show the level of transformation that occurred in Imo state. People also asked the governor several questions and all the representative from all the senatorial districts were there to confirm if he was lying or not. From that program, an unbiased and truthful person will know that Okorocha did not marginalize any part of Imo state. There were several projects that were done in Orlu and Okigwe.
The thing I have noticed here is that you don't like Okorocha that is why everything he does annoys you. If you don't have current pictorial evidences to prove to us that the Okorocha neglected other parts of IMO state, you should just get the Bleep out of this trend because you are beginning to sound like a sadist. How can you tell me that you have not seen the new roads constructed in Okigwe and Orlu? The governor constructed up to 50 km of roads in each LG and they were shown in pictures and this one is here blabbing nonsense. What of the 25,000 capacity stadium in Okigwe and the almost completed stadium in Orlu? What of the new markets constructed in Orlu and Okigwe? What of the ongoing construction of an 18 storey hotel in Okigwe of which they have gotten to the 5th floor and are still building? Do you want to tell me that all the over 455 primary and secondary schools which were constructed in Imo state by Okorocha were constructed in only Owerri? what of the 27 general hospitals, were they all constructed also in Owerri? If you want Orlu to look like Owerri, why don't you start by constructing at least 3 hotels in Orlu so that other investors can queue in and continue building casinos and so on, or you also want to tell me that it was Okorocha that constructed all the buildings in Owerri? As I said before, if you don't have recent pictures of Orlu and Okigwe to backup your claims, don't ever criticize Okorocha again and please don't bring back those stupid pictures of Orlu from 2010 and post them here because that is what you have been doing since you started viewing this trend.
Facts and Photos speak louder than propaganda of falsehood. You guys continue to deceive Gov Okorocha till you ease him out of office.

I show you pictures of some of the landmark roads and inner streets (there are scores of them) in Orlu Municipal lga scrapped and abandoned by Okorocha govt since 2012.

This street leads from Orlu Lg HQs roundabout to Carrot Junction on Umuna Street, scrapped since 2012.

I'm not saying that development should only be centered in Owerri. I mentioned Owerri because it was where i stayed and know about. it is also the most important town in Imo state and i crave the day when we will have a city to be proud of and i pray Owerri achieved that in this generation.
Govt to build Owerri as a city that IMO PEOPLE shall be proud of:

this is same old deception, parochialism and disingenuous traits.

Fact is : it shall never come to pass when an average Orlu or Okigwe man shall be proud of Owerri as his city while his hometown of Orlu or Okigwe remains abandoned by government as they are now.

Take for example, Orlu where I know better than Owerri:

scores of inner streets crowded by humans are unpaved. The most important roads leading to the international market, to Orlu Girls Secondary School, to TESAC, teaching hospital, used car parts market, etc. have been eyesores for seven years.

After Okorocha finished his Owerri ten lane streets, people thought he would asphalt the two lane inner streets in Orlu and Okigwe.

Enugu state once had this similar problem of one city state as Imo state.

But in 2011, rest of Enugu state conceded the ever wailing Nsukka zone to produce governor for the state.

Since then, Nsukka has been modernised, inner streets asphalted and urban drainage built. Enugu state now boasts of two beautiful cities.

In Imo state, Okorocha was elected for a similar purpose to make Imo state have more cities to be proud of outside Owerri.

Unfortunately, we have seen Okorocha balloon the development gap between Owerri and other towns in Imo state.
Yet some parochial people encourage Okorocha to continue with Imo having only Owerri as the modern spot in Imo state.
Politically, apolitical Rochas Okorocha may pay dearly for his Owerri-only development policy.

Afam4eva:
I just came back from Owerri and this time, i was opportune to comprehensively tour the city as well as some other parts of the state. We were taken to see some ongoing projects by the Governor, Rochas Okorocha, also accompanied by the Inspector General of Police. I visited the Rochas foundation for both African and Nigerian students. I also went to the newly built but ongoing Eastern Palm University. The road, to Orlu/Ideato is completely smooth save for a few spots and i think the Governor has done well in that regard. The police headquarters under construction will be one of the biggest in Nigeria when completed. I also commend the governor for that.

But I think i now have a complete understanding of what the problems in Owerri and Igboland is.

There's a problem of roads in Owerri even in the highbrow or popular areas. Take Control junction for example, there's no reason why that place shoud not have an excellent tarred road considering the fact that it's the gateway to Owerri if you're coming from the Onitsha axis. It's the same story in almost every part of the capital. Even the government house has it's own fair share of bad roads. How much more where you have FUTO and Nekede, especially where you have the poly. The road is extremely bad. Should we talk about Owerri inner streets, that despite the decent buildings have no roads whatsoever.

If any government wants to change Owerri forever, they should just focus on massive road construction in every nook and cranny of the capital.
Read your post again, especially concerning inner city streets. The purpose of your post is for IMSG to asphalt what is left of the inner streets of Owerri. It never occurred to you there are inner streets in Orlu and Okigwe.

You are conveying the falsehood that in Imo state, Owerri is the only town where people live in large numbers, therefore deserves government attention.

But truth is:
if there are about 900,000 inhabitants of Owerri capital territory,

Orlu has about 450,000

Okigwe has about 300,000.

Imo state can't continue to have all its eggs in one Owerri basket, as a most parochial and disingenuous group wants it to continue to have it

1) Were are these Projects located?

5) Were are local council and local Governments located within Imo state or were?
6) As crazy as you think Okorocha is, Do you think that he will just wake up every morning and start spending without a set down program?
7) Mention the most critical issues restricting the state Imo state from accelerated developments and generating higher revenue internally?
Your question No.6.

Answer: In Imo state's annual budget, building FEDERAL prisons and police barracks were not, and could not have been reflected. It's therefore an impeachable offence the use of state funds to build FEDERAL prisons and police barracks.

Question No 5.

The 27 local councils of Imo state are not all located in Owerri capital territory; only 2 to 3 councils are.
Therefore it's a gross violation of government procedures and an impeachable offence, to use allocations meant for the other 24 Lgas to build infrastructure in Owerri capital territory.

Question 7

Answer.
Pipe borne water and good roads all round the state are crucial for economic development of Imo state.

But gov Okorocha does not address these two important subjects.

Biko hapum aka.

There are ways rational people discuss issues other than talking about war up and down.

My family lost so much in the civil war, and I will resist any senseless attempt to drag my people into another round of avoidable war.

Go on Vanguard Newspaper or google the well-researched article Senator Ike Ekweremadu wrote about how to pursue freedom.

Read it and sensitize those warmongers.

Our topmost priority should be how to protect our peoples in our local communities from the marauders, not suggesting that there's going to be war.

Some of you guys are overseas suggesting that war is coming in Nigeria...because you won't be affected

You lots don't seem to have learned from the civil war of 1966, so, apparently, you want a repeat of it. Azhigbakwa!

Nigeria is having issues, no doubt, but suggesting that there's an imminent war is something I will definitely resist because war isn't ever going to happen!

As regards Rochas, go through my comments here and see where I hauled him over the coals several times. Yes, my assessment of his administration is objective even though my people aren’t benefiting from his government either.

That said, I firmly believe that Imo is our state, any development in Owerri or anywhere else for that matter is a welcome development.

But you lads from Orlu seem to rant (I am afraid it's true!) the most, forgetting that your people have been in power for nearly 12 years. Ohakim, our ineffective governor, wasted our four years in power, yet we don't shed crocodile tears here, like you Orlu chaps.

Udo diri gi
You don't accept that Nigeria is already at war, (you called it issues) because the war is not fought in your door mouth in your comfort zone outside the east side of Nigeria. Selfishhuh
Don't let those who have lost men and wealth in the ongoing war hear you.

You suggested the Igbo prepare to protect its people from the marauders. But the marauders are fully armed - lock, stock and barrel. How do you stop them without war against them?? Run to the UN??
The Deputy Secretary General of the UN is a Fulani lady. It's like what is going on in the country is programmed. Wake up. Many of us have landed property outside the east of Nigeria.

SoNature,

You gag, you censure.

But FYI
When people feel caged, there is no limit to where they discuss freedom.

Without having Igbo as president of Nigeria, the economic, political, cultural, and social advancement of the Igbo tribe must remain stunted. Nigeria's growth remains equally stunted.

Nigeria was politically restructured by northern Nigeria's soldiers to exclude the Igbo and other minorities from the country's presidential position. (GEJ Presidency was an aberration).

You may be happy over Nigeria as it is, but in future, your offspring cannot.

Bottom line:
I am aware you want only Okorocha's development projects in Owerri here.

I am also aware you are most pained when ever anyone laments over Gov. Okorocha's macabre dance in Orlu.
But be informed: everybody must not become like SoNature.
