President Buhari can't convince a child in the kindergarten that he was not privy to armed DSS men blocking the entrance to the National Assembly - the power house of the masses.

If Nigeria is a western world country, Pres. Buhari has lost it all today, lost the faith of the people in him to uphold democracy, which he swore on oath to uphold.

By now, Buhari ought to have resigned or be impeached. The DSS boss was Buhari's appointee. The DSS boss answers to Buhari.

Lol! You'll always find them cursing Lord Luggard for bringing together people who have nothing in common, hence creating a so-called disastrous union which had always been an inevitable catastrophe waiting to happen.

Alas! Their very own kinsmen were party, to a quite significant degree, to the that "abomination" of an excercise.

I earnestly 'anticipate' grin the imprecations awaiting Mr Azikiwe from angry, 'marginilized' Igbos. But of course, I can see already the usual penchant for chest-beating and bigging one's self up, no matter how dishonest, on display. A clown took the unparalleled stupidity a step further and asserted, or may I say authoritatively declared, that "NIGERIA CANNEVER WORK WITHOUT IGBOS". Perhaps, someone need inform the fool that we have a very different idea of a working Nigeria from what lunatics assume.

You will never get a more accurate definition of confusion.
Guy, your own idea of a working country must be different from an average European's Asian's or Mideast's idea of a working country.

FYI, Igbo is the largest or second largest ethnic group in Nigeria. So this Nigeria which you agree marginalizes the Igbo now is as good as a dead country. No country which marginalizes its largest or second largest and most educated ethnic group survives. Don't you see how your Buhari chose his cabinet without any Igbo occupying any good position? See how Buhari chose Nigeria's Security cabinet without any Igbo. Sillyhuhhuh?.

The gentleman sitting to the right of Lord Frederick Lugard in this picture (see below) is Obed-Edom Chukwuemeka Azikiwe.

He’s the father of Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, the last Governor-General and first President of Nigeria.

Obed-Edom Azikiwe was a very influential member of Lugard’s administration.

You can see from the photo how highly Lugard regarded him.

More About Zik’s Father
Obed Edom Azikiwe was Lord Lugard’s private secretary.

Sadly, he passed on in 1958, two years before Nigeria’s independence, at the age of 78.

Undoubtedly, he would have loved to see his son Zik sworn in as Nigeria’s first Head of State. But fate had a different plan.

Peace Through Negotiations
It was Obed-Edom Chukwuemeka Azikiwe that drafted – and humanised in accordance with his abillity – all the treaties Lugard signed with our traditional rulers.

He it was that drafted treaty Lugard signed with the Obong of Calabar, the Sultan of Sokoto, the Oba of Benin, the Alaafin of Oyo that came before Lugard amalgamated Nigeria.

Historians have suggested that Azikiwe softened the harshness of many of these treaties.

By so doing, he is said to have prevented bloody wars between the British and Nigerian groups by not only softening the harshness of the protectorate agreements, but also persuading both Lugard and powerful Nigerian traditional rulers to come to agreement.

Speaking on the issue, a history expert, Omoluabi Olayomi Koiki, suggested that these traditional rulers must have been happy to sign once Mr Azikiwe presented the agreements to them. They seemed to have a lot of trust in Mr Azikiwe.

The only traditional ruler who flagrantly refused to sign any treaty unless the phrase “protection” was explained to him was Mazi Jubo Juboha, also known as Jaja of Opobo.

Obed-Edom Azikiwe was based in Lugard’s head office at Zungeru. Zungeru was Nigeria’s amalgamation capital.

Zungeru was then what Abuja is to Nigeria today.

And Lugard’s office was the colonial version of Aso Rock.

The senior Azikiwe’s job can be summarised as negotiating to prevent or reduce violence between colonial Britain and Nigerian kingdoms.

Obed-Edom Azikiwe should be thanked and honoured for his work in preventing or ending wars between the colonial masters and powerful Nigerian kingdoms.

He was a master negotiator who seemed to have the trust of both Lord Lugard and our powerful traditional rulers.

And he used that influence to bring about peace. Had he not been there, you can imagine…

He didn’t succeed in all his efforts. And his son the Zik of Africa used a very different approach that together with the efforts of our founding fathers and.the Zikist Movement persuaded the British to grant Nigeria independence. But clearly, he was a father of Nigeria in his own time.

Onitsha used to be the only productive city in Anambra until natives of Anambra started developing Awka and Nnewi. Today Nnewi is known as the Industrial hub of the state, Awka is the hospitality hub of the state unlike before when everything used to be Onitsha. You guys that are complaining should start developing Orlu and Okigwe so that both cities will be known for something rather than making noise up and down and blaming Okorocha. Owerri is already known as the capital of IMO state and the hospitality hub of the state, you guys should make Orlu the Industrial hub and Okigwe should be made the Sport hub or Agricultural hub and don't tell me that it is not possible because as we speak, Ifeanyi Uba ( just one person and he is not even in government ) is turning Ekwulobia to the sport hub of Anambra by constructing the biggest sports centre in the SE in Ekwulobia. If you guys can start the development, other investors will come in and Owerri will have 2 main competitors in Imo state. Okorocha has already started building the commercial and tourism sectors of other parts of Imo state by constructing a new mechanical/spare parts market in Orlu, new stadium in Okigwe, On going stadium in Orlu, an 18 story hotel in Okigwe which will be the tallest hotel in the entire South east and Nigeria and is currently at the 5th floor amongst other projects like the 2 flyovers, main roads, new pry & sec schools, new general hospitals etc.
This dud is out of touch and nauseating.

This dud wants Orlu and Okigwe people to develop their areas while Okorocha continues to develop Owerri with the federal allocations of Orlu and Okigwe, because Owerri is state capital - typical policy of a lousy lot and Abagworo/Okorocha govt.

Mechanical/Spare parts market built by Okorocha in Orlu? It does not exist.

Stadium being built in Orlu by Okorocha govt? Since 2013, worked stopped on the dwarf wall level on the stadium site.

Owerri needs to continue building on their tourism niche. Eventually, they will get there even though it may not look impressive now.

But most importantly, Imo state's economy needs to be diversified. They need to supplement their budding tourism industry with agriculture, agro processing, heavy and light industry, trade and commerce.

There needs to be special industrial zones mapped out in Owerri, Orlu and Okigwe which will be supported with government incentives.

I heard innoson has acquired 100,000 square meters of land on the outskirts of Owerri, near the airport to build his brand new factory.

We need more of this happening. I believe other industrialist will follow but Imo state government needs to be very serious.
Lol. Retrogression in Imo state?

Mbakwe govt acquired three industrial zones in Oweri, Orlu and OKigwe, but who talks about them again in Imo?. Imo state has been retrogressing economically since Abia state was carved out from old Imo state, and Owerri people had a secrete meeting that no development project of Imo state govt must be located beyond Owerri zone again. It was the aftermath of new Imo state dragging ownership of old IMSU with Abia state when Abia was carved out of old Imo state. Abia won the old IMSU.

Thereafter, Owerri-born then governor of Imo state, Evan(s) Enwerem, had to locate IMSU in a dilapidated school building in Owerri, despite the existence of a refurbished and larger university infrastructure in Orlu, at the closed Orlu Campus of AICE, despite that FUTO, PolyNekede and AICE existed in Owerri.

Today, development in Imo state is all about a governor collecting the state and lga allocations to build Owerri - industry is not it.

MADUMERE’S IMPEACHMENT; IMO LAWMAKERS DARE JUDICIARY, IGNORE COURT RULING *Orders Clerk To Issue Notice To Dep Gov Through Publication

Posted by admin on Jul 16th, 2018.

By Onyinyechi Amakaulo

In a bid to properly execute their plans, the Rt Hon Acho Ihim led Members of the Imo State House of Assembly surprisingly returned to the chambers for what they tagged Special Sitting, on Monday.

Our correspondent who was at the complex and monitored proceedings during the emergency Plenary Session discovered that the lawmakers not only ignored the court order against their continued execution of the Impeachment of the Deputy Governor, but also kept mute about the ruling of the Abuja High Court.

It would be recalled that angered by what is going on in the Assembly complex where five lawmakers have been suspended and there is a serious push to remove the Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere, a citizen of the state went to court in Abuja to challenge the action of the lawmakers.

The action of the lawmakers was on the move until an Abuja High Court intervened and acted on a Motion ex-parte filed on 03/07/2018 by one Stanley Okwara seeking an Order of the Court restraining the Speaker, and the Chief Judge from initiating and exercising any action with a view to removing the governor or the Deputy Governor of Imo State without the suspended four lawmakers.

Using 16 paragraphs affidavit to support his claims, the trial judge who said that while he is cautioned not to take orders sought in the motion ex-parte so as not to “frustrate the smooth running of the Imo State House of Assembly or restraining the Honourable Chief Judge of Imo State from exercising his constitutional duties” the prayers were granted and applicant to serve the processes in the suit 1st to 6th (including the Speaker and Chief Judge) through substituted means.

The judge also ruled that parties maintain the Status Quo pending the hearing of the Motion on Notice so as not to destroy the res in the motion of notice.

The case was adjourned to November 27, 2018 for Hearing.

Trumpeta noticed on the floor of the House that the Majority Leader, Hon Lugard Osuji representing Owerri Municipal moved a motion citing Section 188 /7of the Nigeria Constitution as amended stating the process to carry out impeachment processes.

The House further states that the constitution will help them do the needful.

The Speaker further instructed the Clerk of the House to do a newspaper publications both in state and national levels as well as radio announcements and pest copy of the letter in the office of the Deputy Governor to avoid not complying with the authority of the House.

Speaker lhim also informed the Chief Judge of the State to carry out his investigation based on the committee set up early.

The house do adjourned to 28th of July 2018. This newspaper noticed that while proceedings were on, on mention was made about the Court Case.

Meanwhile, in a statement, a group has decried the action of the House. The statement reads; “The Imo State All Progressives Congress (APC) Stakeholders Forum wishes to thank the good people of Imo state for their resilience and steadfastness in standing up to the latest of Governor Rochas Okorocha’s perfidy against our collective integrity. The Forum salutes every well meaning citizen of the state who, through one medium or the other, has stood behind it in the fight against the governor’s plan to turn the state into a jungle of irrationality and brigandage, the latest of which is the planned impeachment of the deputy governor of the state, His Excellency, Prince Eze Madumere.

“The Forum wishes to assure the good people of the state that it will not relent in its efforts at ensuring that Governor Okorocha does not succeed in his grand plan to remain in office after serving his constitutionally permissible eight years, by imposing a member of his family, Mr. Uche Nwosu, on the state as the next governor.

“As the peace loving and law-abiding people of the state must have learnt, a court of competent jurisdiction has halted the planned impeachment of Prince Eze Madumere, pending the outcome of a motion on notice by a concerned citizen of the state; and that the hearing of the motion has been fixed for November 28, 2018. The court, an Abuja federal high court, also gave an order that the status quo remains pending the determination of the case.

“The Forum, however, has it on good authority that His Excellency, Governor Rochas Okorocha has directed the leadership of the Imo State House of Assembly to ignore the court order and proceed with the impeachment process. According to information from government circles, the governor assured the legislators that he is in a position to shield them from getting punished for disobeying the court order”.

http://www.imotrumpeta.com/?p=20003
About 90% of Imo legislators that signed the impeachment move are from Orlu zone.

Continuity of Okorocha/Nwosu is what they are paving the way for, But Okorocha/Nwosu concentrate more than 95% of the government's development projects in Owerri zone.

Sotay, Okorocha/Nwosu opened up another IMSU campus in Owerri. another in Okigwe zone, established a College of Education in Okigwe zone, but set up a committee headed by Acho Ihim to relocate Imo state University Teaching Hospital from Orlu to Owerri.

Tufiakwa!!!

Okorocha is waiting for Orlu votes to make Nwosu governor so that he can get enough political clout to relocate IMSUTH from Orlu to Owerri, in his bid to trade IMSUTH with Owerri, so that Owerri shall not question how Okorocha built his private Eastern Palm university while sitting as governor of Imo state. In 7 years, all the roads leading to IMSUTH have remained dilapidated, despite all pleas by stakeholders before Okorocha/Nwosu to repair the roads.

See what Okorocha's selfish ambition is doing to Orlu zone.

I don't believe they'll fail even if they're general. Orlu to Onitsha is a 1hr drive, Orlu to Aba is a 1hr drive. Orlu is the exact center of Igboland, or at least close. you can have two general markets 1 hour apart from each other and they'll both thrive. The issue is someone from the Orlu area has to drive 1 hour either way to find anything outside of village goods. That's economically crushing the center of Igboland. Even in Lagos there are major markets that are 30 mins away from each other. 15 mins.

A major market in Owerri is necessary as well, but Orlu is crucial. If you check abroad, lagos, abuja etc the bulk of people that leave Igboland are from that Orlu zone. The #1 industry in the zone is 'abroad'. And Igboland will suffer without it being lifted by a major market.
The much-vaunted Mgbidi mega-market that was much advertised by Okorocha govt, if it was ever concluded, it would have been another booster to draw the Orlu abroad toward home.
When Udenwa was establishing the Imo International Market Orlu, not many people gave the idea a chance. But today, the market is a beehive of activities, as it attracted many Orlu abroad home.

Ofodirinwa:
Imo need to open a major, easy entry market in Orlu.
Orlu zone has the densest population of people and communities in the whole of Igboland without having a major urban center. Opening a major market there will not only keep the sells put, it will also keep the buyers put. People will be able to live in their village and make a short drive to their place of work and business. I propose and electronics market because easterners are still going to Lagos to buy electronics.
Orlu area is the most densely populated in West Africa outside the urban centres. There is the booming Imo International Market in Orlu, problem is that the access roads to the market are all gone, no repairs since 7 years.

To make Orlu zone have a major urban centre was part of the reason why Orlu people massively voted Rochas Okorocha in 2011, risked what could happen if Ohakim had got re-elected.

But Okorocha instead denied urbanization expansion to Orlu, even destroyed lots of existing infrastructures here.

U are too primitive and raw get out of this plate form and go to your Dubious Senator Hope Uzodima and tell him all this your grievances . Orlu senator can solve them all in one year with his constituency project fund. Didn't u vote for Hope himhuh? COMPOUND MAGA

I wanted to refer you to your dubious senator whom you voted in to squandering his constituency project fund which can solve your worries but let me inform you a bit.Your senator can complete all these small small projects you post all the time and even do more to complement the State ok.

Government is a contentious process. Your Governor Rochas Okorocha have done Wonderfully well(world bank, UN, EU and other international organisations of repute have attested to his desire and effort to change the Narrative of Imo state at a super rapid rate as never before in the history of Africa with a low fed and state revenue. so don't hate b/c you cant stop him)

We are called a developing world or country because we still have about 70 to 100yrs to be called a completely developed world that is if All Part of Nigeria can even use the rate of speed in which Imo State is going on with development with much more higher Revenue.

What i mean is that were ever Rochas Okorocha stops his succeeding Governor which have to be his anointed candidate will continue. If Your Orlu will follow him and vote for his success. then you can go and lay your worries to the new Governor to speed up and touch those areas Ok, If not then we all start afresh with old songs of shearing the money and complain later about how bad the state is.

Okorocha uses the lga allocations of 27 lgas and Imo state to build your city Owerri; while my senator should use his salary and constituency allowance to build Orlu roads.

May Amadioha punish you a million times for saying this.

You are a typical mouthpiece of Rochas Okorocha.

ok, okorohausa is digging his own grave
impeaching two deputy governors in about five years. what does it say about the governor's character? Grudge, most vindictive and unforgiving.

Ask Orlu people how Okorocha's grudge, vindictiveness and unforgiving character led to severe underdevelopment of their hometown in 7 years.

Orlu's Imo state fire service station.

Okorocha govt decorates roofs of well-paved roads in Owerri with metal decors.
