Christiana Onyinyechi Ufomba was named the Best Graduating Student of the Faculty of Law, Abia State University in 2021 with a First Class after graduating with a Cumulative Grade Point Average of 4.58/5.0. She continued her outstanding academic streak at the Nigerian Law School, where she also graduated with First Class Honours .

Our team at Edureaders.com were opportune to have an interview session with her, in order to get into her brilliant mind. Here are some of the highlights of the interview;
Interviewer: Good afternoon, we are really glad you could make out time for this session. Without further ado, can we meet you

Christiana Ufomba: Thank you so much. My name is Christiana Onyinyechi Ufomba, I am a First Class Law graduate from Abia State University, Uturu. I recently rounded off my studies at the Nigerian Law School, Lagos Campus where i also graduated with First Class and by the grace of God, I was recently called to the Nigerian Bar.
I am from Isiala-Ngwa South Local Government Area of Abia State. I am the fifth child of Chief & Deaconess Godwin Okechukwu Ufomba.
The areas of law that interests me are Dispute Resolution, Corporate Law and Human Right. I enjoy networking and researching. I am passionate about impacting lives positively.

Interviewer: Impressive! Can you tell us a little about your school days, what were your interest, religion affiliations and how were you able to graduate with such distinction despite the obvious bottlenecks in the Nigeria University systems these days?

Christiana Ufomba: This question is loaded so I will take it bit by bit. Firstly, I will start by saying that when I started off as an undergraduate, there was no set goal as to the grade I wanted to graduate with but I knew I wanted to do my best and put in the necessary work.
Succinctly put, at the university, I lived a very balanced life. I was the Course Representative of my class for about five years. I attended every social event organized by my faculty and I studied my books at the right time as well.
Truthfully, I only found out my CGPA was about 4.51 when I was selected for a scholarship test by the Body of Senior Advocates of Nigeria {BOSAN}in my 400 level. Upon discovering that, I intensified the hard work to maintain my CGPA.
With respect to my religious affiliations, I am a Christian. I love God a lot and I acknowledge him as the fountain of my existence. When I was in the university, I was intentional about my relationship with God. I did not take part in campus fellowships, but I had a church I worshipped with which helped me greatly.
To sum it up, i was able to graduate with a first class by God’s grace. I did put in the work, I faced challenges, I almost gave up at some point especially when my grade in a 4 unit course was recorded incorrectly but I kept pushing and eventually I succeeded.

Interviewer: That was really inspiring. In your honest opinion and as one who has gone through the system successfully, what do you think can be done to have more first class graduates or at the very least brilliant graduates well equipped for the labour market?

Christiana Ufomba: Personally, I think the lecturers should be intentional about seeing that every child succeeds and this entails putting in the required work in teaching the students, giving of assignments to evaluate the level of understanding of each student, and going as far as encouraging students to put in the required work. I believe the joy of every teacher is seeing their students succeed. Thus, when the teachers are intentional about their job, it will go a long way.
Students should also be intentional. They must be willing to put in their best to get the very best regardless of the challenges they face.

Interviewer: Who are your inspirations in the legal profession?

Christiana Ufomba: {smiles} Dr. Reginald Aziza inspires me a lot because of the feats he has attained in legal profession such as being a triple First Class holder and running a scholarship scheme at a very young age.
Ebizi Eradiri Njoku Esq. who happens to be my mentor, also inspires me. She is a double first class holder and an Attorney at a Multi-National Oil Company.
Some other great minds in the legal profession that inspires me are Desmond Ogba Esq, Stanley U. Nweke Eze Esq, Doyinsola Love Kazeem Esq, Lawal Ijaodola Esq, Bukola Alada Esq, Destiny Ogedegbe Esq, Olga Okewulonu Esq, Yusuf Asamu Olalere Esq amongst others.

Interviewer: How were you able to replicate a First Class at the Nigerian Law School, having attained same feat at the University?

Christiana Ufomba: Hmm! To be honest, it was not easy. It was really hard!
Just like every other first class graduate from the university, the goal was to graduate with a first class from the Nigerian Law School. So, I made up my mind to put in the required work.

I intensified the level at which I studied. It was double the time I studied at the university. I read almost every day in Law school. I practiced my drafts, I solved past questions on weekends, as well as memorized relevant authorities. On days I felt took weak to study, I listened to my recorded notes on my phone as well as flipped through past questions.
I was so intentional in Law school. I attended every class and paid undivided attention to all that was said in class. There was so much I did, but in all God’s grace was evident in my Law school journey.

Interviewer: Before concluding this session, what Firms would you like to work in or any you greatly appreciate?

The Church of Christ has no official statement on whether or not it should be celebrated. However, the church does not celebrate Christmas because the Bible doesn't mention it, and there are no scriptural references to an annual celebration of the day Jesus was born. The story of Jesus' birth is found only in Luke 2:1-20 and Matthew 1:18-25 (and includes no reference to December 25). Further, there are numerous similarities between Christmas and pagan holidays such as Yule and Saturnalia, both celebrated around this same time of year.

The Birth Of Jesus Is Missing From The Bible

The Church of Christ believes that the birth of Jesus is missing from the Bible. The Bible does not mention his birthday, the date of his birth, nor does it even say how old he was when he died. According to the Bible, Jesus wasn't born on December 25th either.

The Bible says that Jesus was born in Bethlehem (Matt 2:1-6). The word "Bethlehem" means "house of bread", which refers to a place where priests lived back then. In ancient times, people believed that being born in such a location would give them special powers like healing or prophecy. However, there are many reasons why we know that this story isn't true:

There Are No Scriptural References To An Annual Celebration Of The Day Jesus Was Born

The Bible does not record the day Jesus was born, nor does it tell us how old he was when he died, or how old he was when he was crucified.

What we do know is that Christ’s birth occurred during a time period called “the beginning of creation” (2 Peter 3:4). That point in time is estimated by some scholars at 4 billion years ago, while others estimate it as 12 to 15 billion years ago. The Bible says nothing about an annual celebration of Christ's birth on December 25th—or any other day for that matter!

Celebrating Christmas Is Worshiping Pagan Gods

Church of Christ members believe that Christmas is not a biblical holiday because it has pagan origins. The celebration of the birth of Jesus did not occur until centuries after his death, so there are no scriptural references to an annual celebration of this day. While many people celebrate Christmas for its religious significance, and others celebrate it as a secular holiday, some may question why Church of Christ members do not observe this holiday at all.

The Bible does not record anything about an annual birthday celebration for Jesus or anyone else, much less any details about how such a celebration should be observed. We know from Luke 2:8 that Mary gave birth to baby Jesus in a stable, but we don't know when this occurred because shepherds were out tending their flocks at night (see Genesis 29:3). It is assumed by most scholars that shepherds were out in the fields at night because they had been tending them all day long; however if you've ever heard sheep bleating during daylight hours you'll understand why this assumption is problematic!

If one assumes humans have been celebrating births since before recorded history began (which seems reasonable given what we know today), then there must have been something significant about this child's birth which made him worth remembering every year afterward up until now--and yet nowhere does Scripture reveal what made him so special compared with other babies born around the same time as he was born who weren't later remembered each year by millions around world annually either."

The Church of Christ does not celebrate Christmas because it is not a biblical holiday.

The birth of Jesus is not mentioned in the Bible, and there are no biblical references to an annual celebration of the day Jesus was born. In fact, there is no mention at all of when or how he was born!

When people ask why we don't celebrate Christmas, we tell them that God never gave any instructions for us to do so. We hope this helps you understand our position on this subject better!

Conclusion

This is why our church does not celebrate Christmas. It is a pagan holiday with no biblical basis and therefore should not be celebrated by Christians.

In the bible, there are many qualities that are considered to be good wifely traits. Here are a few of the most important ones: 1. Resilience A good wife must be able to handle difficult situations and circumstances with grace. She should not be easily discouraged or upset, no matter what is going on around her. 2. Patience A good wife must have a lot of patience. She should not get emotional or angry easily, and she should be able to remain calm even in the most difficult situations. 3. Faithfulness A good wife must be faithful to her husband. This means she must be loyal and trustworthy, and she should not cheat on him or lie to him. 4. Submission A good wife must submit to her husband in all things. This means that she should not argue or compete with him, and she should let him lead the household and take decisions on behalf of the family as a whole.

The 4 Qualities of a Good Wife

If there is one overriding message that the Bible teaches about being a good wife, it is this: A good wife is someone who puts her husband's needs before her own. Like Christ, the good wife demonstrates humility, patience, and kindness. She also knows how to put aside her own desires and do what is best for her husband. Here are four qualities that make for a good wife.

1. Humility: A good wife upholds her husband's dignity by never putting him down or taking advantage of him in any way. Instead, she always looks up to him with respect and admiration.

2. Patience: A good wife always has enough patience to hear her husband out and understand his position no matter how frustrating or difficult it may be. She also understands that sometimes compromise must be made in order to maintain peace within the family unit.

3. Kindness: No matter what disagreements they may have, a good wife always strives to show compassion and love towards her husband. She will go out of her way to make things easier for him when possible and will never resort to name-calling or verbal abuse.

4. Knowledge of Her Role: Just as importantly as being a obedient spouse, a good woman knows her place in society and understands her duties as a female member of society. This includes knowing when it is appropriate to speak up against injustice and standing up for what she believes in, even if it means disagreeing with her husband


1 Loyalty

A good wife in the bible is loyal, loving, and supportive. She takes care of her husband's needs and wants him to take care of hers as well. She is honest and doesn't cheat on her husband. She is also intelligent and knows when to speak up and when to keep quiet.

2 Kindness

In the Bible, there are a number of qualities that are seen as being essential to being a good wife. These include being kind and compassionate, being patient and forgiving, and being loyal and faithful.

One of the best ways to show kindness is to always have compassion for others. When we feel compassion for another person, it can help us understand their situation better and make sure that we act in a way that is respectful and helpful. Being kind also makes relationships easier, as it creates an atmosphere of trust and cooperation.

Being patient is also important when it comes to being a good wife. Sometimes we may feel overwhelmed or frustrated by something, but if we take the time to calm down and think about what we're doing, we might be able to figure out a solution that works better for both ourselves and our partner. Patience often leads to success, so it's definitely something worth striving for!

Finally, being loyal and faithful is another key quality seen as essential in a good wife in the Bible. Loyalty means sticking by your partner through thick and thin – no matter what happens. 3 Submission

There are certain qualities that a good wife in the Bible displays. These qualities include being faithful, obedient, nurturing, and supportive. Additionally, wives must be willing to sacrificially give of themselves to their husbands and be helpful in both the spiritual and temporal domains.

One of the most important aspects of being a good wife is being faithful to one's husband. This means not only being physically present for him but also remaining loyal and supportive throughout the marriage. Wives should also endeavor to be understanding and compassionate towards their husbands when they make mistakes.

Submitting to one's husband is another key quality of a good wife. This means willingly submitting to his leadership and decisions, even if they may not agree with them initially. Wives must also make an effort to take care of their households without complaint or hesitation. In addition, they should diligently fulfill any duties that are requested of them by their husbands- even if they do not feel enthusiastic about them.

Nurturing relationships between spouses are essential for creating lasting marriages. Wives should aim to spend time with their husbands doing things that interest them outside of the home as well as engaging in thoughtful conversations with them. Additionally, wives should be warm and friendly towards their husbands despite any disagreements that may arise between them. Finally, wives must strive to show respect for their husbands regardless of how they think he might view himself- especially since this is often times how men feel respected in society today.

4 Fidelity

The Bible is full of guidance on what qualities make a wife perfect. Here are four helpful qualities to look for in a wife.

#1: Submission to Husband

Paul instructs wives in 1 Corinthians 11:3-7 to "be subject to your husbands as you are to God." This means that wives should not argue with their husbands or try to take control of the household. Instead, they should submit to their husbands' authority and do what they say without question.

This submission is essential for two reasons. First, it shows respect for husband and demonstrates that the wife expects him to provide for her and lead the household wisely. Second, it ensures that marital disagreements don't turn into arguments, which can lead to divorce.

#2: Loyalty

Another key quality for a successful marriage is loyalty. Paul tells wives in Ephesians 5:25-33 not to be unfaithful to their husbands, even if their husbands are unfaithful to them (see also Colossians 3:18-19). A 60-year- old Deeper Life Bible Church pastor, Boniface Onyekwere is to stand trial at a high court for allegedly raping a 12- year old girl in Awka, Anambra State. Already, the suspect has been remanded at a Correctional Centre in Awka pending his appearance before the court.

This is coming as the Anambra State Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs, Mrs Ify Obinabo yesterday called for the full prosecution of the suspect. Get solitude

If you want to hear the voice of God, you need to get alone with Him. You need solitude. Jesus was given by His Father a pattern for us to follow in this area. He did not accomplish anything of lasting significance in His life until He spent time alone with His Father (Luke 3:21-22). As the Holy Spirit filled him and led Him into wilderness, Jesus fasted for 40 days and 40 nights (Mark 1:12). It was during that time that He communed with the Father and heard God speak to Him. It was during those times that Jesus prayed for what God wanted Him to do on earth.

How much time is enough time? There is no set amount of time specified in Scripture, but we are encouraged in Romans 12:2 to set our minds on things above and not be conformed to this world by being transformed by the renewing of our mind through Christ.

Know your common distractions

Knowing your common distractions is the first step. For me, it's noise and motion. I've found that if there is any sound or movement, my mind has a hard time focusing on anything else. However, instead of dwelling on what I can't control (noise and motion), I change my focus to what I can control: turning off the TV and music, or sitting outside under a tree when it's quiet.

Once you've done your best to eliminate your common distractions, be still! Let go of all the things you need to do and just focus on God. Again, this may not happen in an instant for you as it did for me because we are so accustomed to doing more than simply being with God. But don't get discouraged! It's okay if it takes a while—it took me years before I could really hear God speaking to me. Remember that God is faithful; He will speak when He knows you're ready.*

Listen

To hear God's voice, you need to be still and listen. God is not going to speak audibly like a person. He speaks in a still small voice that we have to discern between our thoughts and His voice (1 Kings 19:12). I love this verse because it shows that God has a way of speaking to people that is both powerful yet gentle at the same time.

God communicates with us in many different ways. He does this through dreams, visions, the Bible, circumstances, angels and people. We can recognize God's voice if we know what His word says about who He is and what He wants for us.

Pray, listen, respond

Prayer is our primary means of communication with God. It involves asking God to speak to you and then passionately listening for his reply. It also involves responding to what you hear from him.

Shows your progress over time as a Christian. You can go back later and see when God helped heal something inside of you or showed his love to someone through you or answered a specific prayer in some way that made an impact on your life or the lives of others around you—so many things! However, the process of moving from the dominion of the flesh to the dominion of the spirit is a lifelong one, requiring all your time.

Here are some prayer points that can help you fight against your fleshly desires and move closer to God:

1) Lord, I recognize that my flesh is weak, and I surrender it completely to You for destruction.

2) As I progress throughout my day, I choose to crucify my flesh by refusing all worldly desires.

3) Help me remember that my body is a temple of the Holy Spirit and not allow myself to defile it through sin or indulgence.

4) Help me remember that I am in control of my flesh and that if I choose sin, it is of my own volition. Remind me that when I surrender to sin, it will lead only to death.

Our Father, I thank You for the grace to be a partaker of Your divine nature and glory.

Thank You for enabling me to overcome the temptations of the flesh, world, and devil.

Your Word assures me that sin shall not have dominion over me because I am not under the Law but under grace.

Your Word says that greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.

Therefore, I take my stand against every power canvassing against my Christian walk and victory.

I reject any attempt by the enemy to erect an evil structure on my path of progress and victory.

I refuse to give place to any principalities or powers. I refuse to follow after the lusts of my flesh. I reject any attempt by the enemy to use my family members or friends against me as a means of drawing me away from following you wholeheartedly.

I determine right now to crucify my flesh daily with its affections, lusts, and desires through obedience to your word.

Let’s look at this verse from a modern perspective. The phrase “heal the brokenhearted” is pretty straightforward—to heal means to make things better, especially if something is broken or hurt. To heal takes time, but it also takes effort. We have to work at it together and individually, even though healing can be very hard sometimes. It is not easy to help someone who has a broken heart and we need God’s help with that effort.

One way we can start to understand God and ourselves better is by looking for applied examples of this verse in our world today. For example, one might take up yoga or meditation as a way of making themselves feel whole again after suffering emotional heartbreak or loss. Or they might volunteer time at an animal shelter or by helping feed the homeless in their community as a way of supporting others who have experienced emotional trauma of their own and who are now hurting emotionally because they feel alone in the world.

God’s compassion is a wonderful gift from Him in times when you are hurting. He cares about your pain and He wants you to know that His compassion has no limit. There’s no such thing as running out of His grace or mercy – because it comes from an endless fountain!

We don’t have to be afraid of suffering when Christ has already suffered for us on the cross. We’re called to rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep (Romans 12:15), which means being there for each other during painful times, too. You don’t have to go through difficult seasons alone — Jesus will help you find hope even when things seem hopeless because He’s come alongside you and loves you more than anyone else ever could!

God wants to heal your broken heart. He is your comforter, the one who will help you through suffering. He is not the author of suffering, but he works in you and through you to bring good out of evil. God created us as relational beings who need love and connection. He knows that when we suffer, we suffer deeply. We have pain in our hearts when our marriages fall apart, when we lose loved ones, and even when our relationships are strained in other ways. But God is there for us. When we cry out to him and pour out our hearts to him, he hears us and delivers us from all our troubles (Psalm 34:17-18).

It may sound a little strange or morbid, but I enjoy preaching at funerals. Of course, I hate seeing friends, family, and church members leave us behind. But some unchurched family members and friends may hear about God’s love and the reasons for the hope that is in us. In these raw moments, mourners tend to consider their own mortality and give serious thought to the claims of Christ.

Jesus expressed a similar sentiment when Lazarus died and his disciples saw the resurrection and the life in action: “Lazarus has died. I’m glad for you that I wasn’t there so that you may believe” (John 11:14–15, CSB). We cannot know the joy of resurrection without experiencing the pangs of death and loss.

Funerals are opportunities to rehearse the drama of our eschatology, to practice the experience of hope before others. When I stand before a coffin or an urn, I proclaim that the resurrection of Jesus is the guarantee of our own future resurrection. Jaroslav Pelikan’s aphorism always comes to mind: “If Christ is risen, nothing else matters. And if Christ is not risen—nothing else matters.”

Books on the Resurrection typically emphasize questions about the historical credibility of the Gospel accounts, and with good reason. The apostle Paul staked everything on this one event happening in time and space: “If Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins” (1 Cor. 15:17, CSB). Academic studies usually try convincing readers that Jesus was raised from the dead while having little to say about why we should care.

Regent College theology professor W. Ross Hastings flips this script in his newest release, The Resurrection of Jesus Christ: Exploring Its Theological Significance and Ongoing Relevance. Presuming that the bodily resurrection of Jesus is the best explanation of all the biblical and historical evidence, Hastings launches into a book-length exploration of its practical and theological implications.

Days into the Russian invasion of Ukraine, one Ukrainian Orthodox leader reminded his church where they ought to direct their prayers.

“We perceive today that the archangel Michael, together with the whole heavenly host, is fighting for Ukraine. So many people from throughout Ukraine are turning to me and saying that they saw luminous angels over the land of Ukraine,” said Major Archbishop Sviatoslav Shevchuk of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in Kyiv.

“Today we pray, ‘O archangel Michael and all the powers of heaven, fight for Ukraine! Cast down that devil who is attacking us and killing us, bringing devastation and death!’”

Images and tributes to Michael the archangel, the patron saint of the capital and the country, can be found across Kyiv. And although the brutality of Russia’s attacks has left hundreds dead and sent millions fleeing the border, the Ukrainians have awed the world with their fight, resolve, and perseverance—spurred on in part, perhaps, by their admiration for this mighty archangel of war.

Perhaps the most recognized homage is a gold and bronze statue of the angel on an arch commemorating the Lach Gates in Kyiv’s Independence Square, the city’s primary fortification during the Mongols’ siege of Kyiv in 1240. Brandishing his sword and shield, Michael’s image is on Kyiv’s coat of arms and shows up in many other places around the city. (The Soviet Union briefly replaced the celestial being with chestnut leaves before he returned in 1995.)

Kyiv also boasts a glorious public park, St. Volodymyr (or Vladimir) Hill, which includes a fountain dedicated to St. Michael. Its circular border incorporates dragons spewing water and depicts the city’s major cathedrals and monasteries atop mountains. A large image of Michael appears to be flying over this miniature model of Kyiv, holding forth his shield and sword.

Perhaps the largest physical representation in his honor is found in St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Monastery—a national landmark and the site of the newly formed Orthodox Church of Ukraine, united under the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople. Parts of the building complex were restored after the Soviets destroyed many of its original structures in 1935.

The mountains quake before Him; the hills melt; and the earth heaves at His presence-yes, the world and all who dwell in it! Who can stand before His indignation? And who can endure the fierceness of His anger? His fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by Him.

The Lord is good! Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! Blessed be those who trust in Him! Trust in Him with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear Jehovah, and depart from evil.

Galatians 5:16, 24: “This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh… And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.”

Romans 6:6: “Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him…”

I Corinthians 15:31: “I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.”

Acts 20:24: “[Paul] testified both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.”

2 Corinthians 4:10-11: “Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake.”

To gain mastery over the flesh, we need to be able to crucify it. The flesh is strong and likes to rule over you, but as a believer in Jesus Christ, you are no longer subject to its whims. However, the process of moving from the dominion of the flesh to the dominion of the spirit is a lifelong one, requiring all your time.

If you are married, or if you aspire to be married, the Lord calls you to be submissive to your husband. Your husband is called by God to lead your family. As his wife, God has placed you under his authority and has given him the responsibility of leading and caring for you. He must answer for how he leads and cares for you before God. You must answer for how you submit to your husband’s leadership before God.

A godly wife does not talk back to her husband or argue with him in public. She does not try to control her husband or tell him what she thinks he should do (Proverbs 21:9). She does not try to change him (Proverbs 27:15-16). She does not tell him how things should be done (Proverbs 9:cool. Rather, a godly wife is submissive to her husband both in speech and in action (Ephesians 5:22-24; 1 Peter 3:1-2; Colossians 3:18; Titus 2:5).

A Good Wife is God-conscious
A God-conscious woman recognizes that there is a creator of the universe who has authority over every aspect of her life. She follows his guidelines and respects his will for her life.

A good wife honors, loves and cherishes God because she knows that he first loved her. As she knows him, she desires to please him in all things by being a doer of the word and not just a hearer. Her prayers are powerful as she faithfully prays for those around her and always gives thanks to the Lord for everything (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).

She respects her husband
Respect is an important part of a marriage because it helps your husband feel confident in who he is and in his role as the head of your household. Respect him for the leadership that he provides, for his parents, for his friends and their opinions, for his dreams, for his authority, for the decisions that he makes, and even for the time that you spend with him.

You can show respect to your husband by:

Listening to what he says without interrupting or becoming distracted
Acknowledging his accomplishments (i.e., thanking him when he fixes something)
Letting him know that you need help around the house so that you don’t burn out
Giving a word of encouragement when he needs it most

She serves the Lord
God’s Word has much to say about women who are preparing to become wives and mothers. The qualities of a good wife in the Bible exist both within the pages of Titus and Proverbs, where we learn what we can expect from faithful women in God’s Kingdom. Women who are exemplary often possess many characteristics, like a godly trustworthiness and generosity. They also manage resources wisely, have a good reputation within their community, and are kind to others.
